It is very innovative significance that Chinese Literary Anthropology invents the Great Tradition in the new century and puts forward series of theoretical propositions and academic points based on it. The new Great Tradition transforms the opposition between the Great and Little Tradition of American anthropology, and makes the new concepts gain the legitimacy of the cultural values transferred from the old terms. It dates the second coded significance of the written culture from the material narrative and the image narrative of the oral tradition, and highlights the generative and primary of the symbolic significance. It also questions the authenticity of the written representation, endows the truth and credibility to the material and image representation, and manifests the imaginative and expression of the early human culture. Though its theoretical innovation inverts the binary opposition structure, and it wants to jump out of knowledge limits of dual structure such as structure and destruction, objective and subjective, material and spiritual. 展开更多

In the post-modernistic movement to seek for the cultural root, literary anthropologists refocus and explore the original therapeutic function of literature, and make great efforts to restore the essence of disciplines’theory that“literature is human science”to the real context of cultural integration.Based on this, the article intends to treat witch’s great traditional ritual as a starting point, aiming at building up and enriching the ethnography of literary therapy. However,in order to change roles from witches to writers and promote the primitive return of literary therapy, writers make little traditional creation of text focus on interpretation of“treating themselves”and“curing others”about literature’s function. 展开更多

Important changes have taken place in the study of Chinese literary anthropology since 21st century. Chinese literary anthropologists make every effort to explore and construct one theoretical system which is suitable for China's local culture consciousness. Its development context is clear: from literary text to culture text, and from the mythological outlook of literary standard to the mythological outlook driven by faith. We need rely on quadruple-evidence approaches which are integrated with multidisciplinary knowledge to reconstruct Chinese culture of the great tradition and little tradition theory from the new perspective of mythistory, to elaborate N-level coding theory, and to explore the faith in jade myth as the potential driving force of the beginning of civilization. By combing the complete symbolic process from the faith in jade myth to Chinese civilization core values, we wish to seek out the deep cultural genes among Chinese civilization identities ultimately. 展开更多

A cultural image is a kind of cultural symbol and cognitive schema, which can make the national wisdom and historical memory get together. From the view of literary anthropology, the article applies quadruple-evidence approaches to interpret cultural images of rainbow multi-dimensionally and systematically in the field of the great tradition.Meanwhile,in order to break through the concealment and misleadingness of ancient documentary records,we need rely on the multi-ethnic living ethnography from generation to generation and jade Huang(玉璜,semi-annular jade pendant)narrative in the form of hierophany. So we can find that the rainbow represents luckiness,a bumper harvest, and sexual intercourse. Moreover,we conclude that faith in rainbow culture in ancient times is the headstream of faith in dragon culture that rooted in the heart of all Chinese.Hence,quadruple-evidence approaches play more significant roles in the reconstruction and rebuilding of Chinese great tradition’s view of culture than before. 展开更多
