As a feasible solution, Global Energy Interconnection(GEI) has been highly praised and positively responded by the international community once proposed by China. From strategic conception to implementation, GEI development has entered a new phase of joint action now. Gathering and building a global grid database is a prerequisite for conducting research on GEI. Based on the requirement of global grid data management and application, combining with big data and geographic information technology, this paper studies the global grid data acquisition and analysis process, sorts out and designs the global grid database structure supporting GEI research, and builds a global grid database system. 展开更多

The differences between the data integration of a dynamic database grid (DBG) and that of a distributed database system are analyzed, and three kinds of data integration strategies are given on the background of DBG based on Peer to Peer (P2P) framework, including the centralized data integration (CDI) strategy, the distributed data integration (DDI) strategy and the filter-based data integration (FDDI) strategy. CDI calls all the database grid services (DGSs) at a single node, DDI disperses the DGSs to multiple nodes, while FDDI schedules the data integration nodes based on filtering the keywords returned from DGSs. The performance of these three integration strategies are compared with and analyzed by simulation experiments. FDDI is more evident for filtering the keywords with data redundancy increasing. Through the reduction of large amount of data transportation, it effectively shortens the executing time for the task and improves its efficiency. 展开更多

Fundamentally, semantic grid database is about bringing globally distributed databases together in order to coordinate resource sharing and problem solving in which information is given well-defined meaning, and DartGrid II is the implemented database gird system whose goal is to provide a semantic solution for integrating database resources on the Web. Although many algorithms have been proposed for optimizing query-processing in order to minimize costs and/or response time, associated with obtaining the answer to query in a distributed database system, database grid query optimization problem is fundamentally different from traditional distributed query optimization. These differences are shown to be the consequences of autonomy and heterogeneity of database nodes in database grid. Therefore, more challenges have arisen for query optimization in database grid than traditional distributed database. Following this observation, the design of a query optimizer in DartGrid II is presented, and a heuristic, dynamic and parallel query optimization approach to processing query in database grid is proposed. A set of semantic tools supporting relational database integration and semantic-based information browsing has also been implemented to realize the above vision. 展开更多
