The study was qualitative in nature with a phenomenological interpretive paradigm dominating the philosophical approach. The research methods adopted combined life story and grounded theory. As far as the author has been able to determine there are very few, if any studies which have applied this approach specifically to this area of research which investigated the influence life history has on attitude to lifelong learning. Twenty five respondents were interviewed in face-to-face informal interviews. The main aim was to elicit the respondent's subjective interpretation of the interaction between school, family, work, and learning within their lives. The researcher was then able to identify when they occurred and what or who made them particularly meaningful. This paper describes how initial decisions were made regarding the substantive area for the research. Sampling technique and method for collecting the data is discussed and a worked example is given of how the data was analysed. It is intended that this paper will give an insight into the challenge of combining these two much debated methods of research. The empirical data lead to some interesting findings which educators and policy makers will find helpful in order to strengthen the school, college, and workplace interface.展开更多

Surgery performed under regional or local anaesthesia allows the patient to remain conscious during the procedure and is rather common in Swedish healthcare today. Aim: The aim was to obtain a deeper understanding of the main concerns of operating theatre nurses (OTN) when caring for conscious patients during the intraoperative phase. Methods: Interviews were conducted with 23 OTNs from five different hospitals in Sweden and analysed according to grounded theory. Findings: The main concern among the OTNs was to take the patient in consideration. The core category “achieve and maintain ethical treatment of patients” in the operating theatre (OT) was a strategy used throughout the intraoperative process. Ethical treatment was described as moral behaviour at different levels and included the team’s behaviour, respectful and individualised patientcare, and the working-morale of the professionals. Being vigilant and being flexible were the categories related to the core category. The OTNs constantly assessed where to pay most attention as they balanced between the needs of the patient, the team, and the surgery procedure. Conclusion: It is important that every patient is taken into consideration and that ethical principles are held to the highest standards in the OT. A familiar team can facilitate that. The complex skills that operating theatre nurses develop can be added to explain important competencies within the profession.展开更多

Many factors can potentially be associated within an increased amount of errors, leading to adverse events. Nurses, nurse managers, and other leaders all play important roles in establishing patient safety. Aim: This study aimed to obtain a deeper understanding of leaders’ and nurses’ main concerns in establishing patient safety in Swedish intensive care units. Method: A grounded theory methodology was used. Data from 15 interviews with leaders and nurses involved in critical care in Sweden were collected, analysed and constant compared. Findings: The main concern in establishing patient safety was promoting quality of care, work engagement, and staffs well-being in strained ICUs. The core category building trust explained how the leaders’ and nurses’ strove for quality of care and wished a healthy, safe work environment. This is further explained in the categories “Being an accessible and able leader”, “Creating knowledge and understanding”, and “Establishing collaborative practice”. Conclusion: Establishing patient safety in the ICU requires that staffs enjoy going to work, have good work relations, are committed and want to stay at the unit. A healthy, salutogenetic unit with a work environment marked by trust provides a better opportunity to establish patient safety, and various leaders have potential to achieve this.展开更多

The study is about an urban design in architectural field related with space-power-knowledge. To reveal the meaning of the architecture objects is need to analyze the architectural object "form" as the culture-material, and to reveal the meaning of the objects through the hidden things related to the presence of the metaphysical data. To find "the new theory" used "grounded theory research", the method is part of qualitative research which refers to Glaser and Strauss. The achievement study is finding the idea of"architecture stage" of the ruler, represented by Soekamo as the first Indonesian President. Through visual observation and spatial experiences in his several architectural works concerning the "Project's Lighthouse" as his architectural work in Jakarta in the 1960s the idea of connectedness was found. He composes his architecture's work by inserted the "architecture drama analogy" as metaphor for representing himself and his ideologist by exploring the Javanese Ancient's as the basic design in the modem architecture at that time the east meet west.展开更多

A healthy, salutogenetic unit with a work environment marked by trust provides a better opportunity to establish patient safety, and various leaders have potential to achieve this.

文摘The ongoing stability of supply chains faces significant challenges from trade protectionism,anti-globalization trends, and the COVID-19 pandemic. To remain resilient in this dynamic market environment, supply chains must evolve through iterative upgrades and transition to a higher level of sustainability,a process termed“step development.”The current literature, however, offers limited insights into achieving such step development in supply chain sustainability and its critical supporting elements. This study, grounded in theory, involved interviews with representatives from eight diverse Chinese enterprises. We introduce a model delineating supporting factors and a roadmap for Sustainable Step Development of Supply Chains(SSDSC).Our findings highlight three pivotal categories of support for SSDSC:institutional, technological, and social factors.Additionally,we observed that external influences in these categories positively modulate their internal counterparts. The study identifies industrial technology, digital intelligence technology, corporate responsibility, and stakeholder needs as key elements in this process. We conclude by offering theoretical and practical recommendations to foster SSDSC.
文摘Background:One Health has become a global consensus to deal with complex health problems. However, the pro‑gress of One Health implementation in many countries is still relatively slow, and there is a lack of systematic evalua‑tion index. The purpose of this study was to establish an indicator framework for global One Health Intrinsic Drivers index(GOH-IDI)to evaluate human, animal and environmental health development process globally.Method:First,82 studies were deeply analyzed by a grounded theory(GT)method, including open coding, axial coding, and selective coding,to establish a three-level indicator framework, which was composed of three selective codes,19 axial codes, and 79 open codes. Then, through semi-structured interviews with 28 health-related experts, the indicators were further integrated and simplifed according to the inclusion criteria of the indicators. Finally, the fuzzy analytical hierarchy process combined with the entropy weight method was used to assign weights to the indi‑cators, thus, forming the evaluation indicator framework of human, animal and environmental health development process. Results:An indicator framework for GOH-IDI was formed consisting of three selective codes,15 axial codes and 61 open codes. There were six axial codes for“Human Health”,of which“Infectious Diseases”had the highest weight(19.76%)and“Injuries and Violence”had the lowest weight(11.72%).There were four axial codes for“Animal Health”,of which“Animal Epidemic Disease”had the highest weight(39.28%)and“Animal Nutritional Status”had the low‑est weight(11.59%).Five axial codes were set under“Environmental Health”,among which,“Air Quality and Climate Change”had the highest weight(22.63%)and“Hazardous Chemicals”had the lowest weight(17.82%).Conclusions:An indicator framework for GOH-IDI was established in this study. The framework were universal, balanced, and scientifc, which hopefully to be a tool for evaluation of the joint development of human, animal and environmental health in diferent regions globally.
文摘This article presents a ground theory to explain why some individuals choose to be unhappy rather than happy, supported by empirical data collected from a sample of 750 professionals in Greece’s public and private sectors. We begin by reviewing the existing literature on happiness and well-being,highlighting the debate between hedonic and eudaimonic perspectives. We then introduce our research questions and rationale, and describe our methods, sample, and psychometric tools used to measure happiness and other variables of interest. Our results indicate that various factors, including cultural influences, past experiences, and personal values, contribute to individuals’pursuit of unhappiness. We conclude with a thorough discussion of our results and their implications for future research and interventions aimed at promoting well-being.
文摘Mainstream media play a crucial role in constructing the cultural memory of a city. This study used 319 short videos released by“Hi Chengdu,”a new media product of Chengdu Radio and Television,as samples.Based on the grounded theory,a research framework encompassing“content, technology, and discourse”was established to explore the paths through which mainstream media construct the cultural memory.Regarding content, this paper emphasized temporal and spatial contexts and urban spaces, delving deep into the themes of the cultural memory and vehicles for it.In terms of technology, this paper discussed the practice of leveraging audio/visual-mode discourse to stitch together the impressions of a city and evoke emotional resonance to create a“flow”of memory. As for discourse, this paper looked at the performance of a communication ritual to frame concepts and shape urban identity. It is essential to break free from conventional thinking and leverage local culture as the primary driving force to further boost a city’s productivity,in order to excel in cultural communication.

文摘China has made significant strides in economic and social development since reform and opening up over the past four decades. This process has been influenced by the exceptional innovation and entrepreneurship of Chinese business leaders,as well as their profound sentiments of compassion for the world and their country. It is of great significance to foster and promote an entrepreneurial spirit with distinctive Chinese characteristics. Not only is such spirit essential to the high-quality development of enterprises and the economy, but it is also a critical impetus for achieving Chinese modernization.Nevertheless, there is still a paucity of adequate theoretical discourse on the cultural origins and entrepreneurial spirit of outstanding Chinese business leaders. This paper employs the classical grounded theory method to conduct a 10-year follow-up research on 11 representative entrepreneurs and their enterprises. The results indicate that these entrepreneurs exhibit an evolving worldview along the paths of“self-cultivation and moral conduct”,“assisting employees to achieve”,“multilateral symbiosis”,and“the oneness of existence”when interacting with themselves, employees, partners, the general public, and all things in nature.Such entrepreneurial spirit is embodied in this paper as the“Tianxia(all-under-heaven)worldview”.Through theoretical construction, this study defines the concept of“Tianxia worldview”and extensively examines the distinctions and connections between the broadminded“Tianxia worldview”and the kinship-centered“differential mode of association”in terms of internal structure, value orientation, and applicable groups. It is posited that the transition from the former to the latter is a continuous process of transcendence and evolution of the individual mindset. This study has theoretical significance in the context of advancing the research on the Chinese entrepreneurial spirit, transcending the constraints of the management approach based on the“differential mode of association”,and enhancing the research on social responsibility from the perspective of“benefit corporations”.It also has practical value in overcoming the trust dilemma and development impediment of family businesses, ensuring that enterprises consciously fulfill their social responsibilities in a broader social context, and achieving common prosperity and progress for both enterprises and society.

文摘Accident causation analysis is of great importance for accident prevention. In order to improve the aviation safety,a new analysis method of aviation accident causation based on complex network theory is proposed in this paper.Through selecting 257 accident investigation reports,45 causative factors and nine accident types are obtained by the three-level coding process of the grounded theory, and the interaction of these factors is analyzed based on the“2-4”model.Accordingly,the aviation accident causation network is constructed based on complex network theory which has scale-free characteristics and small-world properties, the characteristics of causative factors are analyzed by the topology of the network, and the key causative factors of the accidents are identified by the technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution(TOPSIS)method. The comparison results show that the method proposed in this paper has the advantages of independent of expert experience, quantitative analysis of accident causative factors and statistical analysis of a lot of accident data, and it has better applicability and advancement.
文摘The purpose of this study is to find "the new theory" in the process of having quality "form" in architecture field which is usually visualized by the ruler through his ideology of his architectural work which is created by his architects. He composes his architecture's work by inserted the "architecture drama analogy" as metaphor for representing himself and his ideologist by exploring the Javanese Ancient's as the basic design in the modem architecture at that time the east meet west.
