Analysis of Maize Heterotic Groups and Patterns During Past Decade in China

In this investigation, maize heterotic groups and patterns were analyzed based on theplanting areas from 1992 to 2001 using 84 parent lines of 71 widely extended hybrids andclassification results by SSR markers, in which these lines were assigned into sevenheterotic groups based on Ni-LIs genetic distances. The results indicated that acertain extent change for major heterotic groups of maize took place during past decadein China. The major heterotic groups were Lancaster, Reid, Tang SPT, Zi330 and E28 in theearly 1990s, while they became Reid, Tem-tropicⅠ, Zi330, Tang SPT and Lancaster in theearly 21st century. Tem-tropicⅠwas a new heterotic group, which contained tropic maizegermplasm. The changes for heterotic patterns also occurred. Some new heterotic patternscombining with Tem-tropicⅠappeared, such as ReidTem-tropicⅠ, Zi330Tem-tropicⅠ,Tang SPTTem-tropicⅠ, etc.. Another change was the order of heterotic patterns. In theearly and middle 1990s, the top five heterotic patterns were ReidTang SPT, Zi330Lancaster, LancasterTang SPT, LancasterE28 and ReidZi330, while they became ReidTem-tropicⅠ, ReidZi330, ReidTang SPT, Zi330Tem-tropicⅠand LancasterTang SPT inthe early 21 century. ReidTem-tropicⅠand Zi330Tem-tropicⅠwere laid on the firstand forth Chinese heterotic patterns respectively in 2001. These results providedsignificant information to understand the maize heterotic groups and patterns in Chinaat molecular level.

Study of Electromagnetism Compatibility of Bleeper Station

Transmitted power will decrease, cross-modulate distortion and inter-modulate distortion will be caused and antenna pattern will shift if transmitted antennas are fixed together. All these will lead to the alteration of area coverage. According to the basic theory of electromagnetism compatibility a computer model is established. We do some quantitative analysis of the problems above and give total number, arrangement mode and distance between antennas of bleeper station that operate at 150 MHz. The relation of these factors above are also given. All these are basis of the arrangement of antenna group of bleeper station.

A Feature Analysis of Oroqen Ethnic Group’s Semiosphere

The traditional pattern is the cultural sign of the Oroqen ethnic group,which is the concentrated embodiment of the history,society,customs and religion of Oroqen ethnic group.Semiosphere is an important theoretical concept in Lotman cultural semiotics.Starting from the theory of Lotman’s semiosphere,the paper interprets the concept of semiosphere and the connotation of Oroqen traditional pattern semiosphere,analyzes the overall characteristics of Oroqen traditional patterns,and provides certain theoretical basis for better protection and inheritance culture.

Experimental study on distribution of serotypes and antimicrobial patterns of Group B streptococcus strains

Objective To obtain information on the distribution of serotypes and antimicrobial agent susceptibilities to group B streptococcus (GBS) strains isolated in Beijing area from 1991 to 1996. Methods Bacterial isolates of GBS were obtained from vaginal and cervical tract of pregnant and nonpregnant women in Beijing Tian Tan Hospital by culture. A total of 76 GBS strains were identified finally by coagglutination. Serotyping was determined by Standard Lancefield method. Susceptibility to test agents was assessed by determining the minimal inhibitory concentrations (MICs) with agar dilution method that was established by the National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards (NCCLS). Results Seven serotypes were identified among 76 GBS strains isolates. Types Ⅱ (33%), Ⅲ (23%) and Ⅰa (16%) were the predominant serotypes in pregnant and nonpregnant women. MICs of penicillin G and ampicillin were ≤0.06 μg/ml. MICs of cephazolin, cefuroxime and cefoperozone were 0.003 μg/ml 0.06 μg/ml. MICs of erythromycin were 0.003 μg/ml 0.03 μg/ml. MICs of gentamycin were 1 μg/ml 32 μg/ml. MICs of amikacin were 4 μg/ml ≥64 μg/ml, nearly 12.8% and 40.4% of the strains were resistant to gentamycin and amikacin, respectively. Conclusions Our study provides useful epidemiologic data for preparation of GBS type specific vaccines which can prevent GBS infections and antimicrobial agents susceptibility patterns in China. Routine reports on GBS susceptibilities by clinical laboratories and continuous surveillance for changes in the susceptibility are of considerable clinical importance.

Tuna classification using super learner ensemble of region-based CNN-grouped 2D-LBP models

Tuna is superior among the marine fishes that are exported in the forms of raw fish and processed food.Separation of Tuna into their species is done in industries manually,and the process is tiresome.This work proposes an automated system for classifying Tuna spe-cies based on their images.An ensemble of region-based deep neural networks is used.A sub region contrast stretching operation is applied to enhance the images.Each fish image is then divided into three regions and is augmented before giving as input to pre-trained convolutional neural networks(CNN).After fine-tuning the models,the output from the last convolutional layer is given to a grouped 2D-local binary pattern descriptor(G2DLBP).Statistical features from the descriptor are applied to different classifiers,and the best clas-sifier for each image region model is identified.Different ensemble methods are subse-quently used to combine the three CNN-G2DLBP models.Among the ensemble techniques,super learner ensemble method with random forest(RF)classifier using 5-fold cross-validation shows the highest classification accuracy of 97.32%.The perfor-mance of different ensemble methods is analyzed in terms of accuracy,precision,recall,and f-score.The proposed system shows an accuracy of 93.91% when evaluated with an independent test dataset.An ensemble of region-based CNN with textural features from G2DLBP is applied for the first time for fish classification.
