This study is a brief attempt to uncover the secret of love.From the extremely rich literature on the subject,it relies on only four classic thinkers and writers(Plato,Shakespeare,Attila József,Marx),among whom Marx’s relevant statement is less known even among love researchers.Furthermore,it intends to draw attention to some notable Hungarian philosophers and poets.The ultimate message of the examination is that,although love is the subjective,intimate sphere of a person,it hopefully becomes clear how lovers can create human and communal relationships with each other and with their narrower and broader environment.

This paper scrutinizes the differences in the conceptualization of love between Korean and American women.Grounded in an analysis of literary figures,Brett and Kim Ji-young,the study unravels the intricate interplay of cultural,historical,and societal forces shaping these perspectives.The contrasting landscapes of the United States,driven by ideals of freedom and individualism,and Korea,entrenched in Confucian values and collectivism,serve as crucibles for forming women’s roles,self-perception,and societal expectations.The examination extends to communication styles,illuminating the directness of American expression versus Korea’s reliance on formalism.Through this exploration,the paper illustrates the profound impact of cultural contexts on the intricate tapestry of love,offering a nuanced understanding of divergent viewpoints within a global context.

Full-Scale Isogeometric Topology Optimization of Cellular Structures Based on Kirchhoff-Love Shells

Cellular thin-shell structures are widely applied in ultralightweight designs due to their high bearing capacity and strength-to-weight ratio.In this paper,a full-scale isogeometric topology optimization(ITO)method based on Kirchhoff-Love shells for designing cellular tshin-shell structures with excellent damage tolerance ability is proposed.This method utilizes high-order continuous nonuniform rational B-splines(NURBS)as basis functions for Kirchhoff-Love shell elements.The geometric and analysis models of thin shells are unified by isogeometric analysis(IGA)to avoid geometric approximation error and improve computational accuracy.The topological configurations of thin-shell structures are described by constructing the effective density field on the controlmesh.Local volume constraints are imposed in the proximity of each control point to obtain bone-like cellular structures.To facilitate numerical implementation,the p-norm function is used to aggregate local volume constraints into an equivalent global constraint.Several numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.After simulation and comparative analysis,the results indicate that the cellular thin-shell structures optimized by the proposed method exhibit great load-carrying behavior and high damage robustness.

The Emergence of Loving Pedagogy in the L2 Affective Domain:How Affective Pedagogy Accounts for Chinese EFL Teachers’Professional Success and Job Satisfaction?

The success of teachers in professional environments has a desirable influence on their mental condition.Simply said,teachers’professional success plays a crucial role in improving their mental health.Due to the invaluable role of professional success in teachers’mental health,personal and professional variables helping teachers succeed in their profession need to be uncovered.While the role of teachers’personal qualities has been well researched,the function of professional variables has remained unknown.To address the existing gap,the current investigation measured the role of two professional variables,namely job satisfaction and loving pedagogy,in Chinese EFL teachers’professional success.To do this,three validated scales were provided to 1591 Chinese EFL teachers.Participants’answers to the questionnaires were analyzed using the Spearman correlation test and structural equation modeling.The data analysis demonstrated a strong,positive link between the variables.Moreover,loving pedagogy was found to be the positive,strong predictor of Chinese EFL teachers’job satisfaction and professional success.The findings of the current inquiry may help educational administrators enhance their instructors’professional success,which in turn promotes their mental and psychological conditions at work.

Alice Munro,a famous Canadian Canadian short-story writer.She gained the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2013.Munro’s works focus on women and adolescents.She also writes about the illness and love of the elderly.“The Bear Came over the Mountain”is one of them.In this story,Munro adopts unreliable narration to depict love between Grant and Fiona.This paper aims to study the love writing and its unreliable narration in this story.Based on the text of love writing,this paper analyzes the specific strategies of unreliable narration.The author believes that the unreliable narration of the love text in the story can be divided into the unreliable narration of character type and information type.Through analysis of these two types of narration in the story,special meaning of unreliable narration to describe love can be found.Besides,Munro’s description also contains her own insight of love:the course of true love does not always run smooth.

Three-Dimensional Multiferroic Structures under Time-Harmonic Loading

Magneto-electro-elastic(MEE)materials are a specific class of advanced smart materials that simultaneouslymanifest the coupling behavior under electric,magnetic,and mechanical loads.This unique combination ofproperties allows MEE materials to respond to mechanical,electric,and magnetic stimuli,making them versatile forvarious applications.This paper investigates the static and time-harmonic field solutions induced by the surface loadin a three-dimensional(3D)multilayered transversally isotropic(TI)linear MEE layered solid.Green’s functionscorresponding to the applied uniform load(in both horizontal and vertical directions)are derived using the FourierBessel series(FBS)system of vector functions.By virtue of this FBS method,two sets of first-order ordinarydifferential equations(i.e.,N-type and LM-type)are obtained,with the expansion coefficients being Love numbers.It is noted that the LM-type system corresponds to the MEE-coupled P-,SV-,and Rayleigh waves,while the N-typecorresponds to the purely elastic SH-and Love waves.By applying the continuity conditions across interfaces,the solutions for each layer of the structure(from the bottom to the top)are derived using the dual-variable andposition(DVP)method.This method(i.e.,DVP)is unconditionally stable when propagating solutions throughdifferent layers.Numerical examples illustrate the impact of load types,layering,and frequency on the response ofthe structure,as well as the accuracy and convergence of the proposed approach.The numerical results are usefulin designing smart devices made of MEE solids,which are applicable to engineering fields like renewable energy.

How Do the Chinese Make Love? A Community Based Survey in China

Aims: To investigate how the Chinese make love. Methods: From Jan. 2009 to Dec. 2009, a survey was carried out of 600 adults (300 male and 300 female adults) in Tianhe community (Guangzhou, China). Information included masturbation, sexual foreplay, oral sex, intercourse, coordination with sexual partner, self-evaluation of one’s sexual function. Results: 255 females and 229 males fulfilled the questionnaires. 48.8% females and 68.7% males admitted of masturbation experiences. 59.9% women reported some passionate touch before sex, and 63.2% men reported some moderate touch. One third of the women could accept oral intercourse, while two thirds of the men couldn’t accept oral intercourse. The frequency of sexual intercourse per month is less than 10 times in 72.5% women and 77.7% men. 72.9% men and 54.9% women would like to frequently change the position in sexual intercourse. Still, 72.9% men and 54.9% women would like to coordinate with the sexual partner when she/he had sexual requirement. 74.1% women thought her sexual function as general level. Conclusions: The results of the present study indicated that most men and women in China could enjoy their sex lives through the most common way: sexual intercourse. Although masturbation and oral sex are two of the common sex activities, part of the adults still had a negative attitude towards the two activities, especially women.
