Stochastic sampled-data multi-objective control of active suspension systems for in-wheel motor driven electric vehicles

This paper addresses the sampled-data multi-objective active suspension control problem for an in-wheel motor driven electric vehicle subject to stochastic sampling periods and asynchronous premise variables.The focus is placed on the scenario that the dynamical state of the half-vehicle active suspension system is transmitted over an in-vehicle controller area network that only permits the transmission of sampled data packets.For this purpose,a stochastic sampling mechanism is developed such that the sampling periods can randomly switch among different values with certain mathematical probabilities.Then,an asynchronous fuzzy sampled-data controller,featuring distinct premise variables from the active suspension system,is constructed to eliminate the stringent requirement that the sampled-data controller has to share the same grades of membership.Furthermore,novel criteria for both stability analysis and controller design are derived in order to guarantee that the resultant closed-loop active suspension system is stochastically stable with simultaneous𝐻2 and𝐻∞performance requirements.Finally,the effectiveness of the proposed stochastic sampled-data multi-objective control method is verified via several numerical cases studies in both time domain and frequency domain under various road disturbance profiles. 展开更多

In order to enhance grain sampling efficiency, in this work a truss type multi-rod grain sampling machine is designed and tested. The sampling machine primarily consists of truss support mechanism, main carriage mechanism, auxiliary carriage mechanism, sampling rods, and a PLC controller. The movement of the main carriage on the truss, the auxiliary carriage on the main carriage, and the vertical movement of the sampling rods on the auxiliary carriage are controlled through PLC programming. The sampling machine accurately controls the position of the sampling rods, enabling random sampling with six rods to ensure comprehensive and random sampling. Additionally, sampling experiments were conducted, and the results showed that the multi-rod grain sampling machine simultaneously samples with six rods, achieving a sampling frequency of 38 times per hour. The round trip time for the sampling rods is 33 seconds per cycle, and the sampling length direction reaches 18 m. This study provides valuable insights for the design of multi-rod grain sampling machines. 展开更多

Nonparametric(distribution-free)control charts have been introduced in recent years when quality characteristics do not follow a specific distribution.When the sample selection is prohibitively expensive,we prefer ranked-set sampling over simple random sampling because ranked set sampling-based control charts outperform simple random sampling-based control charts.In this study,we proposed a nonparametric homogeneously weighted moving average based on theWilcoxon signed-rank test with ranked set sampling(NPHWMARSS)control chart for detecting shifts in the process location of a continuous and symmetric distribution.Monte Carlo simulations are used to obtain the run length characteristics to evaluate the performance of the proposed NPHWMARSS control chart.The proposed NPHWMARSS control chart’s performance is compared to that of parametric and nonparametric control charts.These control charts include the exponentially weighted moving average(EWMA)control chart,Wilcoxon signed-rank with simple random sampling based the nonparametric EWMA control chart,the nonparametric EWMA sign control chart,Wilcoxon signed-rank with ranked set sampling-based the nonparametric EWMA control chart,and the homogeneously weighted moving average control charts.The findings show that the proposed NPHWMARSS control chart performs better than its competitors,particularly for the small shifts.Finally,an example is presented to demonstrate how the proposed scheme can be implemented practically. 展开更多

This article investigates the problem of robust H∞ controller design for sampled-data systems with time-varying norm-bounded parameter uncertainties in the state matrices. Attention is focused on the design of a causal sampled-data controller, which guarantees the asymptotical stability of the closed-loop system and reduces the effect of the disturbance input on the controlled output to a prescribed H∞ performance bound for all admissible uncertainties. Sufficient condition for the solvability of the problem is established in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). It is shown that the desired H∞ controller can be constructed by solving certain LMIs. An illustrative example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

In addition to causing discomfort, female mosquitoes introduce disease-carrying viruses and bacteria into the bloodstream of their victims. There are numerous publications describing the uses of sugary mosquito baits with promising results. Without temperature control measures however, these methods are mainly useful for only nectar-feeding insects, including male mosquitoes, because the warmth of the blood is a condition for the females to locate their meals. The efforts required to keep the baits fresh against the natural spoiling process make them less attractive or impractical to implement. These experiments address these issues by using warm baits of water, sugar, boric acid, and antibiotics. Overnight, the general areas became clear of blood-sucking female mosquitoes while in numbers, the harmless males concentrated into the immediate vicinities. Control vs. experiment protocol established no other logical explanation for this phenomenon other than that females were attracted and killed by the bait. As expected, there was no female mosquito’s activity in these areas. There weren’t many left to do the work. 展开更多

In view of class imbalance in data-driven modeling for Prognostics and Health Management(PHM),existing classification methods may fail in generating effective fault prediction models for the on-board high-speed train control equipment.A virtual sample generation solution based on Generative Adversarial Network(GAN)is proposed to overcome this shortcoming.Aiming at augmenting the sample classes with the imbalanced data problem,the GAN-based virtual sample generation strategy is embedded into the establishment of fault prediction models.Under the PHM framework of the on-board train control system,the virtual sample generation principle and the detailed procedures are presented.With the enhanced class-balancing mechanism and the designed sample augmentation logic,the PHM scheme of the on-board train control equipment has powerful data condition adaptability and can effectively predict the fault probability and life cycle status.Practical data from a specific type of on-board train control system is employed for the validation of the presented solution.The comparative results indicate that GAN-based sample augmentation is capable of achieving a desirable sample balancing level and enhancing the performance of correspondingly derived fault prediction models for the Condition-based Maintenance(CBM)operations. 展开更多

By input delay approach, the linearized airship model was transformed into a continuous-time system with time-varying delay. Sufficient conditions were then established based on the constructed Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, which guarantee that the system is mean-square exponentially stable with H∞ performance. The desired controller can be obtained by solving the obtained conditions. Simulation results show that guaranteed minimum H∞ performance γ=1.4037 and fast response of attitude for sampled-data autonomous airship are achieved in spite of the existence of parameter uncertainties. 展开更多

The design of decentralized robust H_∞ state feedback controller for large-scale interconnected systems with value bounded uncertainties existing in the state, control input and interconnected matrices was investigated. Based on the bounded real lemma a sufficient condition for the existence of a decentralized robust H_∞ state feedback controller was derived. This condition is expressed as the feasibility problem of a certain nonlinear matrix inequality. The controller, which makes the closed-loop large-scale system robust stable and satisfies the given H_∞ performance, is obtained by the offered homotopy iterative linear matrix inequality method. In this work,an adaptive sampling control strategy for distributed predictive control is proposed.According to the proposed method,the sampling rate of each subsystem of the accused object is determined based on the periodic detection of its dynamic behavior and calculations made using a correlation function.Then,the optimal sampling interval within the period is obtained and sent to the corresponding sub-prediction controller,and the sampling interval of the controller is changed accordingly before the next sampling period begins.In the next control period,the adaptive sampling mechanism recalculates the sampling rate of each subsystem’s measurable output variable according to both the abovementioned method and the change in the dynamic behavior of the entire system,and this process is repeated.Such an adaptive sampling interval selection based on an autocorrelation function that measures dynamic behavior can dynamically optimize the selection of sampling rate according to the real-time change in the dynamic behavior of the controlled object.It can also accurately capture dynamic changes,meaning that each sub-prediction controller can more accurately calculate the optimal control quantity at the next moment,significantly improving the performance of distributed model predictive control(DMPC).A comparison demonstrates that the proposed adaptive sampling DMPC algorithm has better tracking performance than the traditional DMPC algorithm. 展开更多
