In order to decrease the deviation, the optimized parameters of approximate solution are obtained through mathematic analysis and 3-D optimization calculation. In the close region of relative radius of the core flow, the continuity of deviation is determined with the limit methods. By analysis, the results indicate that the deviation in the area around the discontinuous nodes is very large; the deviation is the function of fluid parameters, approximate solution parameters and the relative radius of the core flow. While the fluid parameters keep certain, the 3-D figures of the deviation are drawn. The slice plane is used to seek the extremums of multi-peaks surface; The optimized parameters of approximate formula make the approximate formula in the regions of the certain deviation. The available area of relative radius of the core flow increases by 43.2%. It is more valuable for the calculation of flow resistance in pipe transportation.展开更多

This velocity distribution is determined as part of the procedure by cross sectional integration of the momentum differential equation for a given distance z from the channel entrance. Using the macroscopic mass and momentum balance equation, the entrance length at each cross section of the entrance region of the annuli and pressure distribution have been calculated for specific values of Herschel-Bulkley number and various values of aspect ratio and flow behavior index. The effects of non-Newtonian characteristics and channel width on the velocity profile, pressure distribution and the entrance length have been discussed.展开更多

The normal viscous force of squeeze flow between two arbitrary rigid spheres with an interstitial HerscheI-Bulkley fluid was studied on the basis of Reynolds' lubrication theory, resulting in analytical integral expressions of pressure distribution and the viscous force between the two spheres. According to the variation of shear stress, the fluid was divided into yielding and unyielding regions, followed by a discussion on the thickness of the two regions. The result of this paper could be reduced to either the power-law fluid or the Bingham fluid case.展开更多
