When people talk about the Wuhou shrine,many think of the one in Chengdu.But in the west of Nanyang,another famous city with a long history,there’s also a Wuhou shrine that shines brightly.The two shrines are dedicated to remembering Zhuge Liang and help us learn about the history of the Three Kingdoms.But they are not the same.One is in Nanyang and the other is in Chengdu.The buildings in Nanyang are neat and make you feel calm and fresh.The shrine in Chengdu looks like a big palace from the Ming and Qing times and has three parts.The shrine in Nanyang tells us about Zhuge Liang’s life when he was a farmer.

Derivation of Martin-Hou Equation of State from Hard-particle Perturbation Theory

In this paper, the Martin-Hou equation of state is derived by using a power series representation of radial distribution function and an analytic representation of multi-section potential based on the Barker-Henderson hard-particle perturbation theory including high-order terms. In the derivation, a theoretical form of Martin-Hou equation was obtained. It had a similar form and the same capability to predict P-V-T properties as the Martin-Hou equation and no additional data were required for evaluating the constants. The characteristic constants of the theoretical expression have certain relationships with the molecular parameters.

In China, household registration system has the problems of unreasonable standard setting and relevant supporting measures failure to keep pace with the development trend. Continuity and Change in Dao Yin:Comparing and Contrasting the Therapeutic Exercises in Yin Shu(The Book of Pulling,c.2nd Century BCE)and Zhu Bing Yuan Hou Lun(Treatise on the Origins and Manifestations of Various Diseases,610 CE)

The manuscript Yin Shu(The Book of Pulling),excavated from Zhangjiashan Han Tomb No.247,is the earliest surviving text on therapeutic exercise known as Dao Yin(lit.guiding and pulling).Discovered in 1983,this Dao Yin text,together with the drawings of 44 figures performing“guiding and pulling”exercises found in the Mawangdui Han Tomb in 1974,are of great significance to the study of the early history of Dao Yin.Prior to these discoveries,researchers into Dao Yin relied mainly on material found in the Dao Zang(the Daoist Canon),compiled in 1145.This led to their conclusion that Dao Yin was essentially Daoist.The development of Dao Yin reached its zenith during the Sui Dynasty(581–618 CE),when it became one of the three medical departments at the imperial medical education institution.As part of the medical reform of the second Sui Emperor,Yang Di,Dao Yin became the treatment of choice,and the employment of a large number of Dao Yin specialists to the Sui court transformed the state medical service.The compilation of Zhu Bing Yuan Hou Lun(Treatise on the Origins and Manifestations of Various Diseases)under Yang Di’s decree,incorporated an abundance of resources on Dao Yin,enabling physicians to potentially“prescribe”Dao Yin to their patients.Situating both Yin Shu and Zhu Bing Yuan Hou Lun in their social and historical contexts,this article analyses their editorial treatments,examines their different objectives,styles,and readerships,and compares the various exercises described in the two texts.It emphasizes the fact that over a period of nearly a thousand years,from the late Warring States(475–221 BCE)to the Sui and Tang periods,Dao Yin was an important medical practice,culminating in its institutionalization by the Sui government.

Vietnam is the land of all original and absorbed goddesses in Southeast Asia. Local goddesses such as Lieu Hanh, Ba Chua Kho, Thien Yana Ponagar, Ba Den, Ba Chua Xu or external goddess such as Xi Wangmu （西王母）, Kwan Yin （观音）, Yao Chi Jin Mu （瑶池金母）, Tian Hou （天後）, Mother Dragon Goddess （龙母娘娘）, Jin Hua Goddess （金花夫人） etc. all are worshipped simultaneously throughout the nation. Among those, the cult of Tian Hou has become the most typical external goddess belief which absorbs both the cults of Kwan Yin and Xi Wang Mu, at the certain extend, become a symbol of harmonization. The cult of Tian Hou originated in Fujian, China and was gradually brought into South Vietnam after the footsteps of South Chinese immigrants during 17th-20th century. There are around 50 Tian Hou temples built and owned by the ethnic Hoa （华族/Chinese） and the Vietnamese at the Mekong River Delta. In the Mekong residents＇ mind, Tian Hou is seen as a maritime goddess, a protector, a benevolent Mother Goddess who has been accepted through the channels of Mahayana Buddhism and traditional goddess beliefs in the local communities. This paper is to investigate the current situation of the cult of Tian Hou in the Mekong River Delta to highlight the basic characteristics of this cult in the region.

A new equation of state is derived from the Barker-Henderson hard-sphere perturbation theory. It has the form similar to the Martin-Hou equation of state. The numerical values of the characteristic constants in the equation can be calculatrd by the method of Martin and Hou. The equation can he used to predictP-V-T properties accurately for fluids when the critical parameters (Tc,Pc, and Vc) and one point on the vapor pressure cure are given. By using the functional relationships between the characteristic constants and the microscopic parameters, the molecular microscopic parameters of the substance can be obtained.

Archer Hou Yi According to Julius Zeyer （1841-1901） and Lu Xun （1881-1936）： Changing Perceptions of Ancient Myths in Modern Literature

This article analyzes two literary works by the Czech writer, Julius Zeyer （1841-1901）, and Lu Xun （1881-1936） by elaborating upon two different myths concerning the Archer Hou Yi. These myths were presented by the missionary and Sinologist William Frederick Mayers in The Chinese Reader＇s Manual： A Handbook of Biographical, Historical, Mythological and General Literary References （1874）, and other Chinese sources. Zeyer highlighted the first myth, which was connected with the Emperor Yao and showed Hou Yi shooting arrows at the nine suns appearing together in the heavens, and Lu Xun preferred the second myth, where the Archer Yi rebelled against the Emperor Tai Kang, whom he drove from the Capital, and later was killed by Han Zhuo. The myth of Chang E who flew to the moon is described only by Lu Xun.

Domesticating Time： Gendered Temporalities in Hou Hsiao-hsien＇s Cafe Lumiere

This article utilizes the trope of domesticity/domestication in order to explore notions of gendered temporality in Hou Hsiao-hsien＇s Cafe Lumiere （2003）. In dialogue with the Chinese writer Eileen Chang and Western theories about women＇s time and domestic temporality, the article proposes that the works of both Hou and Chang can be described as instances of ecriture feminine that interrogate an ambivalence toward domesticity. Drawing on Chantal Akerman＇s film in contrast to that of Hou, the article further demonstrates how the use of the cinematographic long take domesticates time and space, as well as the ways in which the horror of everyday domesticity have been captured through what Rey Chow calls ＂feminine details.＂ Finally, the present article argues that Cafe Lumiere domesticates a fear of domesticity and pregnancy through a reconfiguration of linear and cyclical time, a reversal of gender roles in its protagonists, and a privileging of aurality over visuality in its cinematic style, such that it presents the potential for a new kind of union and a new kind of futurity premised upon reordered gendered forms of temporality.
