The stochastic resonance behavior of coupled stochastic resonance(SR)system with time-delay under mass and frequency fluctuations was studied.Firstly,the approximate system model of the time-delay system was obtained by the theory of small time-delay approximation.Then,the random average method and Shapiro-Loginov algorithm were used to calculate the output amplitude ratio of the two subsystems.The simulation analysis shows that increasing the time-delay and the input signal amplitude appropriately can improve the output response of the system.Finally,the system is applied to bearing fault diagnosis and compared with the stochastic resonance system with random mass and random frequency.The experimental results show that the coupled SR system taking into account the actual effect of time-delay and couple can more effectively extract the frequency of the fault signal,and thus realizing the diagnosis of the fault signal,which has important engineering application value. 展开更多

The conventional double-probe technique was improved with a combination of selfpowering and radio-frequency(RF) choking.RF perturbations in dual-frequency capacitively coupled discharge were effectively eliminated,as judged by the disappearance of self-bias on the probes.The improved technique was tested by spatially resolved measurements of the electron temperature and ion density in both the axial and radial directions of a dual-frequency capacitive plasma.The measured data in the axial direction were compared with simulation results,and they were excellently consistent with each other.The measured radial distributions of the ion density and electron temperature were influenced significantly by the lower frequency(LF) power.It was shown that superposition of the lower frequency to the higher frequency(HF) power shifted the maximum ion density from the radial center to the edge region,while the trend for the electron temperature profile was the opposite.The changing feature of the ion density distribution is qualitatively consistent with that of the optical emission intensity reported. 展开更多

Inter-turn fault is a serious stator winding short-circuit fault of permanent magnet synchronous machine(PMSM). Once it occurs, it produces a huge short-circuit current that poses a great risk to the safe operation of PMSM. Thus, an inter-turn short-circuit fault(ITSCF) diagnosis method based on high frequency(HF) voltage residual is proposed in this paper with proper HF signal injection. First, the analytical models of PMSM after the ITSCF are deduced. Based on the model, the voltage residual at low frequency(LF) and HF can be obtained. It is revealed that the HF voltage residual has a stronger ITSCF detection capability compared to the LF voltage residual. To obtain optimal fault signature, a 3-phase symmetrical HF voltage is injected into the machine drive system, and the HF voltage residuals are extracted. The fault indicator is defined as the standard deviation of the 3-phase HF voltage residuals. The effectiveness of the proposed ITSCF diagnosis method is verified by experiments on a triple 3-phase PMSM. It is worth noting that no extra hardware equipment is required to implement the proposed method. 展开更多

In the proposed method, time-varying parametric identification of a non-stationary signal can be translated into a linear time-invariant problem by introducing a set of basic functions. Then, the parameters are estimated by using a recursive least square algorithm with a forgetting factor and an adaptive time-frequency distribution is achieved. The simulation results show that the proposed approach is superior to the short-time Fourier transform and Wigner distribution. And finally, the proposed method is applied to the fault diagnosis of a bearing , and the experiment result shows that the proposed method is effective in feature extraction. 展开更多

A non-contact low-frequency(LF)method of diagnosing the plasma surrounding a scaled model in a shock tube is proposed.This method utilizes the phase shift occurring after the transmission of an LF alternating magnetic field through the plasma to directly measure the ratio of the plasma loop average electron density to collision frequency.An equivalent circuit model is used to analyze the relationship of the phase shift of the magnetic field component of LF electromagnetic waves with the plasma electron density and collision frequency.The applicable range of the LF method on a given plasma scale is analyzed.The upper diagnostic limit for the ratio of the electron density(unit:m^(-3))to collision frequency(unit:Hz)exceeds 1×10^(11),enabling an electron density to exceed 1×10^(20)m^(-3)and a collision frequency to be less than 1 GHz.In this work,the feasibility of using the LF phase shift to implement the plasma diagnosis is also assessed.Diagnosis experiments on shock tube equipment are conducted by using both the electrostatic probe method and LF method.By comparing the diagnostic results of the two methods,the inversion results are relatively consistent with each other,thereby preliminarily verifying the feasibility of the LF method.The ratio of the electron density to the collision frequency has a relatively uniform distribution during the plasma stabilization.The LF diagnostic path is a loop around the model,which is suitable for diagnosing the plasma that surrounds the model.Finally,the causes of diagnostic discrepancy between the two methods are analyzed.The proposed method provides a new avenue for diagnosing high-density enveloping plasma. 展开更多

Shear-type structures are common structural forms in industrial and civil buildings,such as concrete and steel frame structures.Fault diagnosis of shear-type structures is an important topic to ensure the normal use of structures.The main drawback of existing damage assessment methods is that they require accurate structural finite element models for damage assessment.However,for many shear-type structures,it is difficult to obtain accurate FEM.In order to avoid finite elementmodeling,amodel-freemethod for diagnosing shear structure defects is developed in this paper.This method only needs to measure a few low-order vibration modes of the structure.The proposed defect diagnosis method is divided into two stages.In the first stage,the location of defects in the structure is determined based on the difference between the virtual displacements derived from the dynamic flexibility matrices before and after damage.In the second stage,damage severity is evaluated based on an improved frequency sensitivity equation.Themain innovations of this method lie in two aspects.The first innovation is the development of a virtual displacement difference method for determining the location of damage in the shear structure.The second is to improve the existing frequency sensitivity equation to calculate the damage degree without constructing the finite elementmodel.Thismethod has been verified on a numerical example of a 22-story shear frame structure and an experimental example of a three-story steel shear structure.Based on numerical analysis and experimental data validation,it is shown that this method only needs to use the low-order modes of structural vibration to diagnose the defect location and damage degree,and does not require finite element modeling.The proposed method should be a very simple and practical defect diagnosis technique in engineering practice. 展开更多

This article studies the fault detection filtering design problem for Roesser type two-dimensional(2-D)nonlinear systems described by uncertain 2-D Takagi-Sugeno(T-S)fuzzy models.Firstly,fuzzy Lyapunov functions are constructed and the 2-D Fourier transform is exploited,based on which a finite frequency fault detection filtering design method is proposed such that a residual signal is generated with robustness to external disturbances and sensitivity to faults.It has been shown that the utilization of available frequency spectrum information of faults and disturbances makes the proposed filtering design method more general and less conservative compared with a conventional nonfrequency based filtering design approach.Then,with the proposed evaluation function and its threshold,a novel mixed finite frequency H_(∞)/H_(-)fault detection algorithm is developed,based on which the fault can be immediately detected once the evaluation function exceeds the threshold.Finally,it is verified with simulation studies that the proposed method is effective and less conservative than conventional non-frequency and/or common Lyapunov function based filtering design methods. 展开更多

Experiments on the diagnosis of three faults are carried out on a rotor test rig with the chosen fault each time. Fuselage vibration signals from specified locations are measured and analyzed by the fast Fourier transform in the frequency domain. It is demonstrated that fuselage vibration frequency spectra induced by three faults are different from each other. The probabilistic neural network (PNN) is adopted to detect three faults. A new method to construct... The harmonic wavelet transform(HWT) and its fast realization based on fast Fourier transform(FFT) are introduced. Its ability to maintain the same amplitude-frequency feature is revealed. A new method to construct the time-frequency(TF) spectrum of HWT is proposed, which makes the HWT TF spectrum able to correctly reflect the time-frequency-amplitude distribution of the signal. A new way to calculate the HWT coefficients is proposed. By zero padding the data taken out, the non-decimated coefficients of HWT are obtained. Theoretical analysis shows that the modulus of the coefficients obtained by the new calculation way and living at a certain scale are the envelope of the component in the corresponding frequency band. By taking the cross section of the new TF spectrum, the demodulation for the component at a certain frequency band can be realized. A comparison with the Hilbert demodulation combined with band-pass filtering is done, which indicates for multi-components, the method proposed here is more suitable since it realizes ideal band-pass filtering and avoids pass band selecting. In the end, it is applied to bearing and gearbox fault diagnosis, and the results reflect that it can effectively extract the fault features in the signal. 展开更多

Aiming at the concept of "diagnosis", a simple and effective broadband radar cross section (RCS) measurement system is constructed, and some multi-dimensional scattering properties diagnosis techniques are presented based on the system. Firstly, a stepped-frequency signal is employed to achieve high range resolution, combining with a variety of signal processing tech- niques. Secondly, cross-range resolution is gained with a rotating table, and the high-resolution two-dimensional (2-D) imaging of the scale model is obtained by the microwave imaging theory. Finally, two receiving antennas with a small distance in altitude are used, and the three-dimensional (3-D) height distribution of scattering points on the scale model is extracted from the phase of images. Some typical bodies and a scale aircraft model are diagnosed in an anechoic chamber. The experimental results show that, after scaling with a metal sphere, the accurate one- dimensional (l-D) RCS pattern of the model is obtained, and it has a large dynamic range. When the bandwidth of the transmitting signal is 4 GHz, the resolution of the 2-D image can reach to 0.037 5 m. The 3-D height distribution of scattering points is given by interferometric measurement. This paper provides a feasible way to obtain high-precision scattering properties parameters of the scale aircraft model in a conventional rectangular anechoic chamber. 展开更多

Vibration failure in the pumping system is a significant issue for indus-tries that rely on the pump as a critical device which requires regular maintenance.To save energy and money,a new automated system must be developed that can detect anomalies at an early stage.This paper presents a case study of a machine learning(ML)-based computational technique for automatic fault detection in a cascade pumping system based on variable frequency drive(VFD).Since the intensity of the vibrational effect depends on which axis has the most significant effect,a three-axis accelerometer is used to measure it in the pumping system.The emphasis is on determining the vibration effect on different axes.For experiment,various ML algorithms are investigated on collected vibratory data through Matlab software in x,y,z axes and performances of the algorithms are compared based on accuracy rate,prediction speed and training time.Based on the proposed research results,the multiclass support vector machine(MSVM)is found to be the best suitable algorithm compared to other algorithms.It has been demonstrated that ML algorithms can detect faults automatically rather than conventional meth-ods.MSVM is used for the proposed work because it is less complex and pro-duces better results with a limited data set. 展开更多

It divides a signal into three sections and makes use of the first spectrum line of each section. Then this approach is modified so that it is also applicable to the correction of the high frequency component. Thus a timedelay-based all-frequency correction method is proposed. The simulation results show that this method is simple and feasible. By this method, the accurate frequency, amplitude and phase of the spectral line can be obtained whether it is close to or far from OHz. 展开更多
