This paper discusses the rattan production in Hainan Island on the basis of comprehensively collected information on rattan through interviewing with farmers, middle man, manufacture and official, on-site observation and literatures. The stock of available rattan is more than 25×106kg, but the real production annually is 4×105 kg. The area of rattan plantation established during 2000-2005 was about 10000 hm2, however, they don not produce yet. Four indigenous rattan species (C. Simplicifolius, C. Faberii, C. Tetradactylus, D. margaritae ) and three kinds of exotic canes are mainly utilized in Hainan island. Large quality of canes is treated as timber regulated by government, tax should be paid and a license should be applied from the government if canes are transport out of Hainan Island. The production-to-consumption flow of rattan in Hainan Island was drawn out based on the investigation. Constraints and advantages of the rattan sector in Hainan are identified and recommendations are proposed finally.展开更多

The results show that the pattern of velocity anomalies in the shallower upper crust is somewhat associated with the surface geological tectonics in the region. A relative low-velocity anomaly appears north of the Wangwu-Wenjiao fault zone and a relative high-velocity anomaly appears south of the Wangwu-Wenjiao fault zone, corresponding to the depressed areas in north Hainan Island, where many volcanoes are frequently active and geothermal values are relatively higher, and the uplifted and stable regions in central and south of the Hainan Is-land. In the middle and lower crust velocities are relatively lower in east Hainan than those in west Hainan,possi-bly suggesting the existence of the upwelling of hot materials from the mantle in east Hainan. The pattern of veloc-ity anomalies also indicates that NW faults,i.e.,the Puqian-Qinglan fault, may be shallower, while the E-W Wangwu-Wenjiao fault may be deeper, which perhaps extends down to Moho depth or deeper.展开更多

[Method] By using the sowing area, total yield, and yield per unit area of watermelon and melon in Hainan Province as research u- nits, the yield comparative advantage (YCA), efficiency comparative advantage (E- CA), scale comparative advantage (SCA), concentration ratio comparative advantage (CRCA), comprehensive comparative advantage (CCA), ratio of yield per unit area (RYPA), sowing area ratio (SAR), and distribution characteristics of watermelon and melon were systematically analyzed. By referring to the agricultural statistic data of 18 counties (cities) in Hainan Province, indexes for each research unit (i.e., the YCA index, ECA index, SCA index, CRCA index, CCA index, RYPA index, and SAR index) were established and calculated to determine the comparative advantage of watermelon and melon production in Hainan Province. A spatial expression of the research result on a map was conducted by using GIS software. [Result] Seven counties (cities) exhibited comparative advantages in watermelon production, namely, Lingshui, Wanning, Wenchang, Dongfang, Sanya, Ledong, and Changjiang. The Eastern and Southern Hainan Provinces had CCAs, and the Western and Northern Hainan Provinces could be reserved for future development. For melon production, four counties (cities) exhibited comparative advantages, namely, Ledong, Lingshui, Sanya, and Dongfang. The Southern Hainan Province had CCA, whereas the West- ern Hainan Province could be reserved for later development. [Conclusion] The result has showed that establishing watermelon and melon as dominant agricultural prod- ucts is necessary for the future development of the industry and for the formulation of a layout of regions with advantages, where key support and construction should be provided preferentially with the aim to raise the yield, quality, and market com- petitiveness of products.展开更多

文摘Hainan Island is the biggest supplier of domestic rattan canes in China and is considered the best area to develop rattan plantation in large-scale. Constraints and advantages of the rattan sector in Hainan are identified and recommendations are proposed finally.

文摘Using over 3 500 first P arrival times recorded by nine digital seismic stations from Hainan Digital Seismic Net-work during 1999~2005,a 3-D P-wave velocity model of the crust under Hainan Island and adjacent regions has been determined. The pattern of veloc-ity anomalies also indicates that NW faults,i.e.,the Puqian-Qinglan fault, may be shallower, while the E-W Wangwu-Wenjiao fault may be deeper, which perhaps extends down to Moho depth or deeper.

文摘The influence of formula fertilization optimization on dry rubber yield and economic benefits of the rubber plantation in Hainan Longjiang Farm were studied by using "contrast" design method of fertilizer field experiments. The results showed that the actual production rate reached 4.61% and the net production rate of dry rubber reached 3.97% by application of optimized fertilization formula. Analysis of variance showed that the average dry rubber yield in optimization of formula fertil- ization area was significantly higher than that of conventional area. The results also indicated that the optimization of formula fertilization had obvious economic benefits, and each rubber tree reduced cost and increased 9.95 yuan on average after the test.

文摘[Objective] This study investigated the spatial characteristics of counties (cities) with comparative advantages in watermelon and melon production to provide reference bases in formulating strategies for the development of watermelon and melon industries in Hainan Province. [Conclusion] The result has showed that establishing watermelon and melon as dominant agricultural prod- ucts is necessary for the future development of the industry and for the formulation of a layout of regions with advantages, where key support and construction should be provided preferentially with the aim to raise the yield, quality, and market com- petitiveness of products.
