In particular, the halo coronal mass ej...By analysing a long series of data (1996-2019), we show that solar cycle 23 was more marked by violent solar flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs) compared to solar cycle 24. In particular, the halo coronal mass ejections associated with X-class flares appear to be among the most energetic events in solar activity given the size of the flares, the speed of the CMEs and the intense geomagnetic storms they produce. Out of eighty-six (86) X-class halo CMEs, thirty-seven (37) or 43% are highly geoeffective;twenty-four (24) or approximately 28% are moderately geoeffective and twenty-five (25) or 29% are not geoeffective. Over the two solar cycles (1996 to 2019), 71% of storms were geoeffective and 29% were not. For solar cycle 23, about 78% of storms were geoeffective, while for solar cycle 24, about 56% were geoeffective. For the statistical study based on speed, 85 halo CMEs associated with X-class flares were selected because the CME of 6 December 2006 has no recorded speed value. For both solar cycles, 75.29% of the halo CMEs associated with X-class flares have a speed greater than 1000 km/s. The study showed that 42.18% of halo (X) CMEs with speeds above 1000 km/s could cause intense geomagnetic disturbances. These results show the contribution (in terms of speed) of each class of halo (X) CMEs to the perturbation of the Earth’s magnetic field. Coronal mass ejections then become one of the key indicators of solar activity, especially as they affect the Earth.展开更多
Low-electrode capacitive deionization(FCDI)is an emerging desalination technology with great potential for removal and/or recycling ions from a range of waters.However,it still suffers from inefficient charge transfer...Low-electrode capacitive deionization(FCDI)is an emerging desalination technology with great potential for removal and/or recycling ions from a range of waters.However,it still suffers from inefficient charge transfer and ion transport kinetics due to weak turbulence and low electric intensity in flow electrodes,both restricted by the current collectors.Herein,a new tip-array current collector(designated as T-CC)was developed to replace the conventional planar current collectors,which intensifies both the charge transfer and ion transport significantly.The effects of tip arrays on flow and electric fields were studied by both computational simulations and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy,which revealed the reduction of ion transport barrier,charge transport barrier and internal resistance.With the voltage increased from 1.0 to 1.5 and 2.0 V,the T-CC-based FCDI system(T-FCDI)exhibited average salt removal rates(ASRR)of 0.18,0.50,and 0.89μmol cm^(-2) min^(-1),respectively,which are 1.82,2.65,and 2.48 folds higher than that of the conventional serpentine current collectors,and 1.48,1.67,and 1.49 folds higher than that of the planar current collectors.Meanwhile,with the solid content in flow electrodes increased from 1 to 5 wt%,the ASRR for T-FCDI increased from 0.29 to 0.50μmol cm^(-2) min^(-1),which are 1.70 and 1.67 folds higher than that of the planar current collectors.Additionally,a salt removal efficiency of 99.89%was achieved with T-FCDI and the charge efficiency remained above 95%after 24 h of operation,thus showing its superior long-term stability.展开更多

Using the software ANSYS-19.2/Explicit Dynamics,this study performedfinite-element modeling of the large-diameter steel pipeline cross-section for the Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent gas pipeline with a non-through straight crac...Using the software ANSYS-19.2/Explicit Dynamics,this study performedfinite-element modeling of the large-diameter steel pipeline cross-section for the Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent gas pipeline with a non-through straight crack,strengthened by steel wire wrapping.The effects of the thread tensile force of the steel winding in the form of single rings at the crack edges and the wires with different winding diameters and pitches were also studied.The results showed that the strengthening was preferably executed at a minimum value of the thread tensile force,which was 6.4%more effective than that at its maximum value.The analysis of the influence of the winding dia-meters showed that the equivalent stresses increased by 32%from the beginning of the crack growth until the wire broke.The increment in winding diameter decelerated the disclosure of the edge crack and reduced its length by 8.2%.The analysis of the influence of the winding pitch showed that decreasing the distance between the winding turns also led to a 33.6%reduction in the length of the straight crack and a 7.9%reduction in the maximum stres-ses on the strengthened pipeline cross-section.The analysis of the temperature effect on the pipeline material,within a range from-40℃ to+50℃,resulted in a crack length change of up to 5.8%.As the temperature dropped,the crack length decreased.Within such a temperature range,the maximum stresses were observed along the cen-tral area of the crack,which were equal to 413 MPa at+50℃ and 440 MPa at-40℃.The results also showed that the presence of the steel winding in the pipeline significantly reduced the length of crack propagation up to 8.4 times,depending on the temperature effect and design parameters of prestressing.This work integrated the existing methods for crack localization along steel gas pipelines.展开更多
BACKGROUND Emotional reactions,such as anxiety,irritability,and aggressive behavior,have attracted clinical attention as behavioral and emotional problems in preschool-age children.AIM To investigate the current statu...BACKGROUND Emotional reactions,such as anxiety,irritability,and aggressive behavior,have attracted clinical attention as behavioral and emotional problems in preschool-age children.AIM To investigate the current status of family rearing,parental stress,and behavioral and emotional problems of preschool children and to analyze the mediating effect of the current status of family rearing on parental stress and behavioral/emo-tional problems.METHODS We use convenience sampling to select 258 preschool children in the physical examination center of our hospital from October 2021 to September 2023.The children and their parents were evaluated using a questionnaire survey.Pearson's correlation was used to analyze the correlation between child behavioral and emotional problems and parental stress and family rearing,and the structural equation model was constructed to test the mediating effect.RESULTS The score for behavioral/emotional problems of 258 preschool children was(27.54±3.63),the score for parental stress was(87.64±11.34),and the score for parental family rearing was(31.54±5.24).There was a positive correlation between the behavioral and emotional problems of the children and the“hostile/mandatory”parenting style;meanwhile,showed a negative correlation with the“support/participation”parenting style(all P<0.05).The intermediary effect value between the family upbringing of parents in parental stress and children's behavior problems was 29.89%.CONCLUSION Parental family upbringing has a mediating effect between parental stress and behavioral and emotional problems of children.Despite paying attention to the behavioral and emotional problems of preschool-age children,clinical medical staff should provide correct and reasonable parenting advice to their parents to promote the mental health of preschool-age children.展开更多
In the practice of healthcare,patient-reported outcomes(PROs)and PRO measures(PROMs)are used as an attempt to observe the changes in complex clinical situations.They guide us in making decisions based on the evidence ...In the practice of healthcare,patient-reported outcomes(PROs)and PRO measures(PROMs)are used as an attempt to observe the changes in complex clinical situations.They guide us in making decisions based on the evidence regarding patient care by recording the change in outcomes for a particular treatment to a given condition and finally to understand whether a patient will benefit from a particular treatment and to quantify the treatment effect.For any PROM to be usable in health care,we need it to be reliable,encapsulating the points of interest with the potential to detect any real change.Using structured outcome measures routinely in clinical practice helps the physician to understand the functional limitation of a patient that would otherwise not be clear in an office interview,and this allows the physician and patient to have a meaningful conver-sation as well as a customized plan for each patient.Having mentioned the rationale and the benefits of PROMs,understanding the quantification process is crucial before embarking on management decisions.A better interpretation of change needs to identify the treatment effect based on clinical relevance for a given condition.There are a multiple set of measurement indices to serve this effect and most of them are used interchangeably without clear demarcation on their differences.This article details the various quantification metrics used to evaluate the treatment effect using PROMs,their limitations and the scope of usage and implementation in clinical practice.展开更多
Rice leaffolder,Cnaphalocrocis medinalis(Guenée),has become a major pest throughout the rice cultivating areas of China and caused severe damage to rice production.Cnaphalocrocis medinalis granulovirus(CnmeGV),a ...Rice leaffolder,Cnaphalocrocis medinalis(Guenée),has become a major pest throughout the rice cultivating areas of China and caused severe damage to rice production.Cnaphalocrocis medinalis granulovirus(CnmeGV),a naturally occurring baculovirus,is revealed as a potential microbial agent for the pest control.Field applications of CnmeGV were conducted against rice leaffolder larvae in rice paddies.CnmeGV infected the larvae not only in the current generation but also in the successive generation,resulting in a sustained infection in the larva population for at least 48 days.Under diferent concentrations of CnmeGV(7.5×1011 and 1.125×1012 occlusion body(OB)ha-1)at 30 days after spraying,larval population reduced up to 76.32%and rice leaf rolled rate kept in 15.42%.Simultaneously,CnmeGV had no impact on arthropod predators of C.medinalis,with abundances ranging from 2.39 to 3.79 per ten hills.These results revealed that CnmeGV is suitable as a bio-pesticide for rice leaffolder management in rice paddies.展开更多

AIM To evaluate the effectiveness of quetiapine and haloperidol in patients of delirium referred to psychiatry consultation liaison services.METHODS The study followed a single blind randomised controlled trial design...AIM To evaluate the effectiveness of quetiapine and haloperidol in patients of delirium referred to psychiatry consultation liaison services.METHODS The study followed a single blind randomised controlled trial design.Thirty-two patients in the haloperidol group and 31 patients in the quetiapine group were assessed at the baseline and 6 consecutive days.Flexible dosing regimen(haloperidol:0.25-1.25 mg;quetiapine 12.5-75 mg/d) was used.Delirium Rating Scale-Revised-98(DRS-R-98) and mini mental status examination(MMSE) were the primary and secondary efficacy measures respectively.RESULTS Baseline DRS-R-98 severity score and MMSE scores did not differ between the 2 study groups.From baseline to day 6,there was significant reduction in the total DRS-R-98 scores,DRS-R-98 cognitive domain scores,DRS-R-98 non-cognitive domain scores and significant increase in the MMSE scores in both the groups.Both the groups did not differ on any of the assessments in terms of DRS-R98 and MMSE scores.The effectiveness of both the medications was similar in adult and elderly(≥ 60 years) patients.At the end of the trial,68.75% and 67.74% of subjects in the haloperidol and quetiapine group respectively had mean DRS-R-98 scores below 10.By 6th day,12(37.5%) patients in haloperidol group and 9(29.03%) patients in the quetiapine group hadDRS-R98 score of "0" with no significant difference between the two groups(P = 0.47).CONCLUSION Quetiapine is as effective as haloperidol in the management of delirium.展开更多

Synthetic fragrances have been found to affect not only perception of attraction, but also attribution of beauty-unrelated intrinsic characteristics. The present study aimed to examine the impact of perfume-gender congruency on ratings of attractiveness and any perfume-generated halo effect. Male faces categorized as low, medium and high attractiveness were rated by 36 heterosexual female students across six domains: attractive, reliable, outgoing, intelligent, wealthy and socially competent. Ratings were made in the presence of a female perfume (incongruent condition), male perfume (congruent condition) or a no perfume control condition, with participants randomly allocated to produce three groups of equal size. The results indicated that 1) attractiveness generated a significant halo effect;2) the male perfume did not significantly enhance perception of attractiveness compared to the female perfume;and 3) the gender-congruent fragrance heightened attribution of “halo” characteristics. These results indicate that gender congruent perfume can impact positively on first impressions beyond attractiveness, and are discussed in terms of possible mechanisms and implications.展开更多

Beauv.) as well as their safety to rice in rice direct-seeding paddy field, field efficacy experiments were carried out in Taoyuan County and Hanshou County of Hunan Province. The results showed that the control effect of different pesticide treatments on barnyard grass was good, and the control effect reached more than 93%. Of which, 10% metamifop EC 2 250 mL/hm^(2)+20% cyhalofop-butyl OD 1 500 mL/hm^(2)had the best control effect,exceeding 99% and each treatment had no significantly ponisonous to rice. However,considering cost-saving and effect-increasing, it was recommended to use 10%metamifop EC 1 050 mL/hm^(2)mixed with 20% cyhalofop-butyl OD 1 050 mL/hm^(2)for the control of barnyard grass, which not only had the effect of controlling barnyard grass, but also was safety to rice.展开更多

Our two-component modelprovides a strong lensing probability that is in good agreement with the observed distribution ofmultiple images of quasars, provided that the cooled baryons are deposited within a spherical regionof radius of 0.1 times the virial radius and follow an isothermal profile. It is pointed out thatstrong lensing may be used as an additional probe of baryon physics in dark halos though this maymeanwhile complicate the test of the inner density profiles of dark matter in halos using theobserved strong lensing probability.展开更多

文摘Rice leaffolder,Cnaphalocrocis medinalis(Guenée),has become a major pest throughout the rice cultivating areas of China and caused severe damage to rice production.Cnaphalocrocis medinalis granulovirus(CnmeGV),a naturally occurring baculovirus,is revealed as a potential microbial agent for the pest control.Field applications of CnmeGV were conducted against rice leaffolder larvae in rice paddies.CnmeGV infected the larvae not only in the current generation but also in the successive generation,resulting in a sustained infection in the larva population for at least 48 days.Under diferent concentrations of CnmeGV(7.5×1011 and 1.125×1012 occlusion body(OB)ha-1)at 30 days after spraying,larval population reduced up to 76.32%and rice leaf rolled rate kept in 15.42%.Simultaneously,CnmeGV had no impact on arthropod predators of C.medinalis,with abundances ranging from 2.39 to 3.79 per ten hills.These results revealed that CnmeGV is suitable as a bio-pesticide for rice leaffolder management in rice paddies.

文摘DNA photocleavage properties of halogenated mono-hydroxyl corrole 1-5 were investigated.It was found that these corroles were able to photocleavage supercoiled pBR 322 DNA(SC) into nicked-circular DNA(NC).The activity of these corroles follows an order of 4>3>2≈1>5.The photosensitized singlet oxygen(Φ;) quantum yield by these corroles also follows that same order,showing the photocleavage activity is related to the heavy atom effect of halogen atoms on corroles.
文摘Cis-trans isomerization of [9]-annulenanion(1) and its 2-fluoro-,2-chloro-and 2-bromo-derivatives(2,3 and 4,respectively) were investigated at the HF/6-31G* and B3LYP/6-311++G** levels of theory.Cis,cis,cis,cis structures appear more stable than their corresponding cis,cis,cis,trans-isomers.The relative height of energy barriers for cis-trans isomerization is:2cis 〉1cis 〉3cis〉 4cis.This trend for the reverse trans-cis isomerization follows the electronegativity of the substituent at C-2(2trans 3trans 4trans 1trans).
文摘AIM To evaluate the effectiveness of quetiapine and haloperidol in patients of delirium referred to psychiatry consultation liaison services.METHODS The study followed a single blind randomised controlled trial design.Thirty-two patients in the haloperidol group and 31 patients in the quetiapine group were assessed at the baseline and 6 consecutive days.Flexible dosing regimen(haloperidol:0.25-1.25 mg;quetiapine 12.5-75 mg/d) was used.Delirium Rating Scale-Revised-98(DRS-R-98) and mini mental status examination(MMSE) were the primary and secondary efficacy measures respectively.RESULTS Baseline DRS-R-98 severity score and MMSE scores did not differ between the 2 study groups.From baseline to day 6,there was significant reduction in the total DRS-R-98 scores,DRS-R-98 cognitive domain scores,DRS-R-98 non-cognitive domain scores and significant increase in the MMSE scores in both the groups.Both the groups did not differ on any of the assessments in terms of DRS-R98 and MMSE scores.The effectiveness of both the medications was similar in adult and elderly(≥ 60 years) patients.At the end of the trial,68.75% and 67.74% of subjects in the haloperidol and quetiapine group respectively had mean DRS-R-98 scores below 10.By 6th day,12(37.5%) patients in haloperidol group and 9(29.03%) patients in the quetiapine group hadDRS-R98 score of "0" with no significant difference between the two groups(P = 0.47).CONCLUSION Quetiapine is as effective as haloperidol in the management of delirium.

文摘This paper makes some qualitative and quantitative analyses about halo formation rules of some mirror nuclei with the relativistic mean-field (RMF) theory and the Woods Saxon mean-field model. By analysing two opposite effects of Coulomb interaction on the proton halo formation, it finds that the energy level shift has a larger contribution than that of the Coulomb barrier when the mass number A is small, the hindrance of the Coulomb barrier becomes more obvious with the increase of the mass number A, and the overall effect of the Coulomb interaction almost disappears when A ≈ 39 as its two effects counteract with each other.
文摘Four 9-halo prostaglandin derivatives were designed and synthesized. Their structures were confirmed by IR,~1HNMR, MS, etc. The effect on uterus contraction of ratswas studied in vitro. It was found that compound g-Br seemed to be the most sensitive andγ-Cl somewhat less, while a-Cl and a-Br had almost no action as compared with oxytocin(1 IU/ml).
文摘Research into the concept of attraction has indicated the existence of olfactory influences that go beyond pheromonal level. Synthetic fragrances have been found to affect not only perception of attraction, but also attribution of beauty-unrelated intrinsic characteristics. The present study aimed to examine the impact of perfume-gender congruency on ratings of attractiveness and any perfume-generated halo effect. Male faces categorized as low, medium and high attractiveness were rated by 36 heterosexual female students across six domains: attractive, reliable, outgoing, intelligent, wealthy and socially competent. Ratings were made in the presence of a female perfume (incongruent condition), male perfume (congruent condition) or a no perfume control condition, with participants randomly allocated to produce three groups of equal size. The results indicated that 1) attractiveness generated a significant halo effect;2) the male perfume did not significantly enhance perception of attractiveness compared to the female perfume;and 3) the gender-congruent fragrance heightened attribution of “halo” characteristics. These results indicate that gender congruent perfume can impact positively on first impressions beyond attractiveness, and are discussed in terms of possible mechanisms and implications.

文摘In order to explore the control effects of 10% metamifop EC and 20%cyhalofop-butyl OD on barnyard grass(Echinochloa crusgalli(L.) Beauv.) as well as their safety to rice in rice direct-seeding paddy field, field efficacy experiments were carried out in Taoyuan County and Hanshou County of Hunan Province. The results showed that the control effect of different pesticide treatments on barnyard grass was good, and the control effect reached more than 93%. Of which, 10% metamifop EC 2 250 mL/hm^(2)+20% cyhalofop-butyl OD 1 500 mL/hm^(2)had the best control effect,exceeding 99% and each treatment had no significantly ponisonous to rice. However,considering cost-saving and effect-increasing, it was recommended to use 10%metamifop EC 1 050 mL/hm^(2)mixed with 20% cyhalofop-butyl OD 1 050 mL/hm^(2)for the control of barnyard grass, which not only had the effect of controlling barnyard grass, but also was safety to rice.

文摘We present an estimate of the strong lensing probability by dark ha-los, withemphasis on the role of the baryonic matter arising purely from radiative cooling. We treat thecontribution of the cooled baryons optimistically with all the cooled baryons confined within acentral core, and including no feedback process from stellar evolution. Our two-component modelprovides a strong lensing probability that is in good agreement with the observed distribution ofmultiple images of quasars, provided that the cooled baryons are deposited within a spherical regionof radius of 0.1 times the virial radius and follow an isothermal profile. It is pointed out thatstrong lensing may be used as an additional probe of baryon physics in dark halos though this maymeanwhile complicate the test of the inner density profiles of dark matter in halos using theobserved strong lensing probability.
