In this paper,we give the geometric constraint conditions of a canonical symplectic form and regular reduced symplectic forms for the dynamical vector fields of a regular controlled Hamiltonian(RCH)system and its regular reduced systems,which are called the Type I and Type II Hamilton-Jacobi equations.First,we prove two types of Hamilton-Jacobi theorems for an RCH system on the cotangent bundle of a configuration manifold by using the canonical symplectic form and its dynamical vector field.Second,we generalize the above results for a regular reducible RCH system with symmetry and a momentum map,and derive precisely two types of Hamilton-Jacobi equations for the regular point reduced RCH system and the regular orbit reduced RCH system.Third,we prove that the RCH-equivalence for the RCH system,and the RpCH-equivalence and RoCH-equivalence for the regular reducible RCH systems with symmetries,leave the solutions of corresponding Hamilton-Jacobi equations invariant.Finally,as an application of the theoretical results,we show the Type I and Type II Hamilton-Jacobi equations for the Rp-reduced controlled rigid body-rotor system and the Rp-reduced controlled heavy top-rotor system on the generalizations of the rotation group SO(3)and the Euclidean group SE(3),respectively.This work reveals the deeply internal relationships of the geometrical structures of phase spaces,the dynamical vector fields and the controls of the RCH system. 展开更多

Explicit K-symplectic methods for nonseparable non-canonical Hamiltonian systems

We propose efficient numerical methods for nonseparable non-canonical Hamiltonian systems which are explicit,K-symplectic in the extended phase space with long time energy conservation properties. They are based on extending the original phase space to several copies of the phase space and imposing a mechanical restraint on the copies of the phase space. Explicit K-symplectic methods are constructed for two non-canonical Hamiltonian systems. Numerical tests show that the proposed methods exhibit good numerical performance in preserving the phase orbit and the energy of the system over long time, whereas higher order Runge–Kutta methods do not preserve these properties. Numerical tests also show that the K-symplectic methods exhibit better efficiency than that of the same order implicit symplectic, explicit and implicit symplectic methods for the original nonseparable non-canonical systems. On the other hand, the fourth order K-symplectic method is more efficient than the fourth order Yoshida’s method, the optimized partitioned Runge–Kutta and Runge–Kutta–Nystr ¨om explicit K-symplectic methods for the extended phase space Hamiltonians, but less efficient than the the optimized partitioned Runge–Kutta and Runge–Kutta–Nystr ¨om extended phase space symplectic-like methods with the midpoint permutation. 展开更多

The symplectic Runge- Kutta (RK) method is an important part of the former, and the continuous finite element method (CFEM) belongs to the later. We find and prove the equivalence of one kind of the implicit RK method and the CFEM, give the coefficient table of the CFEM to simplify its computation, propose a new standard to measure algorithms for Hamiltonian systems, and define another class of algorithms --the regular method. The generalized Hamiltonian equations of the systems are given on the basis of the transformation operators in the space of discrete Hamiltonians. The Lie transformations acting on the lattice, as well as the equations and the determining equations of the Lie symmetries are obtained for the nonholonomic Hamiltonian systems. The discrete analogue of the Noether conserved quantity is constructed by using the Lie point symmetries. An example is discussed to illustrate the results. 展开更多

In this paper the energy diffusion controlled reaction rate in dissipative Hamiltonian systems is investigated by using the stochastic averaging method for quasi Hamiltonian systems. The boundary value problem of mean first- passage time (MFPT) of averaged system is formulated and the energy diffusion controlled reaction rate is obtained as the inverse of MFPT. The energy diffusion controlled reaction rate in the classical Kramers bistable potential and in a two-dimensional bistable potential with a heat bath are obtained by using the proposed approach respectively. The obtained results are then compared with those from Monte Carlo simulation of original systems and from the classical Kraraers theory. It is shown that the reaction rate obtained by using the proposed approach agrees well with that from Monte Carlo simulation and is more accurate than the classical Kramers rate. 展开更多

Projected Runge-Kutta (R-K) methods for constrained Hamiltonian systems are proposed. Dynamic equations of the systems, which are index-3 differential-algebraic equations (DAEs) in the Heisenberg form, are established under the framework of Lagrangian multipliers. R-K methods combined with the technique of projections are then used to solve the DAEs. The basic idea of projections is to eliminate the constraint violations at the position, velocity, and acceleration levels, and to preserve the total energy of constrained Hamiltonian systems by correcting variables of the position, velocity, acceleration, and energy. Numerical results confirm the validity and show the high precision of the proposed method in preserving three levels of constraints and total energy compared with results reported in the literature. 展开更多

By the stochastic averaging method of energy envelope, the system's energy can be modeled as a one-dimensional approximate diffusion process by which the classical Pontryagin equation with suitable boundary conditions is applicable to analyzing the statistical moments of the first-passage time of an arbitrary order. The optimal control law is derived from the dynamical programming equation and the bounded control constraints.The response of optimally controlled systems is predicted through solving the FPK equation associated with It stochastic differential equation.An example is worked out in detail to illustrate the application of the control strategy proposed. 展开更多
