As a key to improve the performance of the interbay automated material handling system (AMHS) in 300 mm semiconductor wafer fabrication system, the real- time overhead hoist transport (OHT) dispatching problem has...As a key to improve the performance of the interbay automated material handling system (AMHS) in 300 mm semiconductor wafer fabrication system, the real- time overhead hoist transport (OHT) dispatching problem has received much attention. This problem is first formu- lated as a special form of assignment problem and it is proved that more than one solution will be obtained by Hungarian algorithm simultaneously. Through proposing and strictly proving two propositions related to the char- acteristics of these solutions, a modified Hungarian algo- rithm is designed to distinguish these solutions. Finally, a new real-time OHT dispatching method is carefully designed by implementing the solution obtained by the modified Hungarian algorithm. The experimental results of discrete event simulations show that, compared with con- ventional Hungarian algorithm dispatching method, the proposed dispatching method that chooses the solution with the maximum variance respectively reduces on average 4 s of the average waiting time and average lead time of wafer lots, and its performance is rather stable in multiple dif- ferent scenarios of the interbay AMHS with different quantities of shortcuts. The objective of this study was to identify the impact of the coke handling and storage system on the emission of PM10 particulate material.The methodology was based on AP-42 emission factors from U.S.EPA(United State...The objective of this study was to identify the impact of the coke handling and storage system on the emission of PM10 particulate material.The methodology was based on AP-42 emission factors from U.S.EPA(United States Environmental Protection Agency)for the calculation of PM10 emissions from operations in the handling and storage of petroleum coke in an oil refinery in the northeastern of Brazil.The knowledge of the emission potential of each operation of the coke handling and storage system allows the adoption of more effective control measures,contributing to the effective reduction of PM10 emissions in this system.To complement the environmental impact assessment of each configuration,an air quality modelling was performed using the atmospheric dispersion software.The comparison performed in this study enables authors to conclude,even for a totally mechanic system,that adopts control measures,PM10 emissions are low when confronted with the remaining sources of an oil refinery.By analyzing emissions from automated systems operation(scenario 1),it can be observed that the source with higher emission potential is the stockpile,which represents 60%of the system’s emission.Transfer and transport operations by conveyor belts together correspond to 40%of emissions.Even though transfer operations also represent a significant part(27%),they are not clustered in a unique point,making these emissions abatement difficult.The same is valid for transport using conveyor belts.Emissions from the piles are really the most significant.For this reason,this work concentrated efforts in the storage area,the ones that motivate the majority of studies relating to abatement technologies.展开更多

In contrast, automated material handling vehicles have the advantages of zero emissions, low noise, and low vibration, thus avoiding exhaust pollution and providing a more comfortable working environment for operators. In order to achieve the goals of “peaking carbon emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060”, the use of environmentally friendly autonomous material handling vehicles for material transportation is an inevitable trend. To maximize the amount of transported materials, consider peak-to-valley electricity pricing, battery pack procurement, and the construction of charging and swapping stations while achieving “minimum daily transportation volume” and “lowest investment and operational cost over a 3-year settlement period” with the shortest overall travel distance for all material handling vehicles, this paper examines two different scenarios and establishes goal programming models. The appropriate locations for material handling vehicle swapping stations and vehicle battery pack scheduling schemes are then developed using the NSGA-II algorithm and ant colony optimization algorithm. The results show that, while ensuring a daily transportation volume of no less than 300 vehicles, the lowest investment and operational cost over a 3-year settlement period is approximately 24.1 million Yuan. The material handling vehicles follow the shortest path of 119.2653 km passing through the designated retrieval points and have two shortest routes. Furthermore, the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed models are analyzed, followed by an evaluation, deepening, and potential extension of the models. Finally, future research directions in this field are suggested.展开更多
Dear Editor,In this letter,a novel hierarchical fusion framework is proposed to address the imperfect data property in complex medical image analysis(MIA)scenes.In particular,by combining the strengths of convolutiona...Dear Editor,In this letter,a novel hierarchical fusion framework is proposed to address the imperfect data property in complex medical image analysis(MIA)scenes.In particular,by combining the strengths of convolutional neural networks(CNNs)and transformers,the enhanced feature extraction,spatial modeling,and sequential context learning are realized to provide comprehensive insights on the complex data patterns.Integration of information in different level is enabled via a multi-attention fusion mechanism,and the tensor decomposition methods are adopted so that compact and distinctive representation of the underlying and high-dimensional medical image features can be accomplished[1].It is shown from the evaluation results that the proposed framework is competitive and superior as compared with some other advanced algorithms,which effectively handles the imperfect property of inter-class similarity and intra-class differences in diseases,and meanwhile,the model complexity is reduced within an acceptable level,which benefits the deployment in clinic practice.MIA has assumed a pivotal role in numerous critical clinical scenarios,where sophisticated image analysis techniques have proven instrumental in augmenting medical decision-making,facilitating individualized therapeutic interventions,and enhancing patient prognostication[2]−[4].展开更多
Hydraulic manipulators are usually applied in heavy-load and harsh operation tasks.However,when faced with a complex operation,the traditional proportional-integral-derivative(PID)control may not meet requirements for...Hydraulic manipulators are usually applied in heavy-load and harsh operation tasks.However,when faced with a complex operation,the traditional proportional-integral-derivative(PID)control may not meet requirements for high control performance.Model-based full-state-feedback control is an effective alternative,but the states of a hydraulic manipulator are not always available and reliable in practical applications,particularly the joint angular velocity measurement.Considering that it is not suitable to obtain the velocity signal directly from differentiating of position measurement,the low-pass filtering is commonly used,but it will definitely restrict the closed-loop bandwidth of the whole system.To avoid this problem and realize better control performance,this paper proposes a novel observerbased adaptive robust controller(obARC)for a multi-joint hydraulic manipulator subjected to both parametric uncertainties and the lack of accurate velocity measurement.Specifically,a nonlinear adaptive observer is first designed to handle the lack of velocity measurement with the consideration of parametric uncertainties.Then,the adaptive robust control is developed to compensate for the dynamic uncertainties,and the close-loop system robust stability is theoretically proved under the observation and control errors.Finally,comparative experiments are carried out to show that the designed controller can achieve a performance improvement over the traditional methods,specifically yielding better control accuracy owing to the closed-loop bandwidth breakthrough,which is limited by low-pass filtering in fullstate-feedback control.展开更多
At present,air handling units are usually used indoors to improve the indoor environment quality.However,while introducing fresh air to improve air quality,air velocity has a certain impact on the occupants’thermal c...At present,air handling units are usually used indoors to improve the indoor environment quality.However,while introducing fresh air to improve air quality,air velocity has a certain impact on the occupants’thermal comfort.Therefore,it is necessary to explore the optimization of air-fluid-body interaction dynamics.In this study,the indoor air flow was changed by changing the opening and closing degree of the blower,and the thermal manikin is introduced to objectively evaluate the human thermal comfort under different air velocities.The main experimental results show that the air change rate increases with the increase of the opening and closing degree of the blower considering an ACH(air changes per hour)range between 3.8 and 10.For a better prediction,a linear correlation with a coefficient of 0.995 is proposed.As the blower’s opening is adjusted to 20%,25%,30%,35%,and 40%,the air velocity sensor positioned directly beneath the air inlet records average velocities of 0.19,0.20,0.21,0.28,and 0.34 m/s over four hours,respectively.Observations on thermal comfort and the average sensation experienced by individuals indicate an initial increase followed by a decline when the blower’s operation begins,with optimal conditions achieved at a 35%opening.These findings offer valuable insights for future indoor air ventilation and heat transfer design strategies.展开更多
