The paper proves the feasibility of using the heat-feeding mode of ASHPs for urban heat supply by heating the network water with steam taken from the turbine. The ratio of electric and thermal power of a “nuclear” combined heat and power plant is given. The advantage of using a heat pump, which provides twice as much electrical power with the same heat output, is established. Taking into account that heat in these modes is supplied with different potential, the energy efficiency was used to compare these options. To increase the heat supply capacity, a scheme with the use of a high-pressure heater in the backpressure mode and with the heating of network water with hot steam was proposed. Heat supply from ASHPs is efficient and environmentally friendly even in the case of significant remoteness of heat consumers.展开更多

The governing non-linear partial differential equations describing the problem are reduced to a system of non-linear ordinary differential equations using similarity transformations solved numerically using the Chebyshev spectral method. Numerical results for velocity, angular velocity and temperature profiles are shown graphically and discussed for different values of the inverse Darcy number, the heat generation/absorption parameter, and the melting parameter. The effects of the pertinent parameters on the local skin-friction coefficient, the wall couple stress, and the local Nusselt number are tabulated and discussed. The results show that the inverse Darcy number has the effect of enhancing both velocity and temperature and suppressing angular velocity. It is also found that the local skin-friction coefficient decreases, while the local Nusselt number increases as the melting parameter increases.展开更多

It is assumed that the permeable plate is embedded in a uniform porous medium and moves with a constant velocity in the flow direction in the presence of a transverse magnetic field. It is also assumed that the free stream consists of a mean velocity, temperature and concentration over which are super imposed an exponentially varying with time. The equations of continuity, momentum, energy and diffusion, which govern the flow field, are solved by using a regular perturbation method. The behavior of the velocity, temperature, concentration, Skin-friction, rate of heat transfer and rate of mass transfer has been discussed for variations in the physical parameters. An increase in both Pr and R results a decrease in thermal boundary layer thickness. However, concentration decreases as Kr, Sc increase but it increases with an increase in both So and δ.展开更多

Spin-polarized current is generated owing to the Zeeman splitting of the dot level. The current's strength and the spin polarization are further manipulated by changing the frequency of an applied photon field and the ferromagnetism on the leads. We find that the associated heat by this spin- polarized current emerges even if the bias voltage is smaller than the phonon energy quanta and obvious negative differential of the heat generation develops when the photon frequency exceeds that of the phonon. It is also found that both the strength and the resonant peaks' position of the heat generation can be tuned by changing the value and the arrangement configurations of the magnetic moments of the two leads, and then provides an effective method to generate large spin-polarized current with weak heat. Such a result may be useful in designing low energy consumption spintronic devices.展开更多

It is found that the phenomenon of the negative differential of the heat current, which has previously been predicted in the charge-based device, disappears due to the Pauli exclusion principle resulted from the presence of the spin battery. Under some conditions, huge heat in the heat generation induced by resonant phonon emitting processes also disappears in this spin-based device. Furthermore, we find that the ferromagnetism of the lead can be used to effectively adjust the magnitude of the heat current in different dot level ranges. The proposed system is realizable by current technology and may be useful in designing high-efficiency spintronic components.展开更多

The unsteadiness is caused by the time dependent free stream velocity varying arbitrarily with time. Non-similar solutions are obtained nu- merically by solving the coupled nonlinear partial differential equations using the quasi- linearization technique in combination with an implicit finite difference scheme. To reveal the tendency of the solutions, typical results for the local skin friction coefficient and the local Nusselt and Sherwood numbers are presented for different values of parameters. The effects of various parameters on the velocity, temperature, and concentration distributions are discussed here. The present numerical results are compared with the previously published work, and the results are found to be in excellent agreement.展开更多

Reformulating the heat generation rate, we find alternative current-force pairs without cross effects, which enable us to interpret the product of each pair as a distinct mechanism of heat generation. The results show that the spin-dependent part of the heat generation includes two terms. One is proportional to the square of the spin accumulation and arises from the spin relaxation. However, the other is proportional to the square of the spin-accumulation gradient and should be attributed to another mechanism, the spin diffusion. We illustrate the characteristics of the two mechanisms in a typical spin valve with a finite nonmagnetic spacer layer.展开更多

The present numerical results are compared with the previously published work, and the results are found to be in excellent agreement.
文摘The methods and techniques commonly used in investigating the change of entropy and heat generation in Li cells/batteries are introduced, as are the measurements, calculations and purposes. The changes of entropy and heat generation are concomitant with the use of Li ceUs/batteries. In order to improve the management and the application of Li cells/batteries, especially for large scale power batteries, the quantitative investigations of the change of entropy and heat generating are necessary.
文摘The present article comprises the study on the influence of exponential space based heat generation on the non-Darcy-Forchheimer flow of carbon nanotubes(CNTs).The flow is considered over a curved stretching sheet.Similarity variables are used to reduce the flow descriptive nonlinear partial derivative equations to simple equations.Simplified equations are then solved by the exploiting Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg fourth-and fifth-order methods.Obtained numerical solutions are shown in graphs and tables.Comparison between single and multi-walled CNTs has been established through the tabulated values and plotted graphs. It is concluded that the heat source parameter plays a prime role in enhancement of temperature, and the curvature parameter has adverse impact on velocity and temperature panels. Both the inertial parameter and inverse-Darcy number affect the fluid velocity.

文摘The extra heat generation in spin transport is usually interpreted in terms of the spin relaxation. We illustrate the characteristics of the two mechanisms in a typical spin valve with a finite nonmagnetic spacer layer.
文摘In this study, the impacts of internal heat generation on heat transfer enhancement of porous fin is theoretical investigated using differential transform method. The parametric studies reveal that porosity enhances the fin heat dissipating capacity but the internal heat generation decreases the heat enhancement capacity of extended surface. Also,it is established that when the internal heat parameter increases to some certain values, some negative effects are recorded where the fin stores heat rather than dissipating it.This scenario defeats the prime purpose of the cooling fin.Additionally,it is established in the present study that the limiting value of porosity parameter for thermal stability for the passive device increases as internal heat parameter increases. This shows that although the internal heat parameter can help assist higher range and value of thermal stability of the fin,it produces negative effect which greatly defeats the ultimate purpose of the fin.The results in the work will help in fin design for industrial applications where internal heat generation is involved.

文摘Induction brazecoating technology is an important means to improve the surface properties of materials. In this paper, copper plate and corundum are selected as substrates for induction brazecoating respectively. The temperature variation of powder and paste coating is systematically studied, and the heat conduction mode and path in the brazecoating process are analyzed. The results show that rise of the coating temperature mainly depends on the heat absorption from the substrate. The liquid-solid interface conducts heat violently and advances step by step, which promotes the melting spread of metal filler metal. The powdery brazecoating material is in a free state, and there is a gas insulation film between the powder particles and the diamond, making it difficult for substrate to conduct heat to the coating. The binder not only assists forming, shell making and oxygen isolation, but also plays an important role during melting.
