Male Reproductive System and Spermatogenesis in Homoptera(Insecta:Hemiptera)

Morphology of the male reproductive system, chromosome behaviors during meiosis and spem tail structures in Homoptera and Heteroptera are compared in this paper. The sheathed testis is found in Fulgoroidea and Heteroptera, and unsheathed testis occurs in Cicadoidea, Cicadelloidea, Cercopoidea, Membracoidea, Psyloidea, Aphidoidea, Aleyrodoidea and Coccoidea. The testis also can be divide into three types by the shape of testicular follicles. The sphere-shaped type is found in Cicadoidea, Cicadelloidea, Cercopoidea, Membracoidea, Aphidoidea and Aleyrodoidea, the tube-shaped type observed in Fulgoroidea, Psyloidea and Coccoidea, and the lamella-shaped type represented by Heteroptera. It is suggested the unsheathed testis may be the primitive type in Homoptera. Meiosis can be divided into 6 type at least, i.e. 1） Cicadoid type; 2） Fulgoroid type; 3） Psyloid type; 4） Aphidoid type; 5） Aleyrodoid type; and 6） Coccoid type. At least four groups exhibit a diffuse stage during meiosis prophase l, they are Psyloidea, Fulgoroidea, Coccoidea and Heteroptera. Sperm tail structures are similar to those reported from other insects with a typical 9＋9＋2 axoneme except that in Aleyrodoidea and Coccoidea whose sperm tail is degenerated.

Isoenzymes for Four Coreid Species Identification (Hemiptera: Coreidae)

The vertical slab polyacrylamide gel electrophoretic technique is used to examine the esterase isozyme of four species (Hemiptera: Coreidae), the analysis has revealed that esterase zymogram can be divided into four zones. Esterase zymogram of intergeneric species show distinct difference, while some intrageneric common features are discovered. The clustering analysis shows that the taxonomic status of 4 species, and sex variance is bigger than individuals and is smaller than species.

Studies on the Karyotype of Two Species in Orius Wolff (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Anthocoridae)

The karyotype of two Chinese species in Orius were studied in male germ cells prepared on air dried slides stained with Giemsa. It is reported that two species have 24 chromosomes in diploid and X Y sex chromosomal mechanism. But the beha vior of chromosomes during meiosis between two species is different. Which show in the arrangment and location of the X chromosome and autosome at the late diakinesis as well as metaphase stage respectively and so on. These characteristics may be used in ta xonomy among species of Orius .

Studies on the Karyotype of Three Species in the Genus Orius Wolff (Hemiptera:Anthocoridae)

Karyotype of 3 species of the genus Orius Wolff were firstly studied using the Giemsa staining and squashing slides method in male germ cell. It is reported that number of chromosome and system of sex chromosome of haploid chromosome complement of these species is n=11A＋X （Y） in the first meiotic stage. However, the behavior of chromosomes among the species are different distinctly, thus cytotaxonomic character can be adopted to the identification among the three species.

Oncopsis nigrofaciala sp. nov., a new Macropsinae species (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae) from China

A New Species of Menida Motschulsky from China with a Redescription of Menida salvazana Distant (Hemiptera:Pentatomidae)

In this paper,a new species of pentatomid bug Menida speciosa Zheng & Xiong,sp.nov.is described from southwestern part of Yunnan Province of China;and the Menida salvazana Distant 1921 is redescribed and figured based upon the type material.

A New Record Genus Polyamia DeLong,with Two New Species (Hemiptera:Cicadellidae:Deltocephalinae) from China

In the present paper, Polyamia DeLong is firstly recorded with two new species ——Polyamia penistenuis, sp. nov. and Polyamia drepananiforma, sp. nov. from China. The type specimens are deposited in the Entomological Museum of the Northwest Sci-Tech University of Agriculture and Forestry, Yangling, Shaanxi, China.

A review of the genus Thabena St?l(Hemiptera:Fulgoromorpha:Issidae) from China with description of one new species

The planthopper genus Thabena Stal, 1861 （Hemiptera： Fulgoromorpha： Issidae： Issini） is reviewed to include four species from China： T hainanensis （Ran ＆ Liang, 2006） （China： Hainan）, T. lanpingensis sp. nov. （China： Yunnan）, T. litaoensis （Yang, 1994） （China： Taiwan, Hainan） and T. yunnanensis （Ran ＆ Liang, 2006） （China： Yunnan）. Two species, T. lanpingensis and T. litaoensis, are described or redescribed and illustrated. A key to all species of Thabena in China is given.

Lissonotocoris, the First Record Genus of Carventinae (Hemiptera: Aradidae) from China

Lissonotocoris Usinger ＆ Matsuda, 1959 and L. rnembranaceus Usinger ＆ Matsuda are recorded from China for the first time. The male of L. rnembranaceus is redescribed and the diagnostic morphological features of species are illustrated.

Checklist of Tessaratomidae(Hemiptera:Pentatomoidea) from China

A checklist of Tessaratomidae from China, including 2 subfamilies, 12 genera, and 36 species, is presented. This compilation contains the complete geographical distribution for each species in China. Pycanum ponderosum Stal, 1854 and Dalcantha inermipes Stal, 1863 are newly recorded from China.

Phylogeny of the subgenus Singhardina Mahmood (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae: Typhlocybinae: Typhlocybini) from China based on nuclear and mitochondrial gene sequences

Fragments of nuclear ribosomal 28S rDNA D2 divergent domain, mitochondrial 16S rDNA, and COI partial genes of 15 species in the subgenus Singhardina Mahmood from China were amplified and sequenced. Molecular phylogenetic trees were constructed using maximum parsimony, maximum likelihood and Bayesian inference methods. Results from these methods revealed similar topologies with recognizable relationships among subclades. The phylogenetic relationship of four species groups of subgenus Singhardina Mahmood from China is discussed for the first time. The results show that Singhardina Mahmood forms a single lineage representing a monophyletic group. The Eurhadina （Singhardina） rubra species group newly proposed in this study is likely the most basal species group within Singhardina Mahmood. The E. （Singhardina） robusta species group is the sister group of the E. （Singhardina） mamata species group. Molecular evidence supports including the E. （Singhardina） vittata species group in the E. （Singhardina） punjabensis species group.

Identification of Macropterous Individual of Cixiopsis punctatus(Hemiptera:Fulgoroidea:Tropiduchidae) Based on Morphological and Molecular Data

The macropterous individual of Cixiopsis punctatus Matsumura is recognized based on morphological comparison and the mitochondrial COI gene sequences.The pairwise distances among the specimens examined ranged from 0 to 0.0228.Mean distance between macropterous female（Cixiopsis sp.） and 5 brachypterous specimens of Cixiopsis punctatus is 0.0161,which was close enough to consider the macropterous female and brachypterous specimens to be the same species.The external morphology of macropterous female of Cixiopsis punctatus is firstly illustrated and described.

Two species in the soft scale genus Kilifia(Hemiptera:Coccoidea:Coccidae) newly recorded from China

Two soft scales, Kilifia deltoides De Lotto, 1965 and K. americana Ben-Dov, 1979 are recorded from Hainan, China for the first time. Detailed descriptions and illustrations of adult females are given. A key to the Chinese species of adult females is provided. The specimens examined are deposited in the Entomological Museum of Northwest A ＆ F University, Yangling, Shaanxi, China （NWAFU）.

Dolichothyreus,the First Record Genus of Mezirinae(Hemiptera:Aradidae)from China

Dolichothyreus Usinger ＆ Matsuda, 1959 and D. stigmatus Usinger ＆ Matsuda are recorded from China for the first time. The male of D. stigmatus is redescribed and the diagnostic morphological features of species are illustrated.

A New Record Leafhopper Genus Sonronius Dorst(Hemiptera:Cicadellidae:Deltocephalinae)from China

Notes on the quercus group in the leafhopper genus Typhlocyba Germar(Hemiptera:Cicadellidae:Typhlocy-binae) from China with descriptions of three new species

The quercus group in the genus Typhlocyba from China is reviewed. Three new species are described and illustrated： T. choui sp. nov., T. daliensis sp. nov. and T. trimaculata sp. nov. One species, T. quercus （Fabricius, 1777）, is newly recorded from China. A key to males of the quercus group in China is provided.

A new species of Catonidia Uhler(Hemiptera:Fulgoromorpha:Achilidae) from China

Dictyotenguna choui,a new genus and species of Dictyopharinae(Hemiptera:Fulgoromorpha:Dictyophar-idae) from China

A new Oriental dictyopharid genus and species, Dictyotenguna choui gen. n., sp. n., is described and illustrated from China. A brief review of the family Dictyopharidae from the Oriental and eastern Palaearctic Regions is provided.

One new species of the Chinese endemic delphacid genus Belocera Muir (Hemiptera: Fulgoroidea) with a key to all species

A new species of the Chinese endemic delphacid genus Belocera Muir, B. parafuscifrons sp. nov., is described and illustrated form Yunnan Province in southwestern China. An identification key to males of all Belocera species worldwide is provided. Photographs of adult habitus and illustrations of male and female genitalia of this new species are given.
