BACKGROUND We report the case of a postmenopausal female with a hemorrhagic Bartholin’s cyst who has been using an antiplatelet medication.CASE SUMMARY A postmenopausal woman,84 years of age,had a medical history of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, coronary artery disease(three-vessel disease),chronic kidney disease(stage 3),and dementia. The patient has been taking clopidogrel,an antiplatelet medication, for several years. She presented at our outpatient clinic complaining of painful swelling over her left vulva for several days.A Bartholin’s cyst over the left vulva was suspected, and the patient underwent marsupialization under local anesthesia, which was well-tolerated.During the incision procedure,bright-red blood with some blood clots was discharged, and a hemorrhagic Bartholin’s cyst was observed. There was no recurrence of the hemorrhagic Bartholin’s cyst during the 6-mo subsequent follow-up period.CONCLUSION Hemorrhagic Bartholin’s cysts rarely occur. We report the case of a postmenopausal female with a hemorrhagic Bartholin’s cyst who had been on antiplatelets and was successfully treated with marsupialization. No recurrence was noted during the 6-mo follow-up period.Older females taking antiplatelets should be cautious of bleeding when presenting with a Bartholin’s cyst. 展开更多

Objective:To investigate the diagnostic effects of enhanced CT scan on hemorrhage corpus luteum cyst(HCLC).Methods:The clinical data of 24 patients with hemorrhage corpus luteum cyst diagnosed by surgery and pathology in our hospital were collected. All patients received enhanced CT scan to evaluate the diagnostic value of CT.Results:The average diameter of the cysts in this group of patients was 5.1cm by CT.Further detection of the ruptured cyst wall showed that there was a liquid lowdensity shadow. Some of the cysts were accompanied by signs of increased density, indicating the presence of blood clots;all patients received surgical treatment.Intraoperative ultrasound examination of the cysts had an average diameter of 5.2cm and a wall of 0.2~0.4mm.Among them,19 cases of cysts contained"coffee-colored"liquid with varying degrees of blood clots, and 5 cases had no blood clots in the cysts but there were a lot of blood clots beside the cysts. Conclusion:The application of enhanced CT scan in patients with hemorrhage corpus luteum cyst is of great value. It can provide accurate data reference for clinical treatment and is worthy of promoting its clinical application. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Splenic peliosis is a disease characterized by widespread blood-filled cystic cavities within the parenchyma. Patients with this disease are usually asymptomatic;therefore, spontaneous or trauma-related rupture of the hemorrhagic cysts can occasionally cause life-threatening hemorrhagic shock.CASE SUMMARY A 51-year-old male patient with abdominal pain visited our emergency medical center two times with an interval of 2 mo. The patient was discharged from the hospital without treatment at his first visit;however, at the time of second admission, the hemoperitoneum with multiple cystic lesions of the spleen was found incidentally on the abdomen computed tomography scan. Since the patient was stable hemodynamically, a scheduled surgery was performed. The operative findings were consistent with splenic peliosis, and laparoscopic splenectomy was performed to prevent recurrent rupture of the hemorrhagic cysts.CONCLUSION Splenic peliosis is extremely rare, and we suggest splenectomy is necessarily required as a definite treatment for ruptured splenic peliosis to rescue patients with hemodynamic instability and to prevent recurrent rupture of hemorrhagic cysts in patients with stable hemodynamics. 展开更多

Gynecologic and obstetric disorders presenting with abdominal pain are ectopic pregnancy, rupture of endometrial cysts, mature cystic teratoma and torsion of the adnexae. Hemorrhagic ovarian cysts, which included among the functional cysts, are often involved in acute abdomen leading to laparotomy intervention. 展开更多
