The Henry’s law constant of volatiles in polymer systems is a crucial parameter reflecting the gas-liquid equilibrium,which is very important for devolatilization.In this research,polyolefin elastomer(POE)-cyclohexan...The Henry’s law constant of volatiles in polymer systems is a crucial parameter reflecting the gas-liquid equilibrium,which is very important for devolatilization.In this research,polyolefin elastomer(POE)-cyclohexane and polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)-hexane systems were studied,and the Henry’s law constant was obtained by measuring the gas phase equilibrium partial pressure when polymer solutions containing different mass fractions of volatiles reached a saturated state.The effects of temperature,type of volatiles,and polymer viscosity on the gas phase equilibrium partial pressure and Henry’s law constant of the volatiles were investigated.The results indicate that,with the increase of temperature and polymer viscosity,the gas phase equilibrium partial pressure and Henry’s law constant of volatiles increase.As temperature increases,the solubility of gas in liquid decreases.The relationship between the Henry’s law constant and temperature is consistent with the Arrhenius law.In the PDMS-hexane system,the gas phase equilibrium partial pressure and Henry’s law constant of n-hexane are higher than those of cyclohexane.The obtained Henry’s law constants can be used as a reference for perfecting the devolatilization process and improving the devolatilization effect.展开更多

In the novel"A Farewell to Arms", Frederick Henry and Catherine Barkly are both Hemingway code characters who carry out the code very well and both show their grace under pressure in face of death, misery and disorder.Yet, an indepth study shows that the development levels of the two Hemingway code heroes are not the same.Catherine is the initi-ated, developed, and established code hero while Frederick is a developing code hero who can't be seen as a perfect one until the end of the story. Background:The relationship between climate and radial growth of trees exhibits spatial variation due to environ-mental changes.Therefore,elucidation of how the growth–climate responses of trees vary in space is esse...Background:The relationship between climate and radial growth of trees exhibits spatial variation due to environ-mental changes.Therefore,elucidation of how the growth–climate responses of trees vary in space is essential for understanding forest growth dynamics to facilitate scientific management with the ongoing global climate warming.To explore the altitudinal and slope variations of these interactions,tree-ring width chronologies of Larix olgensis A.Henry were analyzed in the southern Lesser Khingan Mountains,Northeast China.Results:The radial growth of L.olgensis exhibited significant 5-to 10-year periodic changes at three altitudes and two slopes,and the frequency change occurred mainly during the early growth stage and after 2000.The radial growth of L.olgensis was significantly negatively correlated with September precipitation only at low altitudes,but also with the mean temperature in July–August and the mean maximum temperature in June–August at high altitudes.The radial growth of L.olgensis at low and middle altitudes as well as on the sunny slope led to a higher demand for moisture,while temperature was the key limiting factor at high altitudes and on the shady slope.Conclusions:The climate–radial growth relationship of L.olgensis exhibits altitudinal and slope variability.This study quantitatively describes the spatially varying growth–climate responses of L.olgensis in the southern Lesser Khingan Mountains,which provides basic data for the management of L.olgensis forests and the prediction of future climate impacts on forest ecosystems.展开更多
