Objective:To explore the anti-gout effects of four traditional Chinese medicine extracts of Eucommia,Sargentodoxa cuneata,Caulis spatholobi and Phellinus igniarius. Methods:Monosodium Urate(MSU)was used to establish a mouse gouty arritis model. With coloricine as the positive control group, the effects of four traditional Chinese medicine extracts of Ecuador,Sargentodoxa,Caulis spatholobi and Phellinus igniarius on rice were studied; The hot plate method was used to observe the analytical effects of the four groups of traditional Chinese medicine extracts;the enzyme-linked immunoassay(ELISA)was used to detect residual interference-1 beta(IL-1 beta);the four traditional Chinese medicine extracts were simultaneously determined on the white blood cells, and monocytes in the blood of mice as well as the influence of neutrophils and histopathological changes of toes. Results:Compared with the normal group, the joint diameter ratio, blood leukocytes,monocytes,neutrophils,IL-1βat different time points in the model group were significantly increased(P<0.01),and the pain percentage was significantly reduced(P<0.05).Compared with the model group, the joint diameter ratio of the colchicine group, the Eucommia group, the Sargentodoxa group, the Caulis spatholobi group and the Phellinus sibiricum group was significantly reduced(P<0.05),and the pain percentage was significantly increased(P(0.05).The four groups of traditional Chinese medicine extracts significantly decreased the white blood cells, monocytes, and neutrophils in the blood of mice(P<0.05),and the IL-1βexpression levels of the Eucommia ulmoides group,)the Sargentodoxa group and the Phellinus igniarius group significantly decreased(P<0.05).Eucommia ulmoides and Caulis spatholobi are more effective in reducing pathological damage of toes in mice. Conclusion:The water extract of Caulis spatholobi has obvious anti-gout effect, and the most significant effect on analgesia and swelling.Eucommia ulmoides and Sargentodoxa cuneata have more obvious anti-inflammatory effects and have certain analgesic and swelling effects.Phellinus Phellinus igniarius has obvious inhibitory effect on IL-1β,but it does not show good anti-gout potential. 展开更多

[ Objective] The paper presents the effects of Chinese herbal extract on the performance of local chickens for its application in animal production. [Method] The herbal extract Ⅰ and Ⅱ were added to the basal diet of 10 day-old chickens at the ratio of 0.6%, respectively. Then the chickens was fasted and respectively weighed at 0, 17, 24 and 31 days old. And the feed consumption and mortality of each group were recorded to determine average weight, average daily gain, and feed conversion ratio. Economic benefit was also analyzed. [ Result] There was no significant difference in average daily gain between the test groups and the control group as well as between the two test groups (P〉0.05) ; there was signifi- cant difference in feed conversion ratio between the test groups and the control group ( P 〈0.05), but no significant difference between the two test groups ( P 〉 0.05) ; the survival rate and the economic benefits of the test groups were significantly higher than that of control ( P 〈 0.05). [ Conclusion ] Chinese herbal extract Ⅰ and Ⅱ should improve chicken average daily gain, feed conversion ratio and survival rate, promote growth, and signifi- cantly improve economic benefit. 展开更多

The objective of this research was to investigate the effects of a natural herb extract on the general performance, carcass parameters and mortality of broiler chicks. A total of 720 one-day old chicks (Cobb 500) were used in the experiment and randomly partitioned into nine pens (80 chicks per pen). Three experimental diets (C: regular starter feed;CC plus: regular starter feed supplemented with chicken plus herbal extract;AFC plus: antibiotic-free diet supplemented with chicken plus) were assigned each to three randomly selected pens. The herbal extract was supplemented in drinking water at rate of 300 ml/cubic meter. Results showed that weights, feed conversion ratios (FCR) and dressing percentages (DP) increased (P < 0.05) in birds supplemented with herb extract compared to control birds. Mortalities and sudden deaths were minimized via herbal supplementation. However, herbal supplementation had no significant effects on carcass cuts and some visceral organs. The relative economic efficiency (REE) was up to 13% improved by the herb supplementation. It can be concluded that feeding the herbal extract has significant positive effects on broilers general performance as feed efficiency is increased by 11% and on mortality and sudden death cases. 展开更多

Combustion of herb residues(HRs)for heat recovery is a good way for their utilization, but there exists such a problem as high concentration NOx emission in flue gas.The alcohol extracted herb residue(AEHR),one special type of HRs,was chosen as the object and was subjected to immediate combustion in a fluidized bed reactor to investigate the characteristics of its resulting NOx emission. The results showed that, most of the NOx in the flue gas was produced from the char nitrogen(C-N);as the fuel water content increased, the NOx emission concentration exhibited a trend of first decreasing and then increasing;and a properly low combustion temperature inhibited the NOx emission upon the premise of ensuring full combustion.Air staging combustion was adopted to effectively control NOx:the NOx emission concentration in the flue gas was reduced to 296 mg⋅m􀀀3 and the NOx emission reduction rate reached 46.51%compared to conventional combustion.Co-combustion by blending wasted activated coke(WAC)into the AEHR helped both stabilize the combustion state and reduce further the NOx emission. When the blending ratio of WAC fell within a proper range of 20-30%,the NOx emission concentration in the flue gas was as low as 231.4 mg⋅m􀀀3.In addition to the dilution effect of the combustion flue gas of the blended WAC,the local reducing atmosphere caused by its incomplete combustion as well as its strong absorbability and catalytical effect was accountable for the further decrease of the NOx emission concentration. 展开更多
