The solids holdup was determined through the use of a fiber-optic probe at 11 axial levels. The results indicated that under all operating conditions, the high superficial gas velocity and low solid flux- es maintained a low radial non-uniformity index (RNI). The high-density/flux CFB riser had several unique characteristics, so that the peak of the radial solids holdup profile occurred at a position with r/R=0.8. The RNI and solids holdup at the cross-sectional position had a good logarithmic relationship at the low-density condition (with a mean solids holdup of 〈0.2), and the RNI decreased when the mean solids holdup exceeded 0.2. Investigation of the dynamics of stratified injec- tion revealed that the feed ratio had an important effect on G, and on solids holdup distribution. A novel "〈" shaped axial solids holdup profile was found. Gs decreased sharply when the up-flow feed ratio exceeded 0.5, and RNI was lowest when the up-flow feed ratio was 1.展开更多

We have used lg C+04 R as an alternative expression for lg (f x f opt ), where C is X-ray count rate and R stands for R magnitude. Then a high X-ray-to-optical flux ratio criterion has been used to select an AGN sample with 165 unidentified X-ray sources for optical spectroscopy. At present over 93% of the X-ray sources in the sample have been fully identified in the following classes: emission line AGNs, clusters of galaxies, BL Lacertae objects, and stars.展开更多

The thermal performance of the material under steady-state (SS) high heat flux was evaluated under actively cooling conditions, the specimens were mechanically joined to copper heat sink with supercarbon sheet as a compliant layer between the interfaces. The experiments have been performed in a facility of ACT (actively cooling test stand) with a 100 kW electron gun in order to test the suitability and the loading limit of such materials. The surface temperature and bulk temperature distribution of the specimens were investigated. The experimental results are very encouraging that when heat flux is not more than 6 MW/m2, the surface temperature of GBST1308 is less than 1000℃, which is the lowest, compared with IG-430U and even with CX-2002U (CFC); The primary results indicate that the mechanically-joined material system by such a proper design as thin tile, super compliant layer, GBST as a PFM and copper-alloy heat sink, can be used as divertor plates for HT-7U in the first phase.展开更多

In this paper, we will study the potential high-flux electron beam production of an LWFA driven by petawatt-level laser pulses. In our three-dimensional particle-in-cell simulations, an optimal set of parameters gives -40 nC of charge with 2 PW laser power, thus -400 kA of instantaneous current if we assume the electron beam duration is 100 fs. This high flux and its secondary radiation are widely applicable in nuclear and QED physics, industrial imaging, medical and biological studies.展开更多

The riser was operated at 4.0 to 10.0 m/s gas velocity and 50 to 550 kg/m2s solids flux. Spent fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) catalyst particles of 67 μm mean diameter and 1500 kg/m3 density together with 70% to 80% humid air was used. Solid concentration data were analysed using codes prepared in FORTRAN 2008 to get correlation integrals at different embedding dimensions and operating conditions and plot their profiles. Scaling regions were identified by visual inspection method and their location on planes determined. Scaling regions were analysed based on operating conditions and riser spatial locations. It was found that scaling regions occupy different locations on the plane depending on the number of embedding dimensions and operating conditions. As the number of embedding dimensions increases the spacing between scaling regions decreases until it saturates towards higher embedding dimensions. Slopes of scaling regions increases with embedding dimensions until saturation where they become constant. Slopes of scaling regions towards the wall decrease while the number of scaling regions for a particular profile increases. The span of the scaling region is wider at the initial values of hyperspherical radius than its final values. The scaling regions in some flow development sections show multifractal behaviour for each embedding dimension which manifests into visible basin which is defined in this study as multifractal basin. Further, the end points of the scaling region for each correlation integral profile differ from each other as the embedding dimension changes. This study suggests that identification of scaling region by visual inspection method is useful in understanding the gas-solid flow dynamics in the High-Flux CFB riser system. Further studies are recommended on risers of different diameters and heights operated at low and high solid fluxes and different gas velocities for comparison or usage of time series of different signal types like pressure fluctuations.展开更多

The riser was operated at 4.0 to 10.0 m/s gas velocity and 50 to 550 kg/m2s solids flux. Spent fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) catalyst particles with 67 μm mean diameter and density of 1500 kg/m3 together with 70% to 80% humid air was used. Solid concentration data were analyzed using codes prepared in FORTRAN 2008 to get trajectories of the reconstructed attractors and their distances apart. Trajectory distances were found to increase from the centre towards the wall indicating the expansion of the attractor. The probability density function (PDF) of the trajectory distances changes from single peak at the centre to multiple peaked profiles in the wall region. Multiple peaked profiles indicate multifractal flow behaviours. Cumulative distribution functions (CDF) of the trajectory distances changes from single S-shaped at the centre to multiple S-shaped profiles in some locations of the wall region indicating multifractal flow behaviours. The PDF distribution of these distances at the entrance section and in the wall region forms different types of statistical distributions showing differences in gas-solid flow structures in various spatial locations of the wall region and the entrance sections. Most of the distributions at the centre fall under the Gumbel max distribution for all flow development sections of the riser, especially at air velocities of 5.5 m/s and 8 m/s showing uniform flow structures. Further, it was found that increase of the number of the phase space reconstruction embedding dimension increases the trajectory distances between the state vectors leading to the expansion of the attractor.展开更多

Data were analyzed using prepared FORTRAN 2008 code to get correlation integral followed by determination of correlation dimensions with respect to the hyperspherical radius and their profiles, plots of which were studied. It was found that correlation dimension profiles at the centre have single peak with higher values than the wall region profiles. Towards the wall, these profiles have double or multiple peaks showing bifractal or multifractal flow behaviors. As the velocity increases the wall region profiles become random and irregular. Further it was found that, as the height increases the correlation dimension profiles shift towards higher hyperspherical radius at the centre and towards lower hyperspherical radius in the wall region at r/R = 0.81. The established method of mapping correlation dimension profiles in this study forms a suitable tool for analysis of high-flux riser dynamics compared to other analyses approaches. However, further analysis is recommended to other gas-solid CFB riser of different dimensions operated at high-flux conditions using the established method.展开更多

The potential vorticity field is taken as the physical quantity relating the wave activity flux to the variation of the subtropical high over the Western Pacific. It is found that the three-dimensional wave activity flux is a powerful means for diagnosis of the variation of the subtropical high over the Western Pacific: The region of the subtropical high is just the confluence area of wave energy, whose changes in intensity and range decide the variation of the subtropical high. The confluence of wave energy comes from the monsoon flow in low latitudes, the Meiyu rain belts in middle latitudes and the heating fields on the eastern side of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau. The relation between these sources and the subtropical high displays the self-adjusting mechanism among members of East-Asia summer monsoon.展开更多

文摘Water-cooled flat-type W/Cu Cr Zr plasma facing components with an interlayer of oxygen-free copper(OFC) have been developed by using vacuum brazing route. The OFC layer for the accommodation of thermal stresses was cast onto the surface of W at a temperature range of 1150oC-1200 oC in a vacuum furnace. The W/OFC cast tiles were vacuum brazed to a Cu Cr Zr heat sink at 940 oC using the silver-free filler material Cu Mn Si Cr.The microstructure, bonding strength, and high heat flux properties of the brazed W/Cu Cr Zr joint samples were investigated. The W/Cu joint exhibits an average tensile strength of 134 MPa,which is about the same strength as pure annealed copper.High heat flux tests were performed in the electron beam facility EMS-60.Experimental results indicated that the brazed W/Cu Cr Zr mock-up experienced screening tests of up to 15 MW/m^2 and cyclic tests of 9 MW/m^2 for 1000 cycles without visible damage.

文摘A high-density, high-flux circulating fluidized bed (CFB) riser (100 mm in ID and 10.614 m in height) was ap- plied in a wide range of operating conditions (with solid fluxes up to 400 kg/m2s and superficial gas velocities up to 12 m/s) to examine its radial non-uniformity dynamics. Gs decreased sharply when the up-flow feed ratio exceeded 0.5, and RNI was lowest when the up-flow feed ratio was 1.
文摘We present the first results of a program to identify the unknown bright active galactic nuclei (AGN) in the ROSAT All Sky Survey Bright Source Catalog (RASSBSC). At present over 93% of the X-ray sources in the sample have been fully identified in the following classes: emission line AGNs, clusters of galaxies, BL Lacertae objects, and stars.

文摘As an important component of tokamaks, the divertor is mainly responsible for extracting heat and helium ash,and the targets of the divertor need to withstand high heat flux of 10 MW m-2 for steady-state operation. In this study,we proposed a new strategy, using microchannel cooling technology to remove high heat load on the targets of the divertor. The results demonstrated that the microchannel-based W/Cu flat-type mock-up successfully withstood the thermal fatigue test of 1000 cycles at 10 MW m^(-2)with cooling water of 26 l min^(-1),30°C(inlet),0.8 MPa(inlet),15 s power on and 15 s dwell time;the maximum temperature on the heat-loaded surface(W surface)of the mock-up was 493°C,which is much lower than the recrystallization temperature of W(1200°C).Moreover,no occurrence of macrocrack and‘hot spot’at the W surface,as well as no detachment of W/Cu tiles were observed during the thermal fatigue testing. These results indicate that microchannel cooling technology is an efflcient method for removing the heat load of the divertor at a low flow rate. The present study offers a promising solution to replace the monoblock design for the EAST divertor.

文摘Multi-element doped graphite, GBST1308 has been developed as a plasma facing material (PFM) for high heat flux components of the HT-7U device. The experimental results are very encouraging that when heat flux is not more than 6 MW/m2, the surface temperature of GBST1308 is less than 1000℃, which is the lowest, compared with IG-430U and even with CX-2002U (CFC); The primary results indicate that the mechanically-joined material system by such a proper design as thin tile, super compliant layer, GBST as a PFM and copper-alloy heat sink, can be used as divertor plates for HT-7U in the first phase.

文摘Laser wakefield accelerators (LWFAs) are considered to be one of the most compeuuve next- generation accelerator candidates. This high flux and its secondary radiation are widely applicable in nuclear and QED physics, industrial imaging, medical and biological studies.

文摘In order to realize steady-state operation of the neutral beam injection(NBI) system with high beam energy,an accurate thermal analysis and a prediction about working conditions of heat-removal structures inside high-heat-flux(HHF) components in the system are key issues. In this paper, taking the HHF ion dump with swirl tubes in NBI system as an example,an accurate thermal dynamic simulation method based on computational fluid dynamics(CFD) and the finite volume method is presented to predict performance of the HHF component. In this simulation method, the Eulerian multiphase method together with some empirical corrections about the inter-phase transfer model and the wall heat flux partitioning model are considered to describe the subcooled boiling. The reliability of the proposed method is validated by an experimental example with subcooled boiling inside swirl tube. The proposed method provides an important tool for the refined thermal and flow dynamic analysis of HHF components, and can be extended to study the thermal design of other complex HHF engineering structures in a straightforward way.The simulation results also verify that the swirl tube is a promising heat removing structure for the HHF components of the NBI system.
文摘An experimental study of the gas-solid flow dynamics in the high-flux CFB riser was accomplished by analysing the scaling regions from solid concentration signals collected from a 76 mm internal diameters and 10 m high riser of a circulating fluidized bed (CFB) system. Further studies are recommended on risers of different diameters and heights operated at low and high solid fluxes and different gas velocities for comparison or usage of time series of different signal types like pressure fluctuations.
文摘The study of the entrance and wall dynamics of a high-flux gas-solid riser was conducted using trajectory distances of the reconstructed attractors from solid concentration signals collected from a 76 mm internal diameters and 10 m high riser of a circulating fluidized bed (CFB) system. Further, it was found that increase of the number of the phase space reconstruction embedding dimension increases the trajectory distances between the state vectors leading to the expansion of the attractor.
文摘Analysis of the entrance and wall dynamics of a high-flux gas-solid riser was conducted using embedded solid concentration time series collected from a 76 mm internal diameter and 10 m high riser of a circulating fluidized bed (CFB) system. The riser was operated at 4.0 to 10.0 m/s air velocity and 50 to 550 kg/m2s solids flux of spent fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) catalyst particles with 67 μm mean diameter and density of 1500 kg/m3. However, further analysis is recommended to other gas-solid CFB riser of different dimensions operated at high-flux conditions using the established method.
文摘In this paper, using the daily grid data (2.5 × 2.5) of the ECMWF / WMO, we have computed respectively the three-dimensional wave activity flux in the stages of pre-onset, prevailing and post ending of Meiyu from 1 to 31 July 1982. The relation between these sources and the subtropical high displays the self-adjusting mechanism among members of East-Asia summer monsoon.
文摘China, as one of the members of ITER (international thermonuclear experimental reactor) project, one of the most important construction tasks is the fabrication of the first wall panel and shield blankets, which is the key engineering technology of ITER construction and might be one of the crucial issues of the future reactor too. Since 2004, an associated research team including Southwestern Institute of Physics ( SWIP ), Ninxia Non-ferrous Metal Co. Itd and Chinese Institute of Engineering Physics, as well as Nuclear Power Institute of China has been established. Up to now, several series of interlayer for hot isostatic press ( HIP ) connection of beryllium and CuCrZr alloy have been tested. They are titanium film or coating, Cu coating and Al or AISiMg alloy etc. The bonding strength (tensile or shear strength ) of HIPed Be/Cu joints is up to 100 MPa.
