A fluidized bed jet milling process was used to make micro-fine high Nb-containing TiAl alloyed powders from the chippings obtained by crushing the Ti-45Al-8.5Nb-(W,B,Y) ingot.The influences of classifier frequency on powder characteristics were investigated.The results show that the powders with controlled average particle size can be prepared on a large scale.The powders with different sizes are all dominated by γ with aminor amount of α2-Ti3Al.The particle size significantly decreases with the classifier frequency increasing.At a classifier frequency higher than 38 Hz,the average particle size of the ground powders is lower than 25μm.The powders are composed of two differ-ent sizes of particles:shaped particles and some clastic particles,and both particle sizes meet the log-normal distribution.With the classifier frequency increasing,the both sizes decrease;meanwhile,the proportion of the clastic particles gradually increases,and the size distribution span value of the ground powders increases correspondingly. 展开更多

Turning machining induced microstructural instability was investigated in a fully lamellar Ti-45Al-8.5Nb-(W,B,Y) alloy during high temperature exposure.After turning machining followed by thermal exposure at900 or 1000℃ for 100,300 and 500 h,a depth-dependent gradient microstructure with random orientations was produced in the region close to the machining surface.Two typical layers,a fine-grained(FG) layer with equiaxed grains and a coarse-grained(CG) layer with elongated grains,are formed in this region in transversal direction.The thickness of the two layers is up to 120 urn after thermal exposure at 1000℃ for 500 h,which is less than the depth of the hardened region(200 μm) after turning machining.Most of the new grains in FG and CG layers are constituted of γ single phase,while short α_2 segments and few B2 particles are precipitated at the γ/γ interface or inside the γ grains.Recrystallization and phase boundary bulging are found to be the major mechanisms responsible for lamellar degradation in FG layer and CG layer,respectively.The residual deformation energy stored is considered to be the main driving force of this process. 展开更多

In order to improve the high temperature oxidation resistance of TiAl alloy, Y modified silicide coatings were prepared by pack cementation process at 1030, 1080 and 1130 °C, respectively, for 5 h. The microstructures, phase constitutions and oxidation behavior of these coatings were studied. The results show that the coating prepared by co-depositing Si?Y at 1080 °C for 5 h has a multiple layer structure: a superficial zone consisting of Al-rich (Ti,Nb)5Si4 and (Ti,Nb)5Si3, an out layer consisting of (Ti,Nb)Si2, a middle layer consisting of (Ti,Nb)5Si4 and (Ti,Nb)5Si3, and aγ-TiAl inner layer. Co-deposition temperature imposes strong influences on the coating structure. The coating prepared by Si?Y co-depositing at 1080 °C for 5 h shows relatively good oxidation resistance at 1000 °C in air, and the oxidation rate constant of the coating is about two orders of magnitude lower than that of the bare TiAl alloy. 展开更多

γ-TiAl基合金抗高温氧化性较差限制了其在高温场景下的应用,提高其抗高温氧化性能对高温合金的研究与应用具有重要意义。以Ti-48Al-2Cr-2Nb合金为研究对象,将其置于管式炉中分别在800、900、1000℃下进行气体氮化2 h。采用光学显微镜... γ-TiAl基合金抗高温氧化性较差限制了其在高温场景下的应用,提高其抗高温氧化性能对高温合金的研究与应用具有重要意义。以Ti-48Al-2Cr-2Nb合金为研究对象,将其置于管式炉中分别在800、900、1000℃下进行气体氮化2 h。采用光学显微镜观察显微组织,采用X射线衍射仪分析物相组成,测试维氏硬度,分析900℃下的高温氧化行为。结果表明,随着氮化温度的升高,合金基体片层组织逐渐粗化,表面膜层增厚,维氏硬度升高。在空气中高温氧化128 h后,800℃和900℃氮化后样品的质量增加仅为未氮化样品的25.3%和28.9%,表明800℃和900℃氮化后的样品具有良好的抗氧化能力。由于1000℃氮化样品因膜层存在裂纹,高温氧化时膜层和基体会与氧发生反应生成氧化物,导致质量增加显著。900℃下氮化处理能够显著提高Ti-48Al-2Cr-2Nb合金的表面维氏硬度,增强合金的抗氧化能力。 展开更多

TiAl合金在高电位电化学溶解过程中的电流密度时间序列呈现出明显的高维混沌行为,相空间重构已不能直观地展示系统的具体形态,针对此问题采用庞加莱截面、差分庞加莱截面及分布熵定量表征TiAl合金在不同压力电解液中的高电位溶解电流密度时间序列的非线性行为特征。研究表明:差分庞加莱截面由于其去趋势化作用能更直观地反映合金电流密度的局部波动,局部波动越大散点越分散,说明合金发生非均匀溶解,局部波动越小散点越聚集,说明合金发生均匀溶解。结合分布熵运算结果可知,TiAl合金高电位电化学溶解系统在电解液压力为0.4 MPa时最稳定,合金发生均匀稳定溶解。 展开更多

通过分析不同微观组织TiAl合金在850℃下的恒温氧化行为,揭示了不同微观组织TiAl合金的高温氧化机制。研究表明,近γ组织和双态组织TiAl合金表现出优异的高温抗氧化性,850℃恒温氧化100h后,样品表面氧化膜厚度分别为13.78、12.81μm,而... 通过分析不同微观组织TiAl合金在850℃下的恒温氧化行为,揭示了不同微观组织TiAl合金的高温氧化机制。研究表明,近γ组织和双态组织TiAl合金表现出优异的高温抗氧化性,850℃恒温氧化100h后,样品表面氧化膜厚度分别为13.78、12.81μm,而全片层组织TiAl合金在同等条件下的氧化膜厚度为19.06μm。经850℃氧化100 h后,不同微观组织TiAl合金表面均形成了不具有保护作用的TiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)混合氧化层。全片层组织TiAl合金高温抗氧化性不足的主要原因是基体中存在过多的原子扩散通道(片层晶界和板条相界),导致大量的氧进入基体发生氧化反应,而近γ组织和双态组织中原子扩散通道明显减少,且存在大量抗氧化性能优异的γ晶粒,显著降低了氧扩散与氧化速率,从而提高了TiAl合金的高温抗氧化性能。 展开更多

目的通过表面涂层提高γ-TiAl基合金的抗高温氧化性能。方法采用常规喷涂涂料法在γ-TiAl合金基体上制备Al_(2)O_(3)-SiC-AlPO_(4)磷酸盐复合抗高温氧化涂层。研究γ-TiAl合金和涂层样品在900℃、静态空气条件下的准等温氧化动力学行为... 目的通过表面涂层提高γ-TiAl基合金的抗高温氧化性能。方法采用常规喷涂涂料法在γ-TiAl合金基体上制备Al_(2)O_(3)-SiC-AlPO_(4)磷酸盐复合抗高温氧化涂层。研究γ-TiAl合金和涂层样品在900℃、静态空气条件下的准等温氧化动力学行为。用XRD和SEM/EDS分别对涂层样品氧化前后的物相组成、组织形貌和微区成分进行表征分析;用电子探针(EPMA)分析涂层样品的元素分布情况。结果900℃恒温氧化动力学研究结果表明,γ-TiAl基合金初期氧化速率常数为32.501×10^(-2)mg/(cm^(2)·h^(1/2)),与后期氧化速率常数28.113×10^(-2)mg/(cm^(2)·h^(1/2))基本接近,呈直线规律,不具有抗氧化性能;而Al_(2)O_(3)-SiC-AlPO_(4)磷酸盐复合涂层样品氧化后期氧化速率常数为5.967×10^(-2) mg/(cm^(2)·h^(1/2)),与氧化初期8 h内氧化速率常数23.941×10^(-2) mg/(cm^(2)·h^(1/2))相比,明显降低,遵循典型抛物线规律,具有抗氧化性能。微观分析结果表明,原始涂层与γ-TiAl合金基体结合紧密,涂层主要相组成为Al_(2)O_(3)、SiC、SiO_(2);AlPO_(4)以无定形状态构成涂层连续相。氧化后,AlPO_(4)演变成晶态,形成涂层致密的网络结构;部分基体钛元素扩散进入涂层中疏松部位,氧化后形成TiO_(2)弥散分布在涂层中,填补了涂层疏松部位,使涂层更加致密;在涂层与基体界面2μm区域内形成连续致密Al_(2)O_(3)膜,阻挡了空气中的氧进一步扩散进入基体。结论Al_(2)O_(3)-SiC-AlPO_(4)复合涂层有效降低了γ-TiAl基合金氧化速率,有助于形成保护性Al_(2)O_(3)膜,明显改善了900℃γ-TiAl基合金抗高温氧化性能。 展开更多

Reaction mechanism was investigated by means of microstructural analyses and thermodynamic calculations. The results show that it is feasible to prepare high Nb containing TiAl alloy with fine lamellar colonies by reactive hot pressing process. The reaction between Ti and Al powders is dominant in Ti-Al-Nb system. Nb powders dissolve into the Ti-Al matrix by diffusion. Pore nests are formed in situ after Nb powders diffusion. The hot pressing atmosphere is optimized by thermodynamic calculations. Vacuum or argon protective atmosphere should be adopted. 展开更多

High niobium β-γ TiAl alloy(HNBG) was diffusion bonded using spark plasma sintering with pure Ti as interlayer. The joint microstructural evolution, growth kinetics and mechanical properties were investigated. The joint included three diffusion zones. The β/B2 phase formed in the Zone Ⅰ, α_(2)phase in the Zone Ⅱ, and β-Ti and α-Ti phases in the Zone Ⅲ. The thickness of β/B2 phase, the average grain size of α_(2)phase and the amount of β-Ti phase increased with the increase of bonding temperature or bonding time. The growth activation energies of β/B2 and α_(2)phases were 582 and 253 kJ/mol, respectively. The joint acquired at 1000 °C, 10 min and 10 MPa showed the maximum shear strength of 308 MPa. Fracture mainly occurred along the interfaces between Zone Ⅰ and HNBG alloy, and between Zone I and Zone Ⅱ. Fracture mechanism of the joint was characterized by brittleness rupture along the phase boundary. 展开更多

The composite powders not only possessed good consolidation and densification characteristics, but also resulted in the augment of nucleation rate of α and γ titanium aluminides during solid-phase reactive sintering After a series of processing, pressing, degassing, extrusion, and sintering, the resultant TiAl alloy presented high relative density and refined grain sizes of (α2 + γ) lamella and γ phases. Carbon is an important alloying element in improving high temperature mechanical properties of various metallic materials.The effects of carbon on high temperature mechanical properties of aβ-stabilized Ti?45Al?3Fe?2Mo(molar fraction,%)alloy were studied through compressive and creep tests.The results show that the carbon addition(0.5%,molar fraction)obviously enhances the high temperature compressive strength and creep resistance of theβ-stabilized Ti?45Al?3Fe?2Mo alloy.A lot of nano-scaled Ti3AlC carbides precipitate in theβ-stabilized alloy and these carbides pin the dislocations,and greatly increase the high temperature properties.At the same time,the carbon addition decreases the amount of?phase,refines the lamellar spacing,and causes solution strengthening,which also contribute to the improvement of the high temperature properties. 展开更多

TiAl合金具有低密度、高比强度的优异性能,是一种潜在的航空发动机用结构材料。TiAl合金的服役温度范围为700~900℃,在其表面制备高温热防护涂层可以进一步提高服役温度。本研究采用等离子喷涂技术在TiAl合金表面制备了新型TiAlCrY/YSZ涂层,并与传统的NiCrAlY/YSZ热障涂层进行高温长时间服役性能对比研究。结果发现,TiAlCrY/YSZ涂层在1100℃空气环境中服役300 h保持完好,表现出良好的高温性能,而NiCrAlY/YSZ涂层在1100℃的服役寿命不足100 h。显微分析结果表明,TiAlCrY黏结层表面会形成一层连续且致密的TGO,其主要成分为Al2O3,与YSZ涂层的界面兼容性良好。并且TGO在1100℃空气环境中服役300 h后,厚度仍<8μm。以上研究表明,与传统NiCrAlY/YSZ热障涂层相比,TiAlCrY/YSZ更适合作为TiAl合金表面的高温热防护涂层。 展开更多

采用激光熔覆工艺在TC4基体表面制备了TiAl涂层,分别对TC4基体与TiAl涂层在600、800、900和1000℃下开展了循环氧化50 h实验,分析TC4基体与TiAl涂层在不同温度下的氧化动力学行为、氧化膜的物相、表面形貌及元素分布,并对其高温氧化机... 采用激光熔覆工艺在TC4基体表面制备了TiAl涂层,分别对TC4基体与TiAl涂层在600、800、900和1000℃下开展了循环氧化50 h实验,分析TC4基体与TiAl涂层在不同温度下的氧化动力学行为、氧化膜的物相、表面形貌及元素分布,并对其高温氧化机理进行了阐述。结果表明:涂层氧化动力学曲线近似符合抛物线规律,且单位氧化质量增加和氧化速率均比TC4基体小。TiAl涂层在600、800、900和1000℃下的氧化质量增加分别为TC4基体的12.5%、20%、55.6%和35.7%。TiAl涂层的氧化产物主要为Al_(2)O_(3)和TiO_(2),在600~900℃之间氧化物均匀致密无破损,在1000℃下出现氧化膜的破损、剥落。TiAl涂层的氧化极限较TC4基体至少提高300℃,表现出优异的高温抗氧化性能。 展开更多

TiAl alloy was prepared by intense plastic deformation and subsequent reaction sintering. The effect of plastic deformation on the microstructure of sintered TiAl alloy was investigated using energy dispersive X ray spectroscopy (EDS), optical microscopy and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results show that the intense plastic deformation of reacting Ti and Al phases caused by high energy ball milling refines the as sintered microstructure. The longer the milling time, the finer the grain size of γ and lamellar ( α 2 + γ ) phases. The finer grain size improves the properties of the TiAl alloy. It is also found that the volume fraction of lamellar ( α 2 + γ ) phases increases first, then decreases with increasing milling time. Based on the experimental results theoretical discussion was presented. 展开更多

The microstructure of the siliconized coating on the TiAl-based alloy was analyzed and its effect on oxidation resistance was investigated. The specimens before and after cycle oxidation were examined by XRD and SEM equipped with XEDS. The results showed that the coating is composed of a thin Al2O3 outer layer and a composite inner layer of Ti5Si3 with an appropriate amount of Al2O3 dispersed in. Cycle oxidation tests showed that the high temperature oxidation resistance of TiAl-based alloy was greatly improved by forming such composite coating. No spaliation and crack happened and the weight gain was very small after cycle oxidation at 900℃ for 314h. 展开更多
