With the prohibition of antibiotics in feed,plant functional substances have been widely studied as feed additives.Resveratrol,a natural stilbene,and a non-flavonoid polyphenol found in plants,possesses antioxidant,an...With the prohibition of antibiotics in feed,plant functional substances have been widely studied as feed additives.Resveratrol,a natural stilbene,and a non-flavonoid polyphenol found in plants,possesses antioxidant,anti-inflammatory,and metabolic regulatory features.Resveratrol generated intense scientific and public interest,primarily due to its widely reported ability to prevent cancer,delay aging and alleviate related metabolic diseases.Recently,resveratrol has been studied and applied as a feed additive in animal production.This review focuses on the outline of the absorption and metabolism and biological functions of resveratrol and summarizes the application of dietary resveratrol in animal production up to the present,including pigs,poultry,and ruminants.In pigs,dietary resveratrol improved intestinal health,mitochondrial function,meat quality,and more.In poultry,studies have shown that dietary resveratrol improves growth performance and meat and egg quality and alleviates heat stress induced adverse effects.There are few studies on dietary resveratrol in ruminants;however previous studies have indicated that dietary resveratrol increases nutrient digestibility and reduces methane emissions in sheep.It is hoped that this review could provide a specific theoretical basis and research ideas for the research and application of resveratrol.展开更多

The removal of disinfection by-products formation potential(DBPFP) in artificially intensified biological activated carbon(IBAC) process which is developed on the basis of traditional ozone granular activated carbon w...The removal of disinfection by-products formation potential(DBPFP) in artificially intensified biological activated carbon(IBAC) process which is developed on the basis of traditional ozone granular activated carbon was evaluated. By IBAC removals of 31% and 68% for THMFP and HAAFP were obtained respectively. Under identical conditions, the removals of the same substances were 4% and 32% respectively only by the granular activated carbon(GAC) process. Compared with GAC, the high removal rates of the two formed potential substances were due to the increasing of bioactivity of the media and the synergistic capabilities of biological degradation cooperating with activated carbon adsorption of organic compounds. A clear linear correlation(R 2=0.9562 and R 2=0.9007) between DOC HAAFP removal rate and Empty Bed Contact Time(EBCT) of IBAC process was observed, while that between THMFP removal rate and EBCT of GAC was R 2=0.9782. In addition certain linear correlations between THMFP, HAAFP and UV 254 (R 2=0.855 and R 2=0.7702) were found for the treated water. For IBAC process there are also more advantages such as long backwashing cycle time, low backwashing intensity and prolonging activated carbon lifetime and so on.展开更多

The color of the bacterial colony on 2216E medium was from coccineus to rose bengal. Optimum culture conditions were sodium chloride concentration(g/dm3),10~30;pH,3~8;temperature,25~28℃;tryptone and yeast extract as nitrogen sources and glucose as carbon source. This research aims to increase the biological activities of natural syringaldehyde. The synthesis of syringaldehyde derivatives and controls the size of the material particles in the nanometer ranges. Nano-organic compounds (L1 - L2) and nano-organometallic compounds (C1 - C4) are used for the study of physicochemical characterization and biological activities. Antioxidant capacities were the DPPH and FRAP techniques, and bacterial abilities against Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp. and Staphylococcus aureus. The syringaldehyde salicylic hydrazone (L2) showed a high scavenging ability to DPPH. Free radical exhibited with IC<sub>50</sub> values as low as 51.109 ppm. The ability of antioxidants by FRAP showed that substances are capable of reducing Fe<sup>3+</sup> and most of C3, the ability to inhibit the growth of bacteria with the lowest MIC and MBC values and the ability to Chilo polychrysus (Meyrick) found that C1 and C2 showed LT<sub>50</sub> at 24 h and 48 h (19.00 and 19.33). These particles should develop as biological agents to reduce the use of chemicals that are harmful to humans and the environment.展开更多

The plant productivity and biological yield of forage sorghum both decreased with the delay of sowing time.The regression model between plant fresh weight and sowing time was ?fresh=0.618-0.015x; the regression model between plant dry weight and sowing time was ?dry=0.184-0.005x; and the regression model between biological yield and sowing time was yield=29 126.461-711.448x. During July 23rd to August 30th, when the sowing time was delayed by 1 day, the plant fresh weight of forage sorghum was reduced by 0.015 g, the plant dry weight was reduced by 0.005 g, and the yield was reduced by 711.448 kg/hm2. [Conclusion] The three regression models established in this study will provide theoretical support for the production of forage sorghum.展开更多
Understanding the foraging behavior is essential for investigating seabird ecology and conservation,as well as monitoring the well-being of the marine environment.Breeding seabirds adopt diverse foraging strategies to...Understanding the foraging behavior is essential for investigating seabird ecology and conservation,as well as monitoring the well-being of the marine environment.Breeding seabirds adopt diverse foraging strategies to maximize energy gains and cope with the intensified challenges of parenting and self-maintenance.Such tradeoff may stem from the heterogeneity of food resources and the constraints of central place foraging.Nevertheless,abundant marine productivity could alleviate the energy limitation for seabirds,resulting in a consistent foraging approach.Here,we investigated the foraging strategy during the breeding season of a cryptic small-sized seabird,Swinhoe’s Storm-petrel(Hydrobates monorhis),in the Yellow Sea,a productive marginal sea of the Northwest Pacific.Using GPS tracking,we evaluated habitat preference,quantified the foraging strategy,and tested if environmental conditions and individual traits influence foraging trips.We found that Swinhoe’s Storm-petrels preferred nearshore areas with shallow water and engaged in primarily short foraging trips.Distinctive southeastward and southwestward strategies emerged when combining trip metrics,including foraging direction,duration,and maximum distance.The bathymetry,proximity to the coastline,and sea surface temperature differed in two foraging strategies.Foraging strategies exhibited flexibility between individuals,potentially explained by wing morphology,in which longer-winged birds are more likely to embark on longer-distance foraging trips.These findings highlight the impact of environmental factors and individual traits on seabirds’foraging decisions in productive marginal sea ecosystems.Our study also provides valuable insights into the foraging ecology of this Asian endemic storm-petrel.展开更多

The total solar radiations reaching the canopy were discussed respectively and the change pattern of radiation in the forest were analyzed in detail. The solar radiation received by canopy counts up to 2580. 64 MJ/m2in growth season, of which. direct solar radiation is 1508. 52 MJ/m2 and scattered radiation 1072. 12 MJ/m’. The radiation energy reaching the forest land surface thronghthe canoPy is 277. 25MJ/m2, with a transmissivity of about 10. 74%- The net production formed by photosynthesis of forest is 16. 89 MJ/m2 and the net radiation reception by the ecosystem comes to 1091. 88 MJ/m2 during growth seasons, therefore the utilisation effciency of solar radiation energy derived ffom the net radiation taken as basis is 1. 55% in the korean pine plantation.展开更多
The ^(17)O anomaly of oxygen(Δ^(17)O,calculated from δ^(17)O and δ^(18)O)trapped in ice-core bubbles and dissolved in ocean has been respectively used to evaluate the past biosphere productivity at a global scale a...The ^(17)O anomaly of oxygen(Δ^(17)O,calculated from δ^(17)O and δ^(18)O)trapped in ice-core bubbles and dissolved in ocean has been respectively used to evaluate the past biosphere productivity at a global scale and gross oxygen production(GOP)in the mixed layer(ML)of ocean.Compared to traditional methods in GOP estimation,triple oxygen isotope(TOI)method provides estimates that ignore incubation bottle effects and calculates GOP on larger spatial and temporal scales.Calculated from TOI of O_(2) trapped in ice-core bubbles,the averaged global biological productivities in past glacial periods were about 0.83-0.94 of the present,and the longest time record reached 400 ka BP(thousand years before the present).TOI-derived GOP estimation has also been widely applied in open oceans and coastal oceans,with emphasis on the ML.Although the TOI method has been widely used in aquatic ecosystems,TOI-based GOP is assumed to be constant at a steady state,and the influence of physical transports below the ML is neglected.The TOI method applied to evaluate past total biospheric productivity is limited by rare samples as well as uncertainties related to O_(2) consumption mechanisms and terrestrial biosphere’s hydrological processes.Future studies should take into account the physical transports below the ML and apply the TOI method in deep ocean.In addition,study on the complex land biosphere mechanisms by triple isotope composition of O_(2) trapped in ice-core bubbles needs to be strengthened.展开更多

The influences of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) in the influent, recirculation ratio, Hydraulic Residence Time (HRT) and Dissolved Oxygen (DO) concentration on the system performances were investigated. From results it could be seen that good performances have been achieved during the overall experiments periods, and COD, Total Nitrogen (TN), NH^+ -N and Suspended Solids (SS) in the effluent were 53, 16, 2 and 24 mg· L^-1, respectively, which has satisfied the first standard of wastewater discharge established by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of China. Furthermore, results showed that operation factors, viz. COD in the influent, recirculation ratio, HRT and DO concentration, all had important influences on the system performances.展开更多
Energy shortages have hindered global economic development.By utilizing waste as a substrate for microbial fermentation,hydrogen production can transform waste into a valuable resource,significantly reducing the cost ...Energy shortages have hindered global economic development.By utilizing waste as a substrate for microbial fermentation,hydrogen production can transform waste into a valuable resource,significantly reducing the cost of hydrogen production and addressing a significant hurdle in achieving large-scale production of microbial hydrogen.This approach has significant potential for future hydrogen-production applications.Two-stage indirect photohydrolysis has recently emerged as a promising and efficient method for hydrogen production using cyanobacteria and green algae.However,this method cannot be directly applied to organic wastewater for hydrogen production.In contrast,dark fermentation by bacteria,particularly ethanol-type fermentation,is highly efficient for producing hydrogen.Therefore,the combination of the indirect photohydrolysis of algae and dark fermentation by bacteria is expected to significantly enhance the hydrogen-production capacity of organic wastewater,laying the groundwork for future large-scale microbial hydrogen production.This study reviews the main types and technical principles of microbial hydrogen production from waste,available waste types,research progress in the microbial hydrogen-production process,strategies to improve the hydrogen-production rate,and challenges faced during industrialization.Future research directions for microbial-waste hydrogen production are also proposed.The aim of this study is to provide a valuable reference for large-scale biological hydrogen-production research.展开更多

Objective:To investigate some phytochemical constituents and biological activities of twelve samples of Tetrapleura tetraptera(Schumach&Thonn.)taub.and nine samples of Aframomum citratum(C.Pereira)K.Schum fruits c...Objective:To investigate some phytochemical constituents and biological activities of twelve samples of Tetrapleura tetraptera(Schumach&Thonn.)taub.and nine samples of Aframomum citratum(C.Pereira)K.Schum fruits collected in the bimodal forest zone(ZONEⅤ),the unimodal forest zone(ZONEⅣ)and the highlands zone(ZONEⅢ)in Cameroon.Methods:Fresh fruits extracts were obtained by aqueous infusion(100℃during 15 min)and evaluated by spectrophotometric methods for total polyphenol(TPP),total flavonoids(TFLV)contents and antioxidant(DPPH,total antioxidant capacity by the phosphomolybdenum method,iron reducing power or ferric reducing antioxidant power and inhibition of beta carotene discoloration assays)and anti-inflammatory(inhibitions of protein denaturation and 5-LOX represented by INH.PROT and INH.5-LOX respectively)properties.Principal component analysis was performed.Results:For both species,fruits from ZONEⅤhave the highest TPP,TFLV levels and biological activities.TPP and TFLV content of Aframomum citratum and Tetrapleura tetraptera fruits are positively and significantly(P<0.05)correlated.The biological activities of all extracts(0.25,2.5,25,250 mg/mL)were dosedependent and the extracts have shown strong antioxidant and antiinflammatory activities,but less than references(ascorbic acid,diclofenac,quercetin,and butylated hydroxytoluene).There was a positive correlation between TPP,TFLV and total antioxidant capacity,ferric reducing antioxidant power,and inhibition of beta carotene discoloration assays,and inverse correlations were observed with the IC50(g/mL)of DPPH,INH.5-LOX and INH.PROT assays for both species.Conclusions:The fruits exhibit variabilities and those from ZONEⅤfor both species are economically and healthcare challenging for herbalists,pharmaceutical firms,scientists and consumers.Indeed,most important extraction yield of bioactive compounds correlated with significant biological activities and the use of less material compared with an implementation in other Agro-ecologic Zones with the same results are noted.展开更多

The antioxidant activity was performed by the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl hydrazyl radical scavenging method. All fractions from the crude extract of Lobophytum sp. were examined for their cytotoxicity using the brine shrimp lethality bioassay and heme polymerization inhibitory activity assay for antimalarial activity.Results: It was found that the ethyl acetate, n-butanol and aqueous fractions exhibited heme polymerization inhibitory activity with IC_(50) values of 11.7, 14.3 and 12.0 mg/m L,respectively, while the n-butanol fraction showed moderate antioxidant activity and cytotoxicity with IC_(50) values of 150.00 and 92.74 mg/m L, respectively.Conclusions: This study provides information on antioxidant, antibacterial and antimalarial activities as well as the cytotoxicity of all fractions from the crude extract of Lobophytum sp. This is a new report of antimalarial substances derived from Lobophytum sp.展开更多
Metabolic syndrome(Met S)has been a growing public health concern worldwide without specific medicine.Through summarizing the chemical structure type and effect mechanisms of natural products targeted on farnesoid X r...Metabolic syndrome(Met S)has been a growing public health concern worldwide without specific medicine.Through summarizing the chemical structure type and effect mechanisms of natural products targeted on farnesoid X receptor(FXR),to provide the research basis for exploring the treatment of Met S.The following databases were searched for natural products which targeting FXR:Pub Med,Embase,the Cochrane Library,Web of Science,China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database,Wanfang Database,China Science and Technology Journal Database,and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database.Totally 120 natural products were summarized,including terpenoids(51 compounds),steroidal saponins(27 compounds),phenylpropanolds(19 compounds),flavonoids(13 compounds),alkaloids(3 compounds)and others(7 compounds),most researches focus on terpenoids and part of synthetic FXR regulators were based on the structure of terpenoids.FXR regulators could improve cholestasis and liver injury,hyperlipidemia,diabetes and atherosclerosis.FXR is a potential target of treating Met S.Natural products are characteristics with unique novel structures and special biological activity,and they are important sources of bioactive precursor compounds and drug discovery.Exploring the effects and mechanism of natural products and its derivative on Met S by targeting FXR may be a new way to develop the new drugs of treating Met S.展开更多

The ability of antioxidants by FRAP showed that substances are capable of reducing Fe<sup>3+</sup> and most of C3, the ability to inhibit the growth of bacteria with the lowest MIC and MBC values and the ability to Chilo polychrysus (Meyrick) found that C1 and C2 showed LT<sub>50</sub> at 24 h and 48 h (19.00 and 19.33). These particles should develop as biological agents to reduce the use of chemicals that are harmful to humans and the environment.
文摘[Objective]The aim was to establish the linear regression prediction models between sowing time and plant productivity, biological yield of forage sorghum in autumn idle land.[Method]The relationships between sowing time and plant productivity, biological yield of forage sorghum were simulated and compared by using field experiment and linear regression analysis.[Result] The sowing time had an important influence on the plant productivity and biological yield of forage sorghum in autumn idle land. The plant productivity and biological yield of forage sorghum both decreased with the delay of sowing time.The regression model between plant fresh weight and sowing time was ?fresh=0.618-0.015x; the regression model between plant dry weight and sowing time was ?dry=0.184-0.005x; and the regression model between biological yield and sowing time was yield=29 126.461-711.448x. During July 23rd to August 30th, when the sowing time was delayed by 1 day, the plant fresh weight of forage sorghum was reduced by 0.015 g, the plant dry weight was reduced by 0.005 g, and the yield was reduced by 711.448 kg/hm2. [Conclusion] The three regression models established in this study will provide theoretical support for the production of forage sorghum.

文摘Understanding the foraging behavior is essential for investigating seabird ecology and conservation,as well as monitoring the well-being of the marine environment.Breeding seabirds adopt diverse foraging strategies to maximize energy gains and cope with the intensified challenges of parenting and self-maintenance.Such tradeoff may stem from the heterogeneity of food resources and the constraints of central place foraging.Nevertheless,abundant marine productivity could alleviate the energy limitation for seabirds,resulting in a consistent foraging approach.Here,we investigated the foraging strategy during the breeding season of a cryptic small-sized seabird,Swinhoe’s Storm-petrel(Hydrobates monorhis),in the Yellow Sea,a productive marginal sea of the Northwest Pacific.Using GPS tracking,we evaluated habitat preference,quantified the foraging strategy,and tested if environmental conditions and individual traits influence foraging trips.We found that Swinhoe’s Storm-petrels preferred nearshore areas with shallow water and engaged in primarily short foraging trips.Distinctive southeastward and southwestward strategies emerged when combining trip metrics,including foraging direction,duration,and maximum distance.The bathymetry,proximity to the coastline,and sea surface temperature differed in two foraging strategies.Foraging strategies exhibited flexibility between individuals,potentially explained by wing morphology,in which longer-winged birds are more likely to embark on longer-distance foraging trips.These findings highlight the impact of environmental factors and individual traits on seabirds’foraging decisions in productive marginal sea ecosystems.Our study also provides valuable insights into the foraging ecology of this Asian endemic storm-petrel.
文摘This investigation was carried out with the 28-year-old korean Pine plantation in Maoershan Area of Heilonaiiang Province. The paper revealed the character of energy distribution in korean Pine plantation. The total solar radiations reaching the canopy were discussed respectively and the change pattern of radiation in the forest were analyzed in detail. The solar radiation received by canopy counts up to 2580. 64 MJ/m2in growth season, of which. direct solar radiation is 1508. 52 MJ/m2 and scattered radiation 1072. 12 MJ/m’. The radiation energy reaching the forest land surface thronghthe canoPy is 277. 25MJ/m2, with a transmissivity of about 10. 74%- The net production formed by photosynthesis of forest is 16. 89 MJ/m2 and the net radiation reception by the ecosystem comes to 1091. 88 MJ/m2 during growth seasons, therefore the utilisation effciency of solar radiation energy derived ffom the net radiation taken as basis is 1. 55% in the korean pine plantation.

文摘The ^(17)O anomaly of oxygen(Δ^(17)O,calculated from δ^(17)O and δ^(18)O)trapped in ice-core bubbles and dissolved in ocean has been respectively used to evaluate the past biosphere productivity at a global scale and gross oxygen production(GOP)in the mixed layer(ML)of ocean.Compared to traditional methods in GOP estimation,triple oxygen isotope(TOI)method provides estimates that ignore incubation bottle effects and calculates GOP on larger spatial and temporal scales.Calculated from TOI of O_(2) trapped in ice-core bubbles,the averaged global biological productivities in past glacial periods were about 0.83-0.94 of the present,and the longest time record reached 400 ka BP(thousand years before the present).TOI-derived GOP estimation has also been widely applied in open oceans and coastal oceans,with emphasis on the ML.Although the TOI method has been widely used in aquatic ecosystems,TOI-based GOP is assumed to be constant at a steady state,and the influence of physical transports below the ML is neglected.The TOI method applied to evaluate past total biospheric productivity is limited by rare samples as well as uncertainties related to O_(2) consumption mechanisms and terrestrial biosphere’s hydrological processes.Future studies should take into account the physical transports below the ML and apply the TOI method in deep ocean.In addition,study on the complex land biosphere mechanisms by triple isotope composition of O_(2) trapped in ice-core bubbles needs to be strengthened.

文摘A combined system consisting of hydrolysis acidification, denitrification and nitrification reactors was used to remove carbon and nitrogen from the nylon - 6 production wastewater, which was characterized by good biodegradability and high nitrogen concentration. The influences of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) in the influent, recirculation ratio, Hydraulic Residence Time (HRT) and Dissolved Oxygen (DO) concentration on the system performances were investigated. From results it could be seen that good performances have been achieved during the overall experiments periods, and COD, Total Nitrogen (TN), NH^+ -N and Suspended Solids (SS) in the effluent were 53, 16, 2 and 24 mg· L^-1, respectively, which has satisfied the first standard of wastewater discharge established by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of China. Furthermore, results showed that operation factors, viz. COD in the influent, recirculation ratio, HRT and DO concentration, all had important influences on the system performances.

文摘Energy shortages have hindered global economic development.By utilizing waste as a substrate for microbial fermentation,hydrogen production can transform waste into a valuable resource,significantly reducing the cost of hydrogen production and addressing a significant hurdle in achieving large-scale production of microbial hydrogen.This approach has significant potential for future hydrogen-production applications.Two-stage indirect photohydrolysis has recently emerged as a promising and efficient method for hydrogen production using cyanobacteria and green algae.However,this method cannot be directly applied to organic wastewater for hydrogen production.In contrast,dark fermentation by bacteria,particularly ethanol-type fermentation,is highly efficient for producing hydrogen.Therefore,the combination of the indirect photohydrolysis of algae and dark fermentation by bacteria is expected to significantly enhance the hydrogen-production capacity of organic wastewater,laying the groundwork for future large-scale microbial hydrogen production.This study reviews the main types and technical principles of microbial hydrogen production from waste,available waste types,research progress in the microbial hydrogen-production process,strategies to improve the hydrogen-production rate,and challenges faced during industrialization.Future research directions for microbial-waste hydrogen production are also proposed.The aim of this study is to provide a valuable reference for large-scale biological hydrogen-production research.
文摘As a result of agriculture practices, million tons of agriculture are produced as a secondary or by-products; however, with low nutritive values. Many methods are applied to improve the nutritive value and increase its utilization in ruminant's nutrition. The biological treatments are the most common with more safe-treated products. In most cases, the biological treatments are paralleled with decreased crude fiber and fiber fractions content with increased crude protein content. Direct-fed microbial and exogenous enzymes to animal are other ways of biological methods for improving nutritive value of feeds. Here in this review, we will try to cover the biological treatments of by-products from different sides view with different types of animals and different animal end-products.
文摘Many biologic products have improved the outcomes of cancer patients,but the costs can substantially burden healthcare systems.Biosimilar products can potentially reduce drug costs and increase patient access to beneficial treatments.Approval of a biosimilar product relies on the demonstration of "comparability" or "no clinically meaningful differences" as compared to its reference biologic product.Biosimilar products for erythropoietin,granulocyte colonystimulating factor,trastuzumab,and rituximab are already available,and the regulatory processes in various countries are constantly evolving.It is important that oncologists be familiar with the potential issues surrounding the clinical use of biosimilar products.In this review article,we provide background information about biosimilar products and their regulatory approval processes,followed by a discussion of individual biosimilar drugs.
文摘Objective:To investigate some phytochemical constituents and biological activities of twelve samples of Tetrapleura tetraptera(Schumach&Thonn.)taub.and nine samples of Aframomum citratum(C.Pereira)K.Schum fruits collected in the bimodal forest zone(ZONEⅤ),the unimodal forest zone(ZONEⅣ)and the highlands zone(ZONEⅢ)in Cameroon.Methods:Fresh fruits extracts were obtained by aqueous infusion(100℃during 15 min)and evaluated by spectrophotometric methods for total polyphenol(TPP),total flavonoids(TFLV)contents and antioxidant(DPPH,total antioxidant capacity by the phosphomolybdenum method,iron reducing power or ferric reducing antioxidant power and inhibition of beta carotene discoloration assays)and anti-inflammatory(inhibitions of protein denaturation and 5-LOX represented by INH.PROT and INH.5-LOX respectively)properties.Principal component analysis was performed.Results:For both species,fruits from ZONEⅤhave the highest TPP,TFLV levels and biological activities.TPP and TFLV content of Aframomum citratum and Tetrapleura tetraptera fruits are positively and significantly(P<0.05)correlated.The biological activities of all extracts(0.25,2.5,25,250 mg/mL)were dosedependent and the extracts have shown strong antioxidant and antiinflammatory activities,but less than references(ascorbic acid,diclofenac,quercetin,and butylated hydroxytoluene).There was a positive correlation between TPP,TFLV and total antioxidant capacity,ferric reducing antioxidant power,and inhibition of beta carotene discoloration assays,and inverse correlations were observed with the IC50(g/mL)of DPPH,INH.5-LOX and INH.PROT assays for both species.Conclusions:The fruits exhibit variabilities and those from ZONEⅤfor both species are economically and healthcare challenging for herbalists,pharmaceutical firms,scientists and consumers.Indeed,most important extraction yield of bioactive compounds correlated with significant biological activities and the use of less material compared with an implementation in other Agro-ecologic Zones with the same results are noted.

文摘Objective: To investigate the antioxidant, antibacterial, antimalarial activities and cytotoxicity of the n-hexane, ethyl acetate, n-butanol, and aqueous fractions from a crude extract of Lobophytum sp.Methods: This organism was collected from the Selayar Islands(South Sulawesi). The antioxidant activity was performed by the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl hydrazyl radical scavenging method. All fractions from the crude extract of Lobophytum sp. were examined for their cytotoxicity using the brine shrimp lethality bioassay and heme polymerization inhibitory activity assay for antimalarial activity.Results: It was found that the ethyl acetate, n-butanol and aqueous fractions exhibited heme polymerization inhibitory activity with IC_(50) values of 11.7, 14.3 and 12.0 mg/m L,respectively, while the n-butanol fraction showed moderate antioxidant activity and cytotoxicity with IC_(50) values of 150.00 and 92.74 mg/m L, respectively.Conclusions: This study provides information on antioxidant, antibacterial and antimalarial activities as well as the cytotoxicity of all fractions from the crude extract of Lobophytum sp. This is a new report of antimalarial substances derived from Lobophytum sp.

文摘Metabolic syndrome(Met S)has been a growing public health concern worldwide without specific medicine.Through summarizing the chemical structure type and effect mechanisms of natural products targeted on farnesoid X receptor(FXR),to provide the research basis for exploring the treatment of Met S.The following databases were searched for natural products which targeting FXR:Pub Med,Embase,the Cochrane Library,Web of Science,China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database,Wanfang Database,China Science and Technology Journal Database,and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database.Totally 120 natural products were summarized,including terpenoids(51 compounds),steroidal saponins(27 compounds),phenylpropanolds(19 compounds),flavonoids(13 compounds),alkaloids(3 compounds)and others(7 compounds),most researches focus on terpenoids and part of synthetic FXR regulators were based on the structure of terpenoids.FXR regulators could improve cholestasis and liver injury,hyperlipidemia,diabetes and atherosclerosis.FXR is a potential target of treating Met S.Natural products are characteristics with unique novel structures and special biological activity,and they are important sources of bioactive precursor compounds and drug discovery.Exploring the effects and mechanism of natural products and its derivative on Met S by targeting FXR may be a new way to develop the new drugs of treating Met S.
