The high-resolution azimuthal resistivity laterolog response in a fractured formation was numerically simulated using a three-dimensional finite element method. Simulation results show that the azimuthal resistivity is determined by fracture dipping as well as dipping direction, while the amplitude differences between deep and shallow laterolog resistivities are mainly controlled by the former. A linear relationship exists between the corrected apparent conductivities and fracture aperture. With the same fracture aperture, the deep and shallow laterolog resistivities present small values with negative separations for low-angle fractures, while azimuthal resistivities have large variations with positive separations for high-angle fractures that intersect the borehole. For dipping fractures, the variation of the azimuthal resistivity becomes larger when the fracture aperture increases. In addition, for high-angle fractures far from the borehole, a negative separation between the deep and shallow resistivities exists when fracture aperture is large as well as high resistivity contrast exists between bedrock and fracture fluid. The decreasing amplitude of dual laterolog resistivity can indicate the aperture of low-angle fractures, and the variation of the deep azimuthal resistivity can give information of the aperture of high-angle fractures and their position relative to the borehole. 展开更多

To aim at the problem that the horizontal directivity index of the vector hy- drophone vertical array is not higher than that of a vector hydrophone, the high-resolution azimuth estimation algorithm based on the data fusion method was presented. The proposed algorithnl first employs MUSIC algorithm to estimate the azimuth of each divided sub-band signal, and then the estimated azimuths of multiple hydrophones are processed by using the data fusion technique. The high-resolution estimated result is achieved finally by adopting the weighted histogram statistics method. The results of the simulation and sea trials indicated that the proposed algorithm has better azimuth estimation performance than MUSIC algorithm of a single vector hydrophone and the data fusion technique based on the acoustic energy flux method. The better performance is reflected in the aspects of the estimation precision, the probability of correct estimation, the capability to distinguish multi-objects and the inhibition of the noise sub-bands. 展开更多

The Middle-Lower Yangtze River is a typical transition region between the nearly NW-oriented Tethys and NE-trending Pacific tectonic regimes.Structures of different periods and directions overlap strongly during these processes. The NE-trending Yangtze River compound structural belt and NW-trending Tongling-Hangzhou structural belt both control the magmatic activities and distributions of the metallogenic belts in the area. Here,we obtain 3-D high-resolution isotropic and azimuthally anisotropic velocity structures at depths of 1–10 km using the first arrivals from airgun sources. The velocity maps correspond well with the tectonic structures, with high-velocity anomalies distributed in ore-concentrated districts and low-velocity anomalies distributed along the Yangtze River. The fast directions are generally consistent with the fault strike, indicating that the azimuthal anisotropy is mainly dominated by the fault and fracture trends in the upper crust. The complicated fast directions near the Luzong and Tongling ore deposits reveal complex deformations in the upper crust, which are mainly caused by the intersection of the Yangtze River compound and Tongling-Hangzhou structural belts. The magma intrusion beneath the two ore deposits(Luzong and Tongling)are connected at depths of 5–10 km. 展开更多
