AB093.Ocular tissues bank for vision health research

Background:This infrastructure delivers biological material necessary for several research projects to Vision Health Research Network investigators(VHRN).Methods:Héma-Québec is the organism in charge obtaining consent and retrieving donor eyes for patient treatment or for research.In Quebec City,donor eyes are sent to the eye bank of the“Centre Universitaire d’Ophtalmologie”(CUO)of Saint-Sacrement hospital.Technicians at the eye bank evaluate the quality of the tissues.Those unfit for graft are transferred to the infrastructure where the coordinator encodes samples prior to their distribution.Results:Between 2013 and 2017,27 fundamental investigators,clinical investigators and collaborators supported by 60 students,trainees and laboratory assistants used this infrastructure to move forward their projects.Since 2013,results from those projects generated 21 scientific publications and 232 presentations.The infrastructure helped VHRN investigators obtain near 4 million dollars in grants from many organisms(CIHR,NSERC,Foundations,etc.).These grants allowed recruitment and formation of highly qualified personnel.Last year(April 2016 to March 2017),189 corneas and 23 eyes transited through the infrastructure.Conclusions:This infrastructure is available for all investigators that are members of the VHRN.Many original projects have been elaborated thanks to the human ocular tissues provided by this infrastructure.These projects will advance our knowledge in vision health.A better understanding of eye functions will lead to new treatments for eye diseases.

Shandong University Human Rights Research Center

I. Overview The Shandong University Human Rights Research Center was founded in 1990 by the university as the ＂hu- man rights research office.＂It is one of the earliest human rights research institutions in China. In 1994, Shandong University decided to upgrade the office to become the current research center. Prof. Xu Xianming was its first director. In order to enhance human rights law studies and showcase the latest developments in human fights research in China, the center launched the well- recognized academic journal Human Rights Research in 1998.

I. Overview The Human Rights Research Center of the Renmin University of China was established on Oct. 8, 1991, and was among the first human rights research institutions at a Chinese university. The center is composed of experts and scholars on law, economics, sociology, philosophy and politics. Prof. Zheng Hangsheng is the director of the center and Prof. Gu Dechun is the deputy director. In 1996, the center was listed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in the fourth edition of the Directory of World Human Rights Research and Training Organizations. I. Introduction The Human Rights Law Research Center of Sichuan University was established in 2004. The center, which relies on the university, combines the functions of theoretical research, teaching and training, and social service. I. Symposium on National Human Rights Institutions and Research Topics Academic research in the Chinese mainland on national human rights institutions started in February 2003. From October 16-17, 2004, the China University of Political Science and Law organized an international sympo- sium in Qingdao, Shandong Province, on research about national human rights protection institutions, inviting experts from Australia, South Africa and Canada to brief the symposium on related information concerning the Asia-Pacific region and South Africa as well as to provide information about Canada＇s National Human Rights Commission. Image Semantic Segmentation Approach for Studying Human Behavior on Image Data

Image semantic segmentation is an essential technique for studying human behavior through image data.This paper proposes an image semantic segmentation method for human behavior research.Firstly,an end-to-end convolutional neural network architecture is proposed,which consists of a depth-separable jump-connected fully convolutional network and a conditional random field network;then jump-connected convolution is used to classify each pixel in the image,and an image semantic segmentation method based on convolu-tional neural network is proposed;and then a conditional random field network is used to improve the effect of image segmentation of hu-man behavior and a linear modeling and nonlinear modeling method based on the semantic segmentation of conditional random field im-age is proposed.Finally,using the proposed image segmentation network,the input entrepreneurial image data is semantically segmented to obtain the contour features of the person;and the segmentation of the images in the medical field.The experimental results show that the image semantic segmentation method is effective.It is a new way to use image data to study human behavior and can be extended to other research areas.

Research of bright pupil effect based on Chinese human eye model

An optical model of bright pupil effect based on Chinese human eye model is presented. The effects of the incident rays angle and the size of pupil on bright pupil effect are analyzed theoretically. For the incident rays with 5°–15° field of view, the spot diagram of emergent light is also presented. With the pupil diameters of 3–8 mm, the intensity distributions formed by emergent light are calculated. The optical model of bright pupil effect based on Chinese human eye provides a suitable model for the related further research studies and applications on bright pupil effect with Chinese eye.
