Gastric hamartomatous inverted polyps(GHIP)are difficult to diagnose accurately because of inversion into the submucosal layer.GHIP are diagnosed using the pathological characteristics of the tumor,including the fibro...Gastric hamartomatous inverted polyps(GHIP)are difficult to diagnose accurately because of inversion into the submucosal layer.GHIP are diagnosed using the pathological characteristics of the tumor,including the fibroblast cells,smooth muscle,nerve components,glandular hyperplasia,and cystic gland dilatation.Although Peutz-Jeghers syndrome,juvenile polyposis,and Cowden disease are hereditary,it is rare to encounter 2 cases of monostotic and asymptomatic gastric hamartomas.The pathogeneses of hamartomatous inverted polyps and inverted hyperplastic polyps remain controversial because of the paucity of reported cases.There are 3 hypotheses regarding the pathogenesis of complete gastric inverted polyps.Based on our experience with 2 successive,rare GHIP cases,we affirm the hypothesis that after a hamartomatous change occurs in the submucosal layer,some of these components are exposed to the gastric mucosa and,consequently,form a hypertrophic lesion.In Case 1,our hypothesis explains why a tiny hypertrophic change was first detected on the top of the submucosal tumor using a detailed narrow band imaging-magnified endoscopy.There was no confirmation that the milky white mucous and calcification structures were exuding directly from the biopsy site like Case 1,and in Case 2 the presence of this mucous was indirectly confirmed during an endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD).Regarding the pathogenesis of GHIP,a submucosal hamartomatous change may occur prior to the growth of hypertrophic portions.An en bloc resection using ESD is recommended for treatment.展开更多

From an engineering point of view, a technique called the linear assignment problem (LAP) used in the implementation of M-best feasible hypotheses generation, the number of the hypotheses is relatively small compared with the total number that may exist in each scan, also the N-scan back pruning is used, the algorithm's efficiency and practicality have been improved. Monte Carlo simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can track the boost phase of multiple ballistic missiles and it has a good tracking performance compared with joint probability data association (JPDA).展开更多

A way around this problem is to use range null hypotheses [2]. But the use of range null hypotheses also is problematic. Aside from the usual issues of whether null hypothesis significance tests can be justified at all, there is an issue that is specific to range null hypotheses. It is not straightforward how to calculate the probability of the data given a range null hypothesis. The traditional way is to use the single point that maximizes the obtained p-value. The Bayesian alternative is to propose a prior probability distribution and integrate across it. Because frequentists and Bayesians disagree about a variety of issues, especially those pertaining to whether it is permissible to assign probabilities to hypotheses, and what gets lost in the shuffle is that the two camps actually come to different answers for the probability of the data given a range null hypothesis. Because the probability of the data given the hypothesis is a precursor for both camps, for drawing conclusions about hypotheses, different values for this probability for the different camps is crucial but seldom acknowledged. Under each of the appropriate null hypotheses, it was observed that none of the derived EMS was unbiased for the other. Unbiased estimators of the mean squares were determined to test hypotheses. With the unbiased estimators,?appropriate F-statistics as well as their corresponding pseudo-degrees of freedom were obtained. In reality, with the relative motion of interacting particles, their interactions force changes, and not their mass. It is shown that models of such stellar associations as globular clusters and galaxies should be created on the basis of the substance that exists on Earth. The second peer-reviewed paper proposes to create LIGO on the Moon. It is shown that gravitational waves do not exist. They were introduced to explain the excessive rotation of the Mercury’s perihelion. However, the excessive rotation of the Mercury’s perihelion is due to the Sun oblateness. The paper shows that gravitational waves, the Big Bang, the expanding Universe, dark matter, dark energy, etc. appeared on the basis of unfounded hypotheses. The purpose of this paper is to prepare nursing students to make better judgments in the clinical setting and realign learning and teaching. <strong>Methods: </strong>We used six steps to arrive at a competent clinical judgment suggested by the National Council State Board of Nursing (NSCBN) as a clinical judgment model 1) recognizing cues, 2) analyzing cues, 3) prioritizing hypotheses, 4) generating solutions, 5) taking an action, and 6) evaluating outcomes during the head-to-toe examination of the patient. <strong>Results: </strong>The primary outcomes are stabilization of the hemodynamics of the patient and prevention of further blood loss. Fluids are being given to help keep the vascular volume from being depleted, but they cannot solve the underlying problem. Continued assessment, intervention, and monitoring of vital signs through the course of the hospital stay ending with the patient’s discharge. <strong>Discussion:</strong> Survivors of sexual assault are unique for a nurse to provide care. The nurse needs to assess, intervene, monitor, and pay attention to detail of the 6 steps to clinical judgment, resulting in positive outcomes for their patient. <strong>Conclusions:</strong> Forensic nursing is a field of nursing that focuses on sexual assault survivor care and works to make the aftermath of their tragic situation easier to cope with. Strengthening clinical judgment skills could remedy significant mistakes made by novice forensic nurses. This conflict with an otherwise inviolate principle justifies re-examination of the arguments leading to its (ostensible) rejection. Herein the historically essential notion, namely wave-collapse by measurement or the “Projection Hypothesis” of von Neumann is brought to attention and seen to violate Popper’s Principle of negatability;thereby disqualifying it as a scientific proposition. Further, it is observed that polarization of electromagnetic signals as used in experiments testing Bell Inequalities is described by structure excluding quantum principles. Consequently, most experiments taken to verify Bell’s conclusions cannot in principle do so: a quantum effect cannot be found where there is no quantum structure. Finally, a simple simulation which demonstrates the classical (electromagnetic) generation of the data that violates a Bell Inequality, thereby proving by counterexample that Bell’s so-called theorem is misunderstood, is presented.展开更多

This metabolic disease is characterized by hyperglycemia, insulin de ficiency or insulin resistance. This disorder categorized into type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Type 1 usually initiate from childhood, have an autoimmune background and associated with destroying of beta cells of pancreas. Type 2 diabetes is defined as insulin resistance, hyperglycemia and usually appears in adulthood. In the process of diabetes, hyperglycemia and oxidative stress can induce diabetic retinopathy, nephropathy, neuropathy and cardiovascular disease. According to literature, oxidative stress and chronic inflammation play an essential role in initiation and development of the complications of diabetes. Hence, inhibition of chronic inflammation and oxidative stress besides with glycemic control is important to prevent from these clinical complications. Some researches explained the antioxidant and anti- inflammatory property of vitamin C in patients with diabetes mellitus. Moreover, ascorbic acid can help to better glycemic control in these patients. Thus, we propose a new idea to convert excess amount of glucose to vitamin C for treatment of patients with diabetes mellitus. By performing this idea, we can achieve to better clinical management of diabetes in terms of glycemic control and prevention of oxidative stress which lead to significant decrease in clinical complications.展开更多

If it is structured, the sha...This paper proposes a novel method based on statistical tests of hypotheses, such as F-ratio and Welch’s t-tests. The input query image is examined whether it is a textured or structured. If it is structured, the shapes are segregated into various regions according to its nature;otherwise, it is treated as textured image and considered the entire image as it is for the experiment. The aforesaid tests are applied regions-wise. First, the F-ratio test is applied, if the images pass the test, then it is proceeded to test the spectrum of energy, i.e. means of the two images. If the images pass both tests, then it is concluded that the two images are the same or similar. Otherwise, they differ. Since the proposed system is distribution-based, it is invariant for rotation and scaling. Also, the system facilitates the user to fix the number of images to be retrieved, because the user can fix the level of significance according to their requirements. We analyze ten of the longest (127 to 230 year-long) time series of European daily temperatures available from five different Köppen-Geiger climate classes. We split these according to the level of solar cycl...We analyze ten of the longest (127 to 230 year-long) time series of European daily temperatures available from five different Köppen-Geiger climate classes. We split these according to the level of solar cycle activity (H for “higher than median” and L for “lower than median”). This reveals coherent patterns in the temperature differences: when TH-TL?are stacked according to their calendar date, the daily averages from January 1 to December 31st disclose characteristic features in addition to the dominant annual seasonal wave, namely variations up to 2°C lasting for about 1.5 to 3 months. The five observatories at intermediate latitudes in a band from Oxford in the West to Prague in the East (same climate class) have very similar signatures. These similarities are most unlikely to be due to pure chance (confirmed by confidence levels in excess of 99% with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Kuiper nonparametric tests). The TH-TL patterns carry a regional signature, modulated by a more local response function. On the other hand, northern European observatories (St Petersburg and Arkhangelsk), those south of the Alps (Milan and Bologna), and the easternmost one in Astrakhan, corresponding to different climate classes, have different signatures. Similarly, preliminary study of long air pressure recordings confirms what emerges from the analysis of temperatures. These new observations lead us to conclude that the climate in different regions presents different responses to variations in solar activity. Moreover, the distributions of the lower, middle, and higher quartiles of the temperature and pressure indices in solar cycles with high versus low activity are significantly different, providing further robust statistical confirmation to this conclusion (confidence level higher to much higher than 99% using the Kuiper test).展开更多

This paper deals with the problem of testing hypotheses, when the hypotheses are fuzzy and the data are crisp. We first give new definitions for notion of mass (density) probability function with fuzzy parameter, probability of type I and type II errors and then state and prove the sequential probability ratio test, on the basis of these new errors, for testing fuzzy hypotheses. Numerical examples are also provided to illustrate the approach.
文摘In the study, a method of solving ANOVA problems based on an unbalanced three-way mixed effects model with interaction for data when factors A and B are fixed, and factor C is random was presented, and the required EMS was derived. Under each of the appropriate null hypotheses, it was observed that none of the derived EMS was unbiased for the other. Unbiased estimators of the mean squares were determined to test hypotheses. With the unbiased estimators,?appropriate F-statistics as well as their corresponding pseudo-degrees of freedom were obtained. The theoretical results presented in the paper were?illustrated using a numerical example.
文摘Two reviews of papers are considered. The first paper for a galaxy model uses matter consisting of neutrinos, bosons and other similar particles. It is shown that these particles were introduced as a result of an incorrect description of interactions in the Theory of Relativity. In reality, with the relative motion of interacting particles, their interactions force changes, and not their mass. It is shown that models of such stellar associations as globular clusters and galaxies should be created on the basis of the substance that exists on Earth. The second peer-reviewed paper proposes to create LIGO on the Moon. It is shown that gravitational waves do not exist. They were introduced to explain the excessive rotation of the Mercury’s perihelion. However, the excessive rotation of the Mercury’s perihelion is due to the Sun oblateness. The paper shows that gravitational waves, the Big Bang, the expanding Universe, dark matter, dark energy, etc. appeared on the basis of unfounded hypotheses. The urgent task is to eliminate them from science.
文摘<strong>Background:</strong> Clinical judgment is a specific role that establishes a professional identity. The purpose of this paper is to prepare nursing students to make better judgments in the clinical setting and realign learning and teaching. <strong>Methods: </strong>We used six steps to arrive at a competent clinical judgment suggested by the National Council State Board of Nursing (NSCBN) as a clinical judgment model 1) recognizing cues, 2) analyzing cues, 3) prioritizing hypotheses, 4) generating solutions, 5) taking an action, and 6) evaluating outcomes during the head-to-toe examination of the patient. <strong>Results: </strong>The primary outcomes are stabilization of the hemodynamics of the patient and prevention of further blood loss. Fluids are being given to help keep the vascular volume from being depleted, but they cannot solve the underlying problem. Continued assessment, intervention, and monitoring of vital signs through the course of the hospital stay ending with the patient’s discharge. <strong>Discussion:</strong> Survivors of sexual assault are unique for a nurse to provide care. The nurse needs to assess, intervene, monitor, and pay attention to detail of the 6 steps to clinical judgment, resulting in positive outcomes for their patient. <strong>Conclusions:</strong> Forensic nursing is a field of nursing that focuses on sexual assault survivor care and works to make the aftermath of their tragic situation easier to cope with. Strengthening clinical judgment skills could remedy significant mistakes made by novice forensic nurses. Critical thinking and clinical ethical reasoning are the building blocks of clinical judgment.
文摘Entanglement is defined in terms of some kind of instantaneous interaction, contrary to the relativistic principle that all interaction is possible only at a velocity less than that of light. This conflict with an otherwise inviolate principle justifies re-examination of the arguments leading to its (ostensible) rejection. Herein the historically essential notion, namely wave-collapse by measurement or the “Projection Hypothesis” of von Neumann is brought to attention and seen to violate Popper’s Principle of negatability;thereby disqualifying it as a scientific proposition. Further, it is observed that polarization of electromagnetic signals as used in experiments testing Bell Inequalities is described by structure excluding quantum principles. Consequently, most experiments taken to verify Bell’s conclusions cannot in principle do so: a quantum effect cannot be found where there is no quantum structure. Finally, a simple simulation which demonstrates the classical (electromagnetic) generation of the data that violates a Bell Inequality, thereby proving by counterexample that Bell’s so-called theorem is misunderstood, is presented.
文摘Through changing in lifestyle and increasing the global prevalence of diabetes mellitus, its crucial to find new approaches for treatment of this disease. This metabolic disease is characterized by hyperglycemia, insulin de ficiency or insulin resistance. This disorder categorized into type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Type 1 usually initiate from childhood, have an autoimmune background and associated with destroying of beta cells of pancreas. Type 2 diabetes is defined as insulin resistance, hyperglycemia and usually appears in adulthood. In the process of diabetes, hyperglycemia and oxidative stress can induce diabetic retinopathy, nephropathy, neuropathy and cardiovascular disease. According to literature, oxidative stress and chronic inflammation play an essential role in initiation and development of the complications of diabetes. Hence, inhibition of chronic inflammation and oxidative stress besides with glycemic control is important to prevent from these clinical complications. Some researches explained the antioxidant and anti- inflammatory property of vitamin C in patients with diabetes mellitus. Moreover, ascorbic acid can help to better glycemic control in these patients. Thus, we propose a new idea to convert excess amount of glucose to vitamin C for treatment of patients with diabetes mellitus. By performing this idea, we can achieve to better clinical management of diabetes in terms of glycemic control and prevention of oxidative stress which lead to significant decrease in clinical complications.
文摘This paper proposes a novel method based on statistical tests of hypotheses, such as F-ratio and Welch’s t-tests. The input query image is examined whether it is a textured or structured. If it is structured, the shapes are segregated into various regions according to its nature;otherwise, it is treated as textured image and considered the entire image as it is for the experiment. The aforesaid tests are applied regions-wise. First, the F-ratio test is applied, if the images pass the test, then it is proceeded to test the spectrum of energy, i.e. means of the two images. If the images pass both tests, then it is concluded that the two images are the same or similar. Otherwise, they differ. Since the proposed system is distribution-based, it is invariant for rotation and scaling. Also, the system facilitates the user to fix the number of images to be retrieved, because the user can fix the level of significance according to their requirements. These are the main advantages of the proposed system.
文摘We analyze ten of the longest (127 to 230 year-long) time series of European daily temperatures available from five different Köppen-Geiger climate classes. We split these according to the level of solar cycle activity (H for “higher than median” and L for “lower than median”). This reveals coherent patterns in the temperature differences: when TH-TL?are stacked according to their calendar date, the daily averages from January 1 to December 31st disclose characteristic features in addition to the dominant annual seasonal wave, namely variations up to 2°C lasting for about 1.5 to 3 months. The five observatories at intermediate latitudes in a band from Oxford in the West to Prague in the East (same climate class) have very similar signatures. These similarities are most unlikely to be due to pure chance (confirmed by confidence levels in excess of 99% with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Kuiper nonparametric tests). The TH-TL patterns carry a regional signature, modulated by a more local response function. On the other hand, northern European observatories (St Petersburg and Arkhangelsk), those south of the Alps (Milan and Bologna), and the easternmost one in Astrakhan, corresponding to different climate classes, have different signatures. Similarly, preliminary study of long air pressure recordings confirms what emerges from the analysis of temperatures. These new observations lead us to conclude that the climate in different regions presents different responses to variations in solar activity. Moreover, the distributions of the lower, middle, and higher quartiles of the temperature and pressure indices in solar cycles with high versus low activity are significantly different, providing further robust statistical confirmation to this conclusion (confidence level higher to much higher than 99% using the Kuiper test).
