Recently,a reversible image transformation(RIT)technology that transforms a secret image to a freely-selected target image is proposed.It not only can generate a stego-image that looks similar to the target image,but also can recover the secret image without any loss.It also has been proved to be very useful in image content protection and reversible data hiding in encrypted images.However,the standard deviation(SD)is selected as the only feature during the matching of the secret and target image blocks in RIT methods,the matching result is not so good and needs to be further improved since the distributions of SDs of the two images may be not very similar.Therefore,this paper proposes a Gray level co-occurrence matrix(GLCM)based approach for reversible image transformation,in which,an effective feature extraction algorithm is utilized to increase the accuracy of blocks matching for improving the visual quality of transformed image,while the auxiliary information,which is utilized to record the transformation parameters,is not increased.Thus,the visual quality of the stego-image should be improved.Experimental results also show that the root mean square of stego-image can be reduced by 4.24%compared with the previous method. 展开更多

We consider image transformation problems,and the objective is to translate images from a source domain to a target one.The problem is challenging since it is difficult to preserve the key properties of the source images,and to make the details of target being as distinguishable as possible.To solve this problem,we propose an informative coupled generative adversarial networks(ICoGAN).For each domain,an adversarial generator-and-discriminator network is constructed.Basically,we make an approximately-shared latent space assumption by a mutual information mechanism,which enables the algorithm to learn representations of both domains in unsupervised setting,and to transform the key properties of images from source to target.Moreover,to further enhance the performance,a weightsharing constraint between two subnetworks,and different level perceptual losses extracted from the intermediate layers of the networks are combined.With quantitative and visual results presented on the tasks of edge to photo transformation,face attribute transfer,and image inpainting,we demonstrate the ICo-GAN’s effectiveness,as compared with other state-of-the-art algorithms. 展开更多

Simultaneous localization and mapping(SLAM) technology becomes more and more important in robot localization. The purpose of this paper is to improve the robustness of visual features to lighting changes and increase the recall rate of map re-localization under different lighting environments by optimizing the image transformation model. An image transformation method based on matches and photometric error(name the method as MPT) is proposed in this paper, and it is seamlessly integrated into the pre-processing stage of the feature-based visual SLAM framework. The results of the experiment show that the MPT method has a better matching effect on different visual features. In addition, the image transformation module encapsulated by a robot operating system(ROS) can be used with multiple visual SLAM systems and improve its re-localization effect under different lighting environments. 展开更多

Methods Image fusion technology was applied to biological cell imaging processing. It could match the images and improve the confidence and spatial resolution of the images. Using two algorithms, double thresholds algorithm and denoising algorithm based on wavelet transform,the fluorescence image and transmission image of a Cell were merged into a composite image. Results and Conclusion The position of fluorescence and the structure of cell can be displyed in the composite image. The signal-to-noise ratio of the exultant image is improved to a large extent. The algorithms are not only useful to investigate the fluorescence and transmission images, but also suitable to observing two or more fluoascent label proes in a single cell. 展开更多

This technique is based on chaotic sequence in the transform domain of cover image. We use different chaotic random sequences multiplied by multiple sensitive images, respectively, to spread the spectrum of sensitive images. Multiple sensitive images are hidden in a covert image as a form of noise. The results of theoretical analysis and computer simulation show the new hiding technique have better properties with high security, imperceptibility and capacity for hidden information in comparison with the conventional scheme such as LSB (Least Significance Bit). 展开更多

In order to preferably identify infrared image of refuge chamber, reduce image noises of refuge chamber and retain more image details, we propose the method of combining two-dimensional discrete wavelet transform and bilateral denoising. First, the wavelet transform is adopted to decompose the image of refuge chamber, of which low frequency component remains unchanged. Then, three high-frequency components are treated by bilateral filtering, and the image is reconstructed. The result shows that the combination of bilateral filtering and wavelet transform for image denoising can better retain the details which are included in the image, while providing better visual effect. This is superior to using either bilateral filtering or wavelet transform alone. It is useful for perfecting emergency refuge system of coal mines. 展开更多

Image matching based on scale invariant feature transform(SIFT) is one of the most popular image matching algorithms, which exhibits high robustness and accuracy. Grayscale images rather than color images are generally used to get SIFT descriptors in order to reduce the complexity. The regions which have a similar grayscale level but different hues tend to produce wrong matching results in this case. Therefore, the loss of color information may result in decreasing of matching ratio. An image matching algorithm based on SIFT is proposed, which adds a color offset and an exposure offset when converting color images to grayscale images in order to enhance the matching ratio. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively differentiate the regions with different colors but the similar grayscale level, and increase the matching ratio of image matching based on SIFT. Furthermore, it does not introduce much complexity than the traditional SIFT. 展开更多

Because of cloudy and rainy weather in south China, optical remote sens-ing images often can't be obtained easily. With the regional trial results in Baoying, Jiangsu province, this paper explored the fusion model and effect of ENVISAT/SAR and HJ-1A satel ite multispectral remote sensing images. Based on the ARSIS strat-egy, using the wavelet transform and the Interaction between the Band Structure Model (IBSM), the research progressed the ENVISAT satel ite SAR and the HJ-1A satel ite CCD images wavelet decomposition, and low/high frequency coefficient re-construction, and obtained the fusion images through the inverse wavelet transform. In the light of low and high-frequency images have different characteristics in differ-ent areas, different fusion rules which can enhance the integration process of self-adaptive were taken, with comparisons with the PCA transformation, IHS transfor-mation and other traditional methods by subjective and the corresponding quantita-tive evaluation. Furthermore, the research extracted the bands and NDVI values around the fusion with GPS samples, analyzed and explained the fusion effect. The results showed that the spectral distortion of wavelet fusion, IHS transform, PCA transform images was 0.101 6, 0.326 1 and 1.277 2, respectively and entropy was 14.701 5, 11.899 3 and 13.229 3, respectively, the wavelet fusion is the highest. The method of wavelet maintained good spectral capability, and visual effects while improved the spatial resolution, the information interpretation effect was much better than other two methods. 展开更多

Image enhancement technology plays a very important role to improve image quality in image processing. By enhancing some information and restraining other information selectively, it can improve image visual effect. The objective of this work is to implement the image enhancement to gray scale images using different techniques. After the fundamental methods of image enhancement processing are demonstrated, image enhancement algorithms based on space and frequency domains are systematically investigated and compared. The advantage and defect of the above-mentioned algorithms are analyzed. The algorithms of wavelet based image enhancement are also deduced and generalized. Wavelet transform modulus maxima(WTMM) is a method for detecting the fractal dimension of a signal, it is well used for image enhancement. The image techniques are compared by using the mean(μ),standard deviation(?), mean square error(MSE) and PSNR(peak signal to noise ratio). A group of experimental results demonstrate that the image enhancement algorithm based on wavelet transform is effective for image de-noising and enhancement. Wavelet transform modulus maxima method is one of the best methods for image enhancement. 展开更多

A novel fusion method of multispectral image and panchromatic image based on nonsubsampled contourlet transform(NSCT) and non-negative matrix factorization(NMF) is presented,the aim of which is to preserve both spectral and spatial information simultaneously in fused image.NMF is a matrix factorization method,which can extract the local feature by choosing suitable dimension of the feature subspace.Firstly the multispectral image was represented in intensity hue saturation(IHS) system.Then the I component and panchromatic image were decomposed by NSCT.Next we used NMF to learn the feature of both multispectral and panchromatic images' low-frequency subbands,and the selection principle of the other coefficients was absolute maximum criterion.Finally the new coefficients were reconstructed to get the fused image.Experiments are carried out and the results are compared with some other methods,which show that the new method performs better in improving the spatial resolution and preserving the feature information than the other existing relative methods. 展开更多

To meet the two conditionsset for DMIE, i. e., no abrupt changes and no over-boosting, different boosting rate should be used inadjusting pixel intensities. When the boosting rate isdetermined by using the distance from enhancedpixels to nearest edges, edge-oriented imageenhancement is obtained. By using Erosion technique,the range for pixel intensity adiustment is set.Over-enhancement is avoided by limiting the pixel iutensities in enhancement within the range. A unifled linear-time algoritiml for disance transform is adopted to deal with the calculation of Euelidean distance of the images.Its computation complexity is 0(N).After the preparation,i.e.,distance transforming and erosion,the images get more and more sharpened while no over.boosting.Occurs by repeating the enhancement procedure ,The simplicity of the enhancement operation makes DMIE suitable for enhancement rate adjusting 展开更多

Method We used an original and modified version of U-Net for image transformation. The networks were trained to generate images from the intermediate viewpoints of four cameras placed at the corners of a square. We conducted an experiment using with three different combinations of methods and training data formats. Result We determined that inputting the coordinates of the viewpoints together with the four camera images and using images from random viewpoints as the training data produces the best results. 展开更多

Based on low illumination and a large number of mixed noises contained in coal mine, denoising with one method usually cannot achieve good results, so a multi-level image denoising method based on wavelet correlation relevant inter-scale is presented. Firstly, we used directional median filter to effectively reduce impulse noise in the spatial domain, which is the main cause of noise in mine. Secondly, we used a Wiener filtration method to mainly reduce the Gaussian noise, and then finally used a multi-wavelet transform to minimize the remaining noise of low-light images in the transform domain. This multi-level image noise reduction method combines spatial and transform domain denoising to enhance benefits, and effectively reduce impulse noise and Gaussian noise in a coal mine, while retaining good detailed image characteristics of the underground for improving quality of images with mixing noise and effective low-light environment. 展开更多

The rotational parameters estimation of maneuvering target is the key of cross-range scaling of ISAR (inverse synthetic aperture radar), which can be used in the target feature extraction. The cross-range signal model of rotating target with fixed acceleration is presented and the weighted linear least squares estimation of rotational parameters with fixed velocity or acceleration is proposed via the relationship of cross-range FM (frequency modulation) parameter, scatterers coordinates and rotational parameters. The FM parameter is calculated via RWT (Radon-Wigner transform). The ISAR imaging and cross-range scaling based on scaled RWT imaging method are implemented after obtaining rotational parameters. The rotational parameters estimation and cross-range scaling are validated by the ISAR processing of experimental radar data, and the method presents good application foreground to the ISAR imaging and scaling of maneuvering target. 展开更多

Fourier transform infrared imaging(FTIRI)was used to examine the depth-dependent content variations of macromolcular components,ollagen and protooglycan(PG),in osteoarthritic and healthy cartilages.Dried 6 pmm thick sections of canine knee cartilages were imaged at 6.25 pμrm pixel-size in FTIRI.By analyzing the infrared(IR)images and spectra,the depth dependence of characteristic band(sugar)intensity of PG show obvious difference bet ween the cartilage sections of(OA)and bealth.The result confimns that PG content decreases in the ostcoarthritic cartilage.However,no clear change occurs to collagen,suggesting that the OA influences little on the collagen content at early stage of OA.This observation will be helpful to further understand PG loss associated with pathological conditions in OA,and demonstrates that FIIRI has the po-tential to become an important analytical tool to identify early clinical signs of tissue degna-dation,such as PG loss even collagen disruption. 展开更多

Two discriminant methods,partial least squares-discriminant analysis(PLS-DA)and Fisher's discriminant analysis(FDA),were combined with Fourier transform infrared imaging(FTIRI)to differentiate healthy and osteoarthritic articular cartilage in a canine model.Osteoarthritic cartilage had been developed for up to two years after the anterior cruciate ligament(ACL)transection in one knee.Cartilage specimens were sectioned into 10μm thickness for FTIRI.A PLS-DA model was developed after spectral pre-processing.All IR spectra extracted from FTIR images were calculated by PLS-DA with the discriminant accuracy of 90%.Prior to FDA,principal component analysis(PCA)was performed to decompose the IR spectral matrix into informative princi pal component matrices.Based on the different discriminant mechanism,the discriminant accuracy(96%)of PCA-FDA with high convenience was higher than that of PLS-DA.No healthy cartilage sample was mis assigned by these two methods.The above mentioned suggested that both integrated technologies of FTIRI-PLS-DA and,especially,FTIRI-PCA-FDA could become a promising tool for the discrimination of healthy and osteoarthritic cartilage specimen as well as the diagnosis of cartilage lesion at microscopic level.The results of the study would be helpful for better understanding the pathology of osteoarthritics. 展开更多

Speedometer identification has been researched for many years.The common approaches to that problem are usually based on image subtraction,which does not adapt to image offsets caused by camera vibration.To cope with the rapidity,robust and accurate requirements of this kind of work in dynamic scene,a fast speedometer identification algorithm is proposed,it utilizes phase correlation method based on regional entire template translation to estimate the offset between images.In order to effectively reduce unnecessary computation and false detection rate,an improved linear Hough transform method with two optimization strategies is presented for pointer line detection.Based on VC++ 6.0 software platform with OpenCV library,the algorithm performance under experiments has shown that it celerity and precision. 展开更多

Identifying human actions and interactions finds its use in manyareas, such as security, surveillance, assisted living, patient monitoring, rehabilitation,sports, and e-learning. This wide range of applications has attractedmany researchers to this field. Inspired by the existing recognition systems,this paper proposes a new and efficient human-object interaction recognition(HOIR) model which is based on modeling human pose and scene featureinformation. There are different aspects involved in an interaction, includingthe humans, the objects, the various body parts of the human, and the backgroundscene. Themain objectives of this research include critically examiningthe importance of all these elements in determining the interaction, estimatinghuman pose through image foresting transform (IFT), and detecting the performedinteractions based on an optimizedmulti-feature vector. The proposedmethodology has six main phases. The first phase involves preprocessing theimages. During preprocessing stages, the videos are converted into imageframes. Then their contrast is adjusted, and noise is removed. In the secondphase, the human-object pair is detected and extracted from each image frame.The third phase involves the identification of key body parts of the detectedhumans using IFT. The fourth phase relates to three different kinds of featureextraction techniques. Then these features are combined and optimized duringthe fifth phase. The optimized vector is used to classify the interactions in thelast phase. TheMSRDaily Activity 3D dataset has been used to test this modeland to prove its efficiency. The proposed system obtains an average accuracyof 91.7% on this dataset. 展开更多

A novel image fusion algorithm based on bandelet transform is proposed. Bandelet transform can take advantage of the geometrical regularity of image structure and represent sharp image transitions such as edges efficiently in image fusion. For reconstructing the fused image, the maximum rule is used to select source images' geometric flow and bandelet coefficients. Experimental results indicate that the bandelet-based fusion algorithm represents the edge and detailed information well and outperforms the wavelet-based and Laplacian pyramid-based fusion algorithms, especially when the abundant texture and edges are contained in the source images. 展开更多
