The simulations are carried out with Symanzik-improved gauge action and Asqtad fermion action on a lattice 12^3×4 at quark mass am = 0.010. At the imaginary chemical potentials aμ1 = 0.050, 0.150, 0.200, 0.225 and 0.250, we investigate the chiral condensate ψψ, plaquette variable P and imaginary part of Polyakov loop Im(L) and their susceptibilities. Analytic continuation from an imaginary chemical potential to a real one is used to obtain the expression for transition temperature as a function of the chemical potential. The performance of a palmprint identification system is improved by means of feature extraction and classification. Feature extraction methods such as Subspace learning are highly sensitive to the rotation variances, translation and illumination in image identification. Thus, Histogram of Oriented Lines (HOL) has not obtained promising performance for palmprint recognition so far. In this paper, we propose a new descriptor of palmprint named Improved Histogram of Oriented Lines (IHOL), which is an alternative of HOL. Improved HOL is not very sensitive to changes of translation and illumination, and has the robustness against small transformations whereas the small translation and rotations make no change in histogram value adjustment of the proposed work. The experiment results show that based on IHOL, with Principal Component Analysis (PCA) subspace learning can achieve high recognition rates. The proposed method (IHOL-Cosine distance) improves 1.30% on PolyU I database, and similarly (IHOL-Euclidean distance) improves 2.36% on COEP database compared with existing HOL method.展开更多

The t...For the purpose of resolving the problem of performance deterioration introduced by inaccurate phase compensation in existing coherent averaging line spectrum detectors, a modified coherent detector is proposed. The three point interpolation in frequency domain is applied to obtain accurate estimate of phase difference between segments when the segmented length is not an integral multiple of the signal period. Then the segmented data are multiplied by a complex coefficient to remove the phase difference and synchronize the phases of all the segments before coherent averaging. Theoretical analysis shows that there will be a gain of 3.9 dB at most by using the modified detector. The detection performance of the incoher- ent averaging power spectrum detector (AVGPR), the phase coherent averaging detector, the modified coherent averaging detector are compared with each other by computer simulations. The results coincide basically with the theoretical analysis, which show the superiority of the modified detector to the former two detectors.展开更多

The system processing gain of ALE, when the LMS algorithm is used, how...It is well known that the adaptive line enhancer (ALE) is effective detector of CW signal with unknown frequency in the background of white noise. The system processing gain of ALE, when the LMS algorithm is used, however, is not satisfactory because of the presence of iterative noise and weight noise. In this paper, the coherent accumulation algorithm of ALE, called as ALECA, is suggested. It is shown that the adaptive filter employing this new algorithm possesses the ARMA structure. The experimental results also show that the processing gain of ALECA is about 14dB higher than that of conventional ALE.展开更多
