A series of emergent man... The causes and the problems of integration of scientific & technical innovation (ISTI) and inevitability are proposed. The status of domestic scientific & technical innovation is analysed. A series of emergent managerial problems caused by the system ISTI (SISTI) are pointed out. Because of Hall three dimensions structure's enlightenment, a three dimensional logical net diagram in which the system integration of innovation based on problem in real world but not on disciplinary logic is drawn. The intelligent group' s need span is greater under the conditions of relatively low material level than common groups who have lower degree of education. The SISTI is composed by multi-rule and intelligent multi-agent behavior. It is concluded that the logical relationships of integrated technology which based on the author's experience and observation must be considerded for a valid management of SISTI. 展开更多

This paper analyzes the relationship between internationalization and the generation of new products and processes, using data from 2,285 Mexican manufacturing firms during the 2008-2009 period. The purpose is to understand how the insertion in international markets, either through exporting, importing, receiving foreign direct investment, or outsourcing affects the innovative outcomes of manufacturing finns. Using logistic regressions, this paper contributes to the literature analyzing the case of a single developing country and concludes that, after controlling for the size of the firm, its innovative effort, and the market concentration of the industry where the firm is situated, exporting does not promote product or process innovations but promotes the generation of innovation for the world; being an importer does not affect the innovative outcomes of the firm; Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) also promotes innovation for the world, while outsourcing inhibits the generation of both products and innovations for the world. 展开更多

Since the beginning of this century, revolutionary progress has been made in the understanding of resources and in the mining technologies of the oil and gas industry. Advances in petroleum engineering technology represented by horizontal wells and large-scale fracturing have promoted the scale development of low-grade and unconventional oil and gas resources. After the rapid growth of natural gas production in China for more than 10 consecutive years, the replacement of conventional natural gas resources has been weak and unconventional natural gas has become the major force for increasing production. Coal based SNG(synthetic natural gas) has also become a major competitor in the domestic market. The development of CTL(coal-toliquids) and SNG industries has brought coal resources into the oil and gas product market, expanding the concept of traditional oil and gas resources. The continuous improvement of petroleum engineering technology has promoted the development of deep underground coal gasification technology, which has given economic value to the huge amount of deep coal resources that are unable to be exploited by underground mining, and provides a tremendous resource guarantee for the sustainable development of the traditional oil and gas industry. A preliminary calculation shows that deep underground coal gasification has a competitive advantage in cost compared with high-cost, low-grade, unconventional gas and coal-based natural gas. Deep underground coal gasification is a typical cross-disciplinary and cross-sectoral sophisticated technology. Domestic oil and gas enterprises have dominant advantages in the engineering technology of this field. Further technical integration innovation and multi-industry joint research are needed to eventually realize the commercial application of this deep underground coal gasification technology. 展开更多

This paper presents the partial results of a project in progress that aims to improve the teaching and learning of Graphic Geometry modules taught in Engineering and Civil Engineering courses at the Federal University of Pernambuco through the development of education methodologies and content integration of these disciplines using computational technologies. This study covers and analyzes the contents of Tridimensional Graphic Geometry, Technical Drawing 3 and Descriptive Geometry in the BSc course in Civil Engineering, in order to create an integrated assessment model across these disciplines from the use of specific computer graphic softwares. It is proposed to use computer graphic for: (i) concept formation, (ii) completing and/or reviewing the content, (iii) creation of a database with virtual geometric models and their applications in Engineering and for the studies of their representations, geometric properties, etc., providing digital images of everyday forms and objects. In order to begin the diagnosis of the current situation, we gave an open questionnaire to 65 students from the 16 groups of three-dimensional graphical geometry, 20 students from the two courses in Technical Drawing 3 and 35 students from the three Descriptive Geometry classes. The analysis of the data suggests that students better understand the two-dimensional representations of three-dimensional models through their modeling with the computer graphics software used, and the association of abstract concepts with concrete content. From the analysis of the data we can verify that when our students enter the foundation Engineering courses, the main difficulty in the disciplines of drawing is the three-dimensional visualization. Purpose This study investigates university in-service English as a Foreign Language(EFL)teachers’perceptions of technology integration and the relevant factors that may affect their technology integration in the classroom.Design/Approach/Methods This multiple case study applies Teo's extended technology acceptance model(TAM)and the theory of teacher value beliefs associated with using technology to explore seven in-service EFL teachers’perceptions of effective technology integration and the challenges they encountered.Findings This study suggests that(1)perceived usefulness and(2)teacher value beliefs are two important factors that influence in-service teachers’technology integration.Additional factors are(3)subjective norm,(4)facilitating conditions of the environment,and(5)cultural values.Originality/Value This study contributes to the existing literature on in-service EFL teachers’technology integration and increases the applicability of the extended TAM in China.This study also provides insights into these teachers’perceptions and practices of technology integration.Finally,insights gleaned from this study will guide school-level,local,and national educational policy groups on optimally supporting in-service teachers’future technology integration. 展开更多
