Revisiting Port Regulatory Governance & Substance: Towards a Holistic Supply Chain Approach

The evolution and integration of ports in global logistics chains has altered their traditional role while has initiated restructuring processes in many ports worldwide. While most of the research addresses this issue by highlighting the need for re-positioning and redefining the role of the port within the supply chains, not much attention has been given to the structure, scope and reach as well as to the tools of regulation hat competent authorities could exploit in order to avert potential abusive actions of global powerful actors along the containerized transport chain, that would affect the competitive functioning of distinct segment or the integrity of supply chains. In this context, we propose the reconceptualization and reinforcement of the regulatory governance structures of ports on a national and international level as well as the extension of the scope of ports’ regulations along the supply chain to counterbalance the globalization, consolidation and integration of containerized transport actors.

Herb induced liver injury by Xianling Gubao Tablets: A case assessed for causality using updated RUCAM and integrated evidence chain

Objective:A typical case of Xianling Gubao(XLGB)Tablets-induced liver injury was systematically studied in the clinic and the laboratory.Methods:A patient with herb-induced liver injury(HILI)and a history of taking XLGB Tablets before disease onset was engaged as the study subject,and the case was diagnosed according to the updated Roussel Uclaf Causality Assessment Method(RUCAM)and the integrated evidence chain(iEC)method recommended by the Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of Herb-induced Liver Injury(HILI Guidelines).Results:Clinical history,biochemical indexes and imaging tests were used to exclude the influence of fundamental diseases and confusing liver diseases such as viral,alcoholic and autoimmune liver diseases on the diagnosis.Based on an investigation of the patient’s medication history,she was suspected to have HILI caused by XLGB Tablets,as the patient was only taking an oral preparation of XLGB Tablets,and the influence of other drugs on the diagnosis was excluded.This patient with alanine aminotransferase(ALT)3 upper limit of normal(ULN)and a calculated R of 6 was diagnosed with possible acute drug-induced hepatocellular injury.The relationship was considered“highly probable”(score of 9)using the updated RUCAM of 2016.Moreover,the fingerprint similarity between the preparation taken by the patient and a commercially available preparation was 0.99,suggesting that the patient was consuming XLGB Tablets rather than another drug.LC-MS technology and the Agilent Fake TCM-Drugs database were used to investigate the drug,and no chemical additions were found.Examination of the drug for pesticide residues,heavy metals,aflatoxins and other exogenous substances indicated compliance with the content limits of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia.Conclusion:In summary,the final diagnosis of XLGB-induced liver injury reached the clinical diagnosis of HILI and was acute severe hepatocellular injury type by the updated RUCAM and iEC.Therefore,this study provides scientific evidence regarding the causality evaluation of compound preparations of traditional Chinese medicines-induced liver injury.

Calibration chain design based on integrating sphere transfer radiometer for SI-traceable on-orbit spectral radiometric calibration and its uncertainty analysis

In order to satisfy the requirement of SI-traceable on-orbit absolute radiation calibration transfer with high accuracy for satellite remote sensors,a transfer chain consisting of a fiber coupling monochromator（FBM） and an integrating sphere transfer radiometer（ISTR） was designed in this paper.Depending on the Sun,this chain based on detectors provides precise spectral radiometric calibration and measurement to spectrometers in the reflective solar band（RSB） covering 300–2500 nm with a spectral bandwidth of 0.5–6 nm.It shortens the traditional chain based on lamp source and reduces the calibration uncertainty from 5% to 0.5% by using the cryogenic radiometer in space as a radiometric benchmark and trap detectors as secondary standard.This paper also gives a detailed uncertainty budget with reasonable distribution of each impact factor,including the weak spectral signal measurement with uncertainty of 0.28%.According to the peculiar design and comprehensive uncertainty analysis,it illustrates that the spectral radiance measurement uncertainty of the ISTR system can reach to 0.48%.The result satisfies the requirements of SI-traceable on-orbit calibration and has wider significance for expanding the application of the remote sensing data with high-quality.

Thermodynamic limit of the XXZ central spin model with an arbitrary central magnetic field

The U(1)symmetry of the X X Z central spin model with an arbitrary central magnetic field B is broken,since its total spin in the z-direction is not conserved.We obtain the exact solutions of the system by using the off-diagonal Bethe ansatz method.The thermodynamic limit is investigated based on the solutions.We find that the contribution of the inhomogeneous term in the associated T-Q relation to the ground state energy satisfies an N^(-1)scaling law,where N is the total number of spins.This result makes it possible to investigate the properties of the system in the thermodynamic limit.By assuming the structural form of the Bethe roots in the thermodynamic limit,we obtain the contribution of the direction of B to the ground state energy.It is shown that the contribution of the direction of the central magnetic field is a finite value in the thermodynamic limit.This is the phenomenon caused by the U(1)symmetry breaking of the system.

Contraction Integrated Semigroups and Their Applicationto Continuous-time Markov Chains

We introduce the notion of the contraction integrated semigroups and give the Lumber-Phillips characterization of the generator, and also the charaterazied generators of isometric integrated semigroups. For their application, a necessary and sufficient condition for q-matrices Q generating a contraction integrated semigroup is given, and a necessary and sufficient condition for a transition function to be a Feller-Reuter-Riley transition function is also given in terms of its q-matrix.

Smart Process Manufacturing for Formulated Products

We outline the smart manufacturing challenges for formulated products, which are typically multicom- ponent, structured, and multiphase. These challenges predominate in the food, pharmaceuticals, agricul- tural and specialty chemicals, energy storage and energetic materials, and consumer goods industries, and are driven by fast-changing customer demand and, in some cases, a tight regulatory framework. This paper discusses progress in smart manufacturing namely, digitalization and the use of large data- sets with predictive models and solution- nding algorithms in these industries. While some progress has been achieved, there is a strong need for more demonstration of model-based tools on realistic prob- lems in order to demonstrate their bene ts and highlight any systemic weaknesses.

Integrated biomarkers in wild crucian carp for early warning of water quality in Hun River, North China

Metabolizing enzymes play important roles in the detoxification of various pollutants in aquatic organisms, thereby they can also be used to provide early-warning signals of environmental risks. Real-time quantitative reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction assays were developed to quantify cytochrome P450 1A （CYP1A）, superoxide dismutase （SOD）, glutathione peroxidase （GPx）, catalase （CAT）, and glutathione-S-transferase （GST） in crucian carp （Carassius auratus）. The methods were then used to detect the respective mRNA expression levels in liver tissue in wild crucian carp from the Hun River, North China. CYP1A mRNA expression was significantly up-regulated in fish from stations $5, $6, and $8 （p 〈 0.05）. SOD mRNA expression was significantly down-regulated in downstream areas relative to fish from upstream sites （p 〈 0.05）; GPx and CAT mRNA expression levels were also down-regulated at $9 （p 〈 0.05）. In contrast, GST mRNA expression showed no obvious change between fish collected from up- or downstream areas of the river. Finally, an integrated biomarker response was used to evaluate the integrated impact of pollutants in the Hun River and allow better comprehension of the real toxicological risk of these investigated sites.

The Effect of Digital Transformation and Supply Chain Integration on Enterprise Performance:The Moderating Role of Entrepreneurship

Digital transformation provides companies with a productive approach to transforming and upgrading enterprise resources and capabilities and to exploiting external subject forces to unleash and magnify their potential,thus advancing high-quality enterprise development.Therefore,using regression analysis of the data of China’s non-financial listed firms from 2007‒2019 obtained by Python,this paper finds that digital transformation has enormously improved enterprise performance.Furthermore,digital transformation has powerfully boosted supply chain integration,which has played a mediation role in the impact of digital transformation on enterprise performance.Finally,entrepreneurship plays a positive moderating effect on enterprise performance through supply chain integration during digital transformation.The further heterogeneity analysis finds that digital transformation performs better in large,public,state-owned,mature,and non-manufacturing(service industry)enterprises.However,the positive effect of digital transformation on enterprise performance and supply chain integration is not significant in small and medium-sized enterprises.Therefore,supply chain integration cannot play a mediating role in the impact of digital transformation of manufacturing enterprises upon their performance.This paper probes the realization mechanism and micro-foundation of digital transformation,and its conclusion contributes to high-quality digital transformation.
