With this proposed architecture, our research focuses on the optimal deployment strategy of the nodes on the convergence level. We aim at the maximization of the sub-network's lifetime while minimizing the deployment cost. Meanwhile, a novel metric named as the Ratio of Lifetime to Cost (RLC) is proposed to estimate the efficiency of convergence nodes deployment. Simulation results indicate that the proposed deployment algorithm can achieve the optimal number of convergence nodes. The proposed deployment strategy is able to achieve a balanced tradeoff between the network lifetime and the deployment cost.展开更多

As the core technology of IoT, Cognitive Radio Sensor Networks (CRSN) technology can improve spectrum utilization efficiency and lay a sofid foundation for large-scale application of IoT. Reliable spectrum sensing is a crucial task of the CR. For energy de- tection, threshold will determine the probability of detection (Pd) and the probability of false alarm Pf at the same time. While the threshold increases, Pd and Pf will both decrease. In this paper we focus on the maximum of the difference of Pd and Pf, and try to find out how to determine the threshold with this precondition. Simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively approach the ideal optimal result.展开更多

The IoT expands the existing common concepts, anytime and anyplace to the connectivity for anything. The proliferation in IoT offers opportunities but may also bear risks. A hitherto neglected aspect is the possible increase in power consumption as smart devices in IoT applications are expected to be reachable by other devices at all times. This implies that the device is consuming electrical energy even when it is not in use for its primary function. Many researchers’ communities have started addressing storage ability like cache memory of smart devices using the concept called—Named Data Networking (NDN) to achieve better energy efficient communication model. In NDN, memory or buffer overflow is the common challenge especially when internal memory of node exceeds its limit and data with highest degree of freshness may not be accommodated and entire scenarios behaves like a traditional network. In such case, Data Caching is not performed by intermediate nodes to guarantee highest degree of freshness. On the periodical updates sent from data producers, it is exceedingly demanded that data consumers must get up to date information at cost of lease energy. Consequently, there is challenge in maintaining tradeoff between freshness energy consumption during Publisher-Subscriber interaction. In our work, we proposed the architecture to overcome cache strategy issue by Smart Caching Algorithm for improvement in memory management and data freshness. The smart caching strategy updates the data at precise interval by keeping garbage data into consideration. It is also observed from experiment that data redundancy can be easily obtained by ignoring/dropping data packets for the information which is not of interest by other participating nodes in network, ultimately leading to optimizing tradeoff between freshness and energy required.展开更多

文摘Internet of Things (IoT) has attracted extensive interest from both academia and industries, and is recognized as an ultimate infrastructure to connect everything at anytime and anywhere. The implementation of IoT generally faces the challenges from energy constraint and implementation cost. In this paper, we will introduce a new green communication paradigm, the ambient backscatter (AmBC), that could utilize the environmental wireless signals for both powering a tiny-cost device and backscattering the information symbols. Specifically, we will present the basic principles of AmBC, analyze its features and advantages, suggest its open problems, and predict its potential applications for our future IoT.

文摘The Internet of Things (loT) is called the world' s third wave of the information industry. Simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively approach the ideal optimal result.
文摘An IoT-based wireless sensor network(WSN)comprises many small sensors to collect the data and share it with the central repositories. These sensors are battery-driven and resource-restrained devices that consume most of the energy in sensing or collecting the data and transmitting it.During data sharing, security is an important concern in such networks as they are prone to many threats,of which the deadliest is the wormhole attack. These attacks are launched without acquiring the vital information of the network and they highly compromise the communication, security, and performance of the network. In the IoT-based network environment, its mitigation becomes more challenging because of the low resource availability in the sensing devices. We have performed an extensive literature study of the existing techniques against the wormhole attack and categorised them according to their methodology. The analysis of literature has motivated our research. In this paper,we developed the ESWI technique for detecting the wormhole attack while improving the performance and security. This algorithm has been designed to be simple and less complicated to avoid the overheads and the drainage of energy in its operation. The simulation results of our technique show competitive results for the detection rate and packet delivery ratio. It also gives an increased throughput,a decreased end-to-end delay, and a much-reduced consumption of energy.

文摘In recent years, the Internet of Things(IoT)has gradually developed applications such as collecting sensory data and building intelligent services, which has led to an explosion in mobile data traffic.Meanwhile, with the rapid development of artificial intelligence, semantic communication has attracted great attention as a new communication paradigm. However, for IoT devices, however, processing image information efficiently in real time is an essential task for the rapid transmission of semantic information. With the increase of model parameters in deep learning methods, the model inference time in sensor devices continues to increase. In contrast, the Pulse Coupled Neural Network(PCNN)has fewer parameters, making it more suitable for processing real-time scene tasks such as image segmentation, which lays the foundation for real-time,effective,and accurate image transmission. However, the parameters of PCNN are determined by trial and error, which limits its application. To overcome this limitation,an Improved Pulse Coupled Neural Networks(IPCNN)model is proposed in this work. The IPCNN constructs the connection between the static properties of the input image and the dynamic properties of the neurons, and all its parameters are set adaptively, which avoids the inconvenience of manual setting in traditional methods and improves the adaptability of parameters to different types of images.Experimental segmentation results demonstrate the validity and efficiency of the proposed self-adaptive parameter setting method of IPCNN on the gray images and natural images from the Matlab and Berkeley Segmentation Datasets. The IPCNN method achieves a better segmentation result without training, providing a new solution for the real-time transmission of image semantic information.

文摘With the rapid development of the sixth generation(6G)network and Internet of Things(IoT),it has become extremely challenging to efficiently detect and prevent the distributed denial of service(DDoS)attacks originating from IoT devices. In this paper we propose an innovative trust model for IoT devices to prevent potential DDoS attacks by evaluating their trustworthiness, which can be deployed in the access network of 6G IoT.Based on historical communication behaviors, this model combines spatial trust and temporal trust values to comprehensively characterize the normal behavior patterns of IoT devices, thereby effectively distinguishing attack traffic.Experimental results show that the proposed method can efficiently distinguish normal traffic from DDoS traffic.Compared with the benchmark methods, our method has advantages in terms of both accuracy and efficiency in identifying attack flows.
文摘Over the last few years, the Internet of Things (IoT) has become an omnipresent term. It is also observed from experiment that data redundancy can be easily obtained by ignoring/dropping data packets for the information which is not of interest by other participating nodes in network, ultimately leading to optimizing tradeoff between freshness and energy required.
