Internet finance has structural impact and market impact on commercial banking.Various forms of Internet finance such as third-party payment,crowdfunding,P2P lending,and internet money funds have emerged.Due to their low cost,high efficiency,and diversification characteristics,an increasing number of people are utilizing Internet finance for their businesses.This trend significantly affects traditional commercial banking operations and presents challenges.In order to gain competitive advantages through Internet finance,this paper explores how commercial banks can leverage their traditional business models.It introduces the concept,model,and characteristics of Internet finance;analyzes the importance of asset management for commercial banks;examines the influence of Internet on commercial bank’s asset management;finally proposes countermeasures for the development of Internet finance.It is advocated that commercial banks should actively explore the road of“structured finance”with all-round structural reform in the future. 展开更多

The development of Financial Technology(FinTech)in areas such as mobile Internet,cloud computing,big data,search engines,and blockchain technology have significantly changed the financial industry.FinTech is expected to overturn the traditional banking business model,forcing banks to upgrade and transform.This study adopts a comparative case study method to contrast and analyze the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China(ICBC)and Citibank.It analyzes the strategies,organizations,HR systems,and product innovations adopted by these two banks in response to the impact of FinTech.This paper proposes an“electric vehicle”mode for ICBC and an“airplane mode”for Citibank.Further,it describes the difficulties encountered by the Chinese banking industry and proposes some feasible ways to upgrade.“Technology power”will become the core competitive concept for the financial institutions of the future. 展开更多

This research investigates a broad range of possible factors affecting the adoption of new technology in the banking industry using adaptive LASSO and a standard logit model.The research integrated the adoption of the innovation framework and the technology acceptance theory to develop a conceptual framework for the analysis.Primary data was collected from 400 bank customers in North Cyprus.Risk perception and other customerspecific factors such as perceived risk index and negative attitude toward new technologies index were formulated for the proposed conceptual model.The findings indicated that individuals with a negative attitude toward new technology are least likely to adopt internet banking.In addition,the logit model suggested that age,education level,and general(innate)innovativeness significantly impact the adoption of internet banking.However,gender,income,occupation,perceived risk,familiarity with the internet,and social inclusion have no significant impact on internet banking adoption in North Cyprus. 展开更多

With the entry to WTO and development of IT, banks in China are adjusting their competitive strategies to meet the competition. Internet banking has become a kind of strategic choice to response to the entry to WTO. Based on relevantly selective reviews of literature of strategy theory and research, a model is developed to study banks' strategic response to entry to WTO. According to a survey of 192 sets of questionnaires, this study finds that external pressure, business strategy and perceived benefits of Internet banking would influence banks' perceived increase in Internet banking investment. And banks' perceived increase in Internet banking investment has no difference between big banks and small banks. 展开更多

As the opportunities offered, most individuals and businesses feel that E-banking energies are great. Thus, threats are unavoidable to banks if they fail to identify consequences and vulnerabilities accompanying e-banking practices. The usage rate of e-banking in a top international commercial bank in Malaysia is rather diminutive compare to its other bases in countries like Singapore, China and India. Interestingly, it is on decreasing mode year by year. This study aimed to offer a good set of information of the factors influencing low usage and possibilities to suggest ways to increase the usage among the bank customers. In this study, a comprehensive survey data gathering were used to collect and analyze the respondents and results indicate that ease of use is the most significant contributor to the low usage. 204 valid feedbacks were obtained from the SCM bank's customers, with the research indicating that e-banking still has a gap to fill between customers, the bank and the e-system in maximizing the desire of existing clients to go over the net. 展开更多

Through introducing internet finance’s“reducing management cost”and“raising capital cost”effects into bank risk-taking model,this paper systematically investigates the dynamic and heterogeneous influence of internet finance on commercial banks’risk-taking.Using internet finance index based on“text mining”and data of 36 commercial banks from 2003 to 2013,we makes an empirical test.The results show,firstly,the impact of internet finance on commercial banks’risk-taking is a“U”trend.The initial development of internet finance can help commercial banks reduce management cost and risk-taking,but then internet finance will raise capital cost,and turn to exacerbate banks’risk-taking.Secondly,the response of commercial banks’risk-taking is heterogeneous.Large commercial banks’response is slow,while small and medium banks’response is relatively sensitive. 展开更多

With the advent of Internet financial innovation,many commercial banks quietly have started to enter into the Ecommercial in order to prevent oligarchs from eroding financial market.From the perspective of industrial division,this paper reveals the nature of a phenomenon that E-commercial enterprises and banks have stepped into each other's field,which E-commerce of banks can give full play to network effects.Then it uses game theory to analyze the motions of banks to involve into E-commerce and the short-term competitive equilibrium of large incumbent Ecommercial enterprises as well.For individual rationality,the dominant strategy of banks and E-commercial enterprises is(enter,counterattack).Considering network externalities,it constructs a competing model on banks and incumbent E-commercial enterprises and simulates competitive trends and balanced results of their behaviors,which illustrates that banks can obtain network effect after choosing E-commerce strategy. 展开更多

近年来,随着互联网消费信贷迅速发展,其与传统消费信贷之间存在互补还是替代关系引发关注.在此大背景下,本文基于包含获客成本、申请成本与违约风险识别效率在内的信贷市场均衡模型,从理论层面阐释了互联网消费信贷与商业银行消费信贷... 近年来,随着互联网消费信贷迅速发展,其与传统消费信贷之间存在互补还是替代关系引发关注.在此大背景下,本文基于包含获客成本、申请成本与违约风险识别效率在内的信贷市场均衡模型,从理论层面阐释了互联网消费信贷与商业银行消费信贷之间存在互补性,并从中国某头部金融科技公司随机抽取2017年1月至2019年7月连续31个月50万名互联网消费信贷产品用户的海量数据进行了实证检验.结果表明:互联网消费信贷与传统商业银行消费信贷的相关性由收入效应和竞争效应共同决定,且在全样本中收入效应显著大于竞争效应,整体上呈现正向关系.进一步地,本文在引入下沉市场程度后发现,随着消费市场逐步下沉,收入效应与竞争效应此消彼长,在下沉市场表现出一定的互补性,且随着下沉程度加深,这种互补性表现得更为显著.这表明互联网消费信贷服务能够触达传统商业银行信贷无法触及到的“增量”下沉市场,促进消费升级和普惠金融发展.此外,本文还发现金融科技平台的大数据风控授信与商业银行的授信效果在下沉群体中无显著差异,并未随着消费群体下沉而发生系统性偏离.为正确认识金融科技与传统金融之间关系,进一步推进普惠金融与消费升级提供了有益启示. 展开更多
