In comparison, density is an important quantity, which is sensitive for identifying the organic-rich mud shale from non-organic-rich mud shale. Due to the poor data quality and incidence angle range, density cannot be easily inverted by directly solving the ill-posed pre-stack seismic inversion in this area. Meanwhile, the traditional density regularizations implemented by directly using the more robust P-impedance inversion tend to be inaccurate for recovering density for this shale reservoir. In this paper, we combine the P-impedance and the minus uranium to construct the pseudo-P-impedance(PIp) at well locations. The PIp is observed to be sensitive for identifying organic-rich mud shale and has a good correlation with density in this area. We employ the PIp–density relation into the pre-stack inversion framework to estimate density. Three types of regularization are tested on both numerical and field data: These are no regularization, traditional regularization and the proposed approach. It is observed that the proposed method is better for recovering the density of organic-rich mud shale in the Jiaoshiba area.展开更多

The regularization parameter selection of the penalty term directly influences the NMR T2 inversion result. We implemented both norm smoothing and curvature smoothing methods for NMR T2 inversion, and compared the inversion results with respect to the optimal regular- ization parameters ((Xopt) which were selected by the dis- crepancy principle (DP), generalized cross-validation (GCV), S-curve, L-curve, and the slope of L-curve methods, respectively. The numerical results indicate that the DP method can lead to an oscillating or oversmoothed solution which is caused by an inaccurately estimated noise level. The (Xopt selected by the L-curve method is occa- sionally small or large which causes an undersmoothed or oversmoothed T2 distribution. The inversion results from GCV, S-curve and the slope of L-curve methods show satisfying inversion results. The slope of the L-curve method with less computation is more suitable for NMR T2 inversion. The inverted T2 distribution from norm smoothing is better than that from curvature smoothing when the noise level is high.展开更多

METHODS: A retrospective chart review of 8 adult patients who were admitted with ECG T-wave inversion in the anterior chest leads with or without prolongation of corrected QT(QTc) interval. They had different clinical conditions. Each patient underwent appropriate clinical assessment including investigation for myocardial involvement. Single and multimodality noninvasive, semi-invasive and invasive diagnostic approach were used to ascertain the diagnosis. The diagnostic assessment included biochemical investigation, cardiac and abdominal ultrasound, cerebral and chest computed tomography, nuclear medicine and coronary angiography.RESULTS: Eight adult subjects(5 females) with a mean age of 66 years(range 51 to 82) are analyzed. The etiology of T-wave inversion in the precordial leads were diverse. On admission, all patients had normal blood pressure and the ECG showed sinus rhythm. Five patients showed marked prolongation of the QTc interval. The longest QTc interval(639 ms) was found in the patient with pheochromocytoma. Giant T-wave inversion(≥ 10 mm) was found in pheochromocytoma followed by electroconvulsive therapy and finally ischemic heart disease. The deepest T-wave was measured in lead V3(5 ×). In 3 patients presented with mild T-wave inversion(patients 1, 5 and 4 mm), the QTc interval was not prolonged(432, 409 and 424 msec), respectively.CONCLUSION: T-wave inversion associated with or without QTc prolongation requires meticulous history taking, physical examination and tailored diagnostic modalities to reach rapid and correct diagnosis to establish appropriate therapeutic intervention.展开更多

P-and S-wave elastic moduli determined through data inversions are key parameters for reservoir evaluation and fluid characterization. In this paper, starting with the exact Zoeppritz equation that relates P-and S-wave moduli, a coefficient that describes the reflections of P-and converted waves is established. This method effectively avoids error introduced by approximations or indirect calculations, thus improving the accuracy of the inversion results. Considering that the inversion problem is ill-posed and that the forward operator is nonlinear, prior constraints on the model parameters and modified low-frequency constraints are also introduced to the objective function to make the problem more tractable. This modified objective function is solved over many iterations to continuously optimize the background values of the velocity ratio, which increases the stability of the inversion process. Tests of various models show that the method effectively improves the accuracy and stability of extracting P and S-wave moduli from underdetermined data. This method can be applied to provide inferences for reservoir exploration and fluid extraction.展开更多

It is developed by us that the joint inversion methods using both Love and Rayleigh wave dispersion data. Thickness and S\|wave velocity of each sub layer are taken from Love wave dispersion data, then P\|wave velocity structure was deduced using Rayleigh wave dispersion data. Densities of sub layers were estimated by the empirical relationships between seismic velocity and rock density. Having S\| and P\|wave velocities, v p/ v s ratio is calculated for each sub layer. Six sub layers in crust of Tibetan Plateau has been identified, which are 0~8km, 8~30km, 30~40km, 40~62km, 62~68km and 68~75km respectively. The S\|wave velocity structure of the Plateau is 3 13, 3 32, 3 15, 3 92, 3 45 and 3 87 km/s for each sub layer; and P\|wave velocities are 6 00, 6 10, 5 72, 6 35, 6 78 and 6 64km/s respectively v p/ v s ratios in sub layers are 1 92, 1 84, 1 82, 1 62, 1 96 and 1 72; and corresponding Poisson ratios are 0 31, 0 29, 0 28, 0 19, 0 32 and 0 24. One is the layered site seismic response method, whose layer transform matrix is always real. The other is a global-local optimization technique, which uses genetic algorithm (GA)-simplex method. An inversion of multi-component waveforms of P, SV and SH wave is carried out simultaneously. By inverting the records of three moderate and small earthquakes obtained from the Xiangtang borehole array (2^#) site, the soil dynamic characteristic parameters, including P velocity, damping ratio and frequency-dependent coefficient b, which has not been given in previous literatures, are calculated. The results show that the soil S wave velocity of the Xiangtang 2^# borehole is generally greater than that obtained from the 1994 in-situ test, and is close to the velocity of the 3^# borehole, which is more than 200 m away from the 2^# borehole. Meanwhile, perceptible soil nonlinear behavior under peak ground motion of about 60×10^-2 m/s^2 is detected by the inversion analysis. The presented method can be used for studying the soil response of other borehole array sites.展开更多
