Investigation of anaplasmosis in Yiyuan County,Shandong Province,China

Objective:To investigate the situation of anaplasmosis in Yiyuan county.Shandong Province. Methods:A total of 26 blood samples from febrile patients suspected of anaplasmosis,48 blood samples from healthy farmers,8 from dogs,and 10 from goats and 170 ticks were collected in the same area during 2005-2007,and detected by serological and molecular methods.Results: Eight confirmed cases and 6 probable cases were determined using serologic and molecular methods.The seroprevalence of Anaplasma phagocytophilum(A.phagocytophilum) was 26.7% in healthy cases.Nine out of 10 sheep samples and 7 out of 8 dog samples reacted positively to the A.phagocytophilum antigen.PCR amplification and sequencing of the 16SrRNA of,4. phagocytophilum gene showed that some samples from patients,goats and ticks were 100% identical.The seroprevalence of Rickettsia typhi was 22.9%,Orientia tsutsugamushi 6.3%, Rickettsia sibirica 27.1%,Coxiella burnetii 18.8%,Bartonella henselae 31.3%,and Borrelia burgdorferi 41.6%.Conclusions:It is important to make differential diagnosis of febrile patients and to apply treatment with specific antibiotics.It is needed to enforce essential prevention and control measures including tick control and to improve sanitation conditions.

Serological investigation of vector-borne disease in dogs from rural areas of China

Objective:To evaluate the Anaplasma phagocytophilum(A.phagocytophilum),Ehrlichia canis(E.canis,Dirofilaria immitis(D.immitis)(canine heartworm),Borrelia burgdorferi(B.burgdorferi)infections in countryside dogs from Yunnan,Hainan and Anhui provinces.Methods:Serum samples were collected from 26 dogs in Yunnan.Hainan and Anhui provinces.The samples were tested using a commercial ELISA rapid diagnostic assay kit(SNAP^(?)4Dx^(?);IDEXX Laboratories,Inc.U.S.A.).Meaiiwliile,indirect immunofluorescence assay(IFA)recommended by WHO was conducted to delect IgG to A.phagocytophilum.Two methods were analyzed and compared.Results:The number of serologically positive dogs for IgG to A.phagocytophilum was only 2which was from Hainan province and none of the 26 dogs responded positive for E.canu.D.immitis(canine heartworm,and B.burgdorferi by ELISA rapid diagnostic method.The number of serologically positive dogs for IgG to A.phagocytophilum was 13(50%)by IFA method.Data of the two methods were analyzed by statistical software and the difference was statistically significant(P=0.002).Conclusions:It can be concluded that IFA method was more sensitive than ELISA rapid diagnostic method.However,we need conduct further and intensive epidemiology survey on tick-born diseases pathogens including.4.phagocytophilum,E.canis,D.immitis(canine heartworm),and B.burgdorferi which have public health significance.

Countermeasures and Investigation of Land Circulation in Less Developed Agricultural Area of Henan Province,China

Some places in Henan Province are investigated by using sample surveys and interviews. Result shows that land circulation in less developed agricultural area of Henan Province has the characteristics of small scale,single form,short period,and circulation land in economic core region. Problems in land circulation are as follows:slow transfer of rural surplus labor force,hard implementation of fundamental land circulation,complicated mentality towards rural land circulation,many misgivings about land circulation,the unformed social service system of land circulation,and imperfect agricultural risk prevention mechanism for circulated land use. Based on the characteristics of land circulation,suggestions for promoting the land circulation of less developed agricultural areas are put forward in order to solve the problems in land circulation and to lay the foundation for effective implementation of land circulation,such as speeding up the development of urbanization,developing the circulation of collective land,effectively implementing the laws and regulations of rural collective land circulation,transferring land according to law,establishing market mechanism of agricultural land circulation,promoting the agricultural industrialization,establishing market mechanism of agricultural land circulation,promoting the agricultural industrialization,energetically readjusting rural industrial structure,and developing economy with local characteristics.

Recommendations for Solving Difficulties in Investigation of Environmental Pollution Cases in China

Environmental pollution has caused wide social concern,and it demands immediate attention to striking at the crime in the environmental pollution. At present,there are difficulties of putting a case on file,collecting evidence,judicial identification,and presumption of causal relationship in investigation of environmental pollution cases. In accordance with current situations,it came up following recommendations:(i) widely collecting case clues to solve the difficulty of putting a case on file;(ii) improving the ability of collecting evidence and standardizing the evidence collection,to solve the difficulty of evidence collection.(iii) including the environmental pollution judicial identification system,and unifying the identification standards,to solve the difficulty in identification. It is recommended to use the epidemiological causal relationship theory combined with enough high-quality evidences to solve the difficulty in presumption of causal relationship.

In this paper, through the determination of formaldehyde in some houses of Binzhou, the release of formaldehyde with the increase of time was explored; change of formaldehyde in the same residence in different functional areas was analyzed; the influence of the temperature, humidity and plant to formaldehyde content was also analyzed.

Application of Lightning Monitoring and Positioning Data in Investigation and Identification of Lightning Disaster in Inner Mongolia

The lightning current magnitude and other characteristics are important basic data of the lightning disaster investigation and identification. The characteristics of lightning monitoring and positioning system in Inner Mongolia were introduced and studied in the lightning accident analysis based on the lightning monitoring and positioning data of the lightning stroke accidents. The positioning error of lightning monitoring and positioning system was analyzed. The results showed that lightning current intensity and the position precision were very important data in the lightning disaster investigation. Finally, a variety of meteorological data should be applied in the lightning disaster investigation and identification.

Investigation on Water Pollution of Four Rivers in Coastal Wetland of Yellow River Estuary

[Objective] The study aimed at analysing water pollution of four rivers in coastal wetland of Yellow River estuary. [Method] Taking four seriously polluted rivers (Guangli River, Shenxian Ditch, Tiao River and Chao River) in coastal wetland of Yellow River estuary as study objects, water samples were collected from the four rivers in May (dry period), August (wet period) and November (normal period) in 2009 and 2010 respectively, then pollution indices like nutritive salts, COD, chlorophyll-a, petroleum, etc. were measured. Afterwards, the status quo of water pollution was assessed based on Nemero index and comprehensive trophic level index (TLI), so as to find out the integral status quo of water quality of wetland rivers and damages to aquatic ecological environment. [Result] On the whole, water pollution of four rivers in coastal wetland of Yellow River estuary was serious, in the eutrophication state, and the main pollutants were TN, TP, NH+4-N and petroleum. In addition, excessive N and P in the four rivers resulted in water eutrophication of Bohai Bay, so further leading to ride tide, which destroyed the coastal ecological environment of Bohai Sea. Moreover, compared with historical data, water pollution by nitrogen and phosphorus became more serious, while there was no obvious aggravation in the water pollution by petroleum. In a word, water pollution wasn’t optimistic on the whole. [Conclusion] The research could provide theoretical bases for the protection and utilization of river water in coastal wetland of Yellow River estuary and its coastal sea area.
