A Survey into Teachers＇ Roles in Web-based College English Autonomous Learning

The paper, with the backdrop of web-based autonomous learning put forward by the recent college English teaching reform, aims to explore teachers＇ roles in this learning process in students＇ perception through the means of questionnaires and interviews. It further analyzes the possible reasons why students perceive their teachers＇ roles in such a way, in the hope of providing some implications for web-based college English autonomous learning.

Among the sundry studies in China on John Donne's The Flea,there has been none done from the perspective of Reader-Oriented Theory to probe into the readers' roles in the construction of meaning.The present article under Wolfgang Iser's theories,in a further pursuit of the expansion of the gestalt of such studies on the poem,aims at exploring the readers' active roles in complementing,completing and recreating the textual meaning,and differentiating the implied reader and the actual reader through the poem as well as attempting to fulfill the construction of the reading cognitive model through the interpretation of the conceit the flea.

Feminism in Rebecca:Subversion of Women’s Roles in the Patriarchal Society

Daphne Du Maurier(1907-1989)was an English writer and playwright.Her notable works are described as"moody and resonant with overtones of the paranormal".Rebecca,her representative work,tells a story about the young narrator’s life as Mr.de Winter’s second wife in Manderley,and how Rebecca,the late hostess of this mansion,keeps haunting the narrator’s mind.Traditional interpretation of this work is that it describes the process of the kind,innocent narrator and Mr.de Winter’s fight with Rebecca,a symbol of immorality.However,if this story is interpreted from the perspective of feminism,both Rebecca and the narrator subvert male’s dominance to some extent in the patriarchal society.This essay focuses on Rebecca’s rebellious attitude towards male dominance and the awakening of the narrator’s independent personality.

Teacher's Role in the Oral English Class

English speaking has been paid more attention today, especially in the age of globalization. Teachers are attempting to find out more effective methods to enhance the teaching results of English speaking. Facing the great demands and present difficulties of oral English classes, teachers have to conduct more study and practice to find out what roles that an oral English teacher has to take in the oral English classroom. Compared with the traditional teaching role in the English classroom, an oral English teacher has to fulfill more than one role in the classroom teaching so as to provide better learning conditions for students. Lacking more exposure to the real interaction with native speakers, students expect the oral English teacher to be a creator of the language environment. With various teaching and learning activities in the oral English classroom, the teacher has to be a good organizer to ensure every student to achieve improvement. An oral English teacher also has to correct students'language errors while ensuring the smooth progress of the classroom teaching. Only when an oral English teacher make clear what roles he or she has to take in the classroom can he or she achieve effective teaching.

A study of the relationship between professional values and ethical climate and nurses'professional quality of life in Iran

Objective:To explore the relationship between nursing professional values and ethical climate and nurses'professional quality of life.Methods:The present study is a descriptive,cross-sectional work in which 400 nurses from various wards of hospitals in the south-east of Iran were studied.Data were collected using a questionnaire consisting of four sections:demographics,Nurses'Professional Values Scale-Revised(NPVS-R),the Hospital Ethical Climate Survey(HECS),and the Professional Quality of Life Scale(ProQOL).Results:The total mean scores for professional values were 105.29±15.60.The total mean score for the ethical climate was 100.09±17.11.The mean scores for the indexes of compassion satisfaction,burnout,and secondary traumatic stress were 45.29±8.93,34.38±6.84,and 32.15±7.02 respectively.The relationships between professional values and the indexes of compassion satisfaction(r=0.56),burnout(r=0.26),and secondary traumatic stress(r=0.18)were found to be positive and significant(P<0.001).Also,the relationships between ethical climate and the items of compassion satisfaction(r=0.60,P<0.001),burnout(r=0.15,P=0.002)were found to be positive and significant.Conclusion:An understanding of nurses'perception of professional values and improving the ethical climate at work can help nursing administrators identify more effective strategies toward increasing compassion satisfaction and lessening bumout and work-related stress.

Least Privileges and Role’s Inheritance of RBAC

The main advantages of role-based access control （RBAC） are able to support the well-known security principles and roles＇inheritance. But for there remains a lack of specific definition and the necessary formalization for RBAC, it is hard to realize RBAC in practical work. Our contribution here is to formalize the main relations of RBAC and take first step to propose concepts of action closure and deta closure of a role, based on which we got the specification and algorithm for the least privileges of a role. We propose that roles＇ inheritance should consist of inheritance of actions and inheritance of data, and then we got the inheritance of privileges among roles, which can also be supported by existing exploit tools.

Role of P,S and B on Creep Behavior of Alloy 718

The doping of phosphorus, sulfur and boron in IN718 superalloy can remarkably influence the creep behavior. The modifications of the minor elements seem not to vary the stress exponent and the influences primarily concentrate on the effective diffusion coefficient. A pronounced beneficial interaction between P and B and a weaker detrimental interaction between P and S have been obtained. The preexponential frequency constant is proved to be strongly related with the creep activation energy because of the so-called compensation effect. The compensation temperature has been determined to be about 1080 K, which corresponds to the transformation temperature from rapidly coarsened γ'' phase to δ phase. It has been proposed that trace elements can influence the effective diffusion coefficient individually or cooperatively, which in turn either retard or speed the creep process.

Priority of Factors Affected on Customer＇s Satisfaction in the E-Banking by Using Kano Model and Analytical Hierarchy Process： A Case of Iranian Commercial Bank

The aim of the article is to determine the extent to which customer satisfaction＇s in the e-banking in Semnan area had organizational and customer readiness for developing their services. One of the most important sectors that plays key role for grasping developed condition is banking sector. Banks like other institutions also look for augmenting their profits and increasing their strength by expansion. The designing of bank must involve selection of those that have sufficient success potential. Hence, from several factors of success, the following three criteria factors have been： selected-customer satisfied, one dimensional, and product fully functional. These factors offers three question multi criteria group extracted from a 16 norms. Also, three criteria factors have been studied over a period of five years and important criteria for evaluating the norms. The Analytical Hierarchy Process （AHP） has been employed to calculate the success potential of each norm. The empirical data comprises the longitudinal survey of the agricultural banking of the Semnan province. The paper, also, finds that product fully functional is placed as the first priority.

Autosomal recessive mutations in the PARK7 gene,which encodes for the protein DJ-1,result in a loss of function and are a cause of familial Parkinson’s disease（PD）,while increased wild-type DJ-1protein levels are associated with some forms of cancer.Several functions of DJ-1 have been described,with the greatest evidence indicating that DJ-1 is a redox-sensitive protein involved in the regulation of oxidative stress and cell survival.

Teachers＇ role in vocabulary teaching： Strategies for vocabulary teaching

Much research has been done on how to help students to improve their language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, but how to help students with the acquisition of vocabulary which is essential to the development of language skills has been neglected. Word knowledge is discussed, selection of words to be taught, techniques for presentation and strategies for self-learning.

First report on natural Leishmania infection of Phlebotomus sergenti due Leishmania tropica by high resolution melting curve method in Southeastern Iran

Objective:To identify the Leishmania species in infected sand flies by Real-time PCR coupled with HRM analysis.Methods:Real-time PCR coupled with HRM analysis targeting the first internal transcribed spacer(ITS1)of nuclear ribosomal DNA as the genetic marker was used to identify and distinguish Lelthmania species in sand flies specimens.Results:Three out of 115females of Phlebotomus sergenti(P.sergenti)(2.6%)were positive to Leishmania tropica(L.tropica).Conclusions:This is the first report on P.sergenti as the main and proven vector of anthroponitic cutaneous leishmaniasis in Dehbakri County using Real-time PCR coupled with HUM analysis.This method is rapid,sensitive and specific for diagnosing of parasites in infected Sand flies and ideal for large scale genotyping projects.

Petrology of Igneous Rocks in Northern Golpayegan,Iran

A preliminary study on petrological features of igneous rocks was carried out in northern Golpayegan, Iran, in an area of about 60 km 2. According to the limited available data the sequence of the magma activity could be considered as follows: (1) Precambrian (?) granite connected with a continental continental collision event, (2) Precambrian (?) syenite emplaced at a post continental continental collision environment, (3) Cretaceous volcanic rocks generated by a local extensional system at an active continental margin and (4) Cenozoic doleritic veins generated in a post collision event. Geochemical characteristics of the granitic intrusion show that it originated from crust and belongs to S type one. Syenitic body consists of syenitic affinities ranging from alkali syenite to syenodiorite. These rocks were cut by Cenozoic doleritic veins, which consist of dolerite and olivine dolerite. Both syenite and dolerite are thought to originate from upper mantle but their ages are different. Cretaceous volcanic rocks include basalt, andesite, trachyandesite, trachyte and tuff. They are compositionally alkaline and erupted in a shallow graben basin. Their eruption has been in connection with deep seated faults, which brought out the magma from the source.

The Changing Role of Chinese Women in History--From the Dream of Red Mansions to the Moment in Peking

In the history of feudal society,women were suffering from the oppression and inequality in their family and status,and also strict restriction from the society.Their freedom was limited and they could not make full use of their wisdom,and abili ty.But the role of women did not stay the same during the feudal society.It had changed though the fundamental role remained the same.Here in this essay,it mainly talked about the changing role of Chinese in history,from the beginning of the Qing Dy nasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty.It collected information,and evidences from two books which were of great value to inves tigate women's role.They were Cao Xueqin's the Dream of Red Mansions and Lin Yutang's Moment in Peking.A great por tion of these two book's main characters were women,no matter what their social statuses were,no matter what roles they were playing in the big feudal family.Based on the result of analysis,the study suggests that women have been making progress all the time in changing their situation.And the development of economy has given women immense chances to achieve their self-actu alization.

Discussion on Teacher's Role under Life Threatening Circumstances

This paper first reviewed a controversial case in which a teacher ran away from his students in a earthquake. Several educational ethnic questions were aroused from the case: Is protecting students part of teacher's job? To what extent should it be applied? etc. Then the author aims to answer these questions based on a real case study from philosophical perspective, that is, analyzing teacher's role(i) as a human being;(ii) as a educator;(iii) as a educatee. Finally the paper concludes that teachers should protect their students even under life threatening circumstances.

Fauna and some biological characteristics of Anopheles mosquitoes(Diptera:Culicidae) in Kalaleh County,Golestan Province,northeast of Iran

Objective:To determine fauna and some ecological aspects of Anopheles mosquitoes in northeast of Iran.Methods:In this descriptive study,3 villages in Kalaleh County were selected in different geographical zones.Anopheles mosquitoes were collected biweekly from May to October using standard dipping method for larvae,and hand catch,total catch,artificial pit shelter as well as night-biting collections on human and animal baits for adults.Results:Totally 399 larvae and 2 602 adults of Anopheles mosquitoes were collected and identified as 2 species:Anopheles superpictus s.l.(An.superpictus s.l.) and Anopheles maculipennis s.l.The dominant species was An.superpictus s.l.(92.1%).Activity of these mosquitoes found to be started from middle of May and extended till September with two peaks of activity in July and August.Conclusions:An.superpictus s.l.as one of the main malaria vectors in Iran as well as some other parts of the world is the dominant species in the study area.This species has high potential for transmission and possibility of establishing a transmission cycle with low abundance.Other species,Anopheles maculipennis s.l.also has introduced as a malaria vector in northern parts of Iran.As this Anopheles is a complex species,genetic studies are recommended to determine the members of this complex in the study area.

Considering and comparing regeneration in natural and man-made stands in northern Iran

In this study the regeneration diversity of Syahkal forests afforestated and natural stands in north of Iran was studied and compared from the point of view of evenness and diversity index. In order to accomplish this study two natural and man-made stands that almost are located in the same height above the sea level were chosen. The area of each stand was 30 ha and the inventory was done by the random-systematic method with a 5R land measurement （500 m2） selected. Also, in order to study the regeneration in the center of each sample piece 125 square meters micro plots were formed. The results show that regeneration diversity index in natural stands is more than that in man-made stands which in this case Mc-Arthur index with 2.41 has the most amount while Simpson index with 0.543 has the least amount. But the evenness indexes in man-made stands are more than that in natural stand which the main reason is the purity of the man-made stand.
