On Interpretation Teaching Strategies from the Perspective of Skopos Theory

In order to strengthen communications and cooperation with various fields of other countries, the demand for translators and interpreters has increased dramatically. At the same time, the quantity and quality of translators will be faced with more and more requirements of the employment market. Therefore, as a compulsory and main course for English majors in many colleges and universities, interpretation teaching has been challenged for a long time. How to train a great number of qualified interpreters rapidly and effectively has become an urgent issue. Based on reviewing the theory of Skopos theory and analyzing the status quo of interpretation teaching for undergraduate English majors, some new thoughts for interpretation teaching are proposed.

Covid-19 epidemic swept the world in 2020 and still exists.Due to the uneven level of Chinese and English interpreting related to the Covid-19 epidemic,this essay explains the characteristics of interpretation and interpreting teaching,and the importance of building a corpus of thematic interpretation of the Covid-19 epidemic,focusing on the construction and application of the Covid-19 epidemic corpus in interpreting teaching and the importance and construction methods of thematic corpus used to cultivate the comprehensive interpreting ability and level of English majors(especially in translation and interpretation).

Integrative Interpretation of Textual Coherence and Teaching of College English Intensive Reading

The text-based and reader-based are two contrasting groups of approaches existed in the field of textual coherence study.On the basis of the integration of the two kinds of approaches,an integrative interpretation of the nature of coherence is proposed,that is,coherence is both a text-related and reader-related phenomenon.In order to construct coherent interpretation of text meaning more efficiently,readers should not only be able to identify and use text-immanent coherence cues,but also be capable of drawing coherence-related information by perceiving the contextual features and by engaging actively in activating their background knowledge and in using their cognitive skills.Coherence construction based on the integrative interpretation is the key to success in reading comprehension,so it can generate important pedagogical implications in the college English intensive reading classroom.

Effect of Sight Translation on Consecutive Interpreting and Teaching Strategies

Sight Translation(ST) has long been considered as a useful exercise for acquiring interpreting skills. However, little studies have been done to prove how the skills acquired from ST can be transferred to other modes of interpreting, for instance,Consecutive Interpreting(CI). In this study, the sequencing of ST and CI teaching is explored to proof that starting ST teaching first is more logical. Gile's effort model is used to explain the similarities and differences of ST and CI and to set up possible effect of ST on CI. Some teaching strategies of transferring ST skills to CI are proposed.

A Review of Interpreting Teaching Studies in China(2008-2017)

With the rapid development of interpretation training,studies on interpreting teaching are becoming more and more signif-icant both theoretically and practically.This paper reviews 106 papers on interpreting teaching from 2008 to 2017 from the per-spectives of publication time,source,research method and theme.Through bibliometric analysis,this paper draws the followingconclusions:(1)Domestic research on interpreting teaching has developed steadily in the past decade.(2)The majority studies fo-cus on teaching methods and strategies,general description of interpreting teaching,teaching model and teaching materials.(3)Current research has made some achievements,but room is still left for more comprehensive research topics,more scientific re-search methods,more specific research content,and more complete research objects.Based on the status quo of interpreting teach-ing studies,this paper proposes some implications for future studies.

本文扼要介绍和评述姚斌教授的著作《案例教学法在MTI口译教学中的应用:理论、实践与反思》,指出其具有开拓性、实用性、学术性、职业性等主要特色,可谓系统阐述翻译专业案例教学的开山之作、口译教师的案例教学指南。同时,针对案例教学法在翻译专业教学中的推广,本文也提出了一些建议,包括建立和完善激励机制、加强专题师资培训、出台案例教学指导性文件、建立共建共享机制、积极将新兴技术与翻译案例教学相融合等。

国际体育赛事对口译教学的启示——基于2022年北京冬奥会口译需求

通过分析国内高校口译教学的现状,探讨2022年北京冬奥会的口译需求对口译教学的启示。从课程安排、教学方法和教学内容三方面研究高校口译教学,发现存在课时数少、缺乏口译实训、缺少中国文化输入等问题。高校志愿者是国际体育赛事志愿者的重要来源,为使高校人才更好地服务于国际赛事,基于2022年北京冬奥会的口译需求,提出尽早安排口译课程、模拟口译现场、参加口译实训、增强跨学科教学、积累中国特色词汇等改善口译教学的方案,尝试为口译教学提供新思路。

新文科视域下口译教学自动测评系统建构的可解释研究

随着全球化进程的不断推进,口译教学在新文科视域下扮演着越来越重要的角色。为了提高口译教学的效率和质量,自动测评系统被引入口译教学之中。然而,目前大多数口译教学自动测评系统在其工作原理和结果的解释方面出现了诸如模型的黑盒化、评估结果的不透明及评分标准的不明确等问题。该研究以新文科翻译学视角,通过对口译任务的要素进行分析,设计了一种可解释的口译教学自动测评系统,并基于人工智能的可解释理论分析,提出了相应的可持续性优化路径,以提高系统的透明度、可信度和准确度。
