To study the effects of lanthanide ions on the geometrically frustrated antiferromagnets and their magnetic properties,we grew high-quality single crystals of LnCu_(3)(OH)_(6)Br_(3)(Ln=Nd,Sm,and Eu)by hydrothermal method and studied their crystal structures and magnetic properties.The refinements of the crystal structure referred to the powder x-ray diffraction data show that LnCu_(3)(OH)_(6)Br_(3)adopt a Kapellasite-type layer structure,which is isostructural to their chlorine analogue.Magnetic susceptibilities demonstrate that LnCu_(3)(OH)_(6)Br_(3)have strong antiferromagnetic coupling and a pronounced magnetic frustration effect.Magnetization measurements indicate canted antiferromagnetic ordering of Cu^(2+)ions around 16 K within the kagoméplane and weak ferromagnetic coupling.Moreover,shoulder-like anomalies in specific heat around 16 K could be a signature of emergent of magnetic ordering.The low-temperature negative magnetization and specific heat of LnCu_(3)(OH)_(6)Br_(3)(Ln=Nd,Sm,and Eu)indicate that Ln^(3+)ions induce more exotic magnetic ground state properties. 展开更多

Kagome点阵结构参数对其压缩特性的影响及轻质化设计

为研究三杆支撑(Kagome)结构的压缩性能并对其进行轻质化设计,通过改变胞元的结构参数,建立了12种不同胞元相对密度的Kagome多层点阵结构模型,利用压缩试验和模拟仿真对其进行准静态压缩力学性能分析。研究发现在胞元高度一定时,支撑杆... 为研究三杆支撑(Kagome)结构的压缩性能并对其进行轻质化设计,通过改变胞元的结构参数,建立了12种不同胞元相对密度的Kagome多层点阵结构模型,利用压缩试验和模拟仿真对其进行准静态压缩力学性能分析。研究发现在胞元高度一定时,支撑杆倾角和截面直径的增大均会提高Kagome多层点阵结构的抗压缩性能,且倾角大小对结构整体最大等效平压强度的影响要大于杆直径的影响。胞元相对密度从16.6%提高到60.7%,整体等效平压模量提高了5.54倍,最大等效平压强度提高了4.52倍,模拟仿真结果和试验结果具有一致性。此外,对Kagome加固点阵结构进行轻质化设计,整体质量直接减少了16.3%,压缩仿真结果表明,轻质化设计小幅提升了点阵结构在压缩坍塌失效之前的整体等效平压模量、最大等效平压强度、相对比强度、比刚度和等参数。 展开更多

层状Kagome金属由于包含平带和线性交叉的狄拉克(Dirac)带等奇异电子性质,正逐渐成为探索阻挫晶格和量子拓扑的新兴电子材料.该文采用第一性原理方法研究了应变和Hubbard相互作用U对CoSn和CoGe两种层状Kagome金属拓扑电子性质的调控.研... 层状Kagome金属由于包含平带和线性交叉的狄拉克(Dirac)带等奇异电子性质,正逐渐成为探索阻挫晶格和量子拓扑的新兴电子材料.该文采用第一性原理方法研究了应变和Hubbard相互作用U对CoSn和CoGe两种层状Kagome金属拓扑电子性质的调控.研究结果表明,对两种Kagome金属施加a和b单轴应变时,能够较大地减少六边形Co原子d轨道的局域化程度,导致Kagome金属中平带宽度发生较大的改变,并且单轴应变破坏了晶体的C6对称性,从而使得Dirac点发生劈裂,且劈裂程度随应变的增加而增加.而c轴应变对Co原子d轨道的局域化程度影响较小,因而平带宽度变化较小.当施加ab双轴应变时,平带宽度变化没有单轴应变明显,表明对称性对保持Kagome晶格中六边形金属原子的d轨道消相干效发挥了重要作用.并且由于双轴应变没有破缺晶体对称性,Dirac点在拉伸应变下只发生移动,而在压缩应变下由于自旋劈裂导致四重简并Dirac点劈裂为两个二重简并的外尔(Weyl)点,形成平带-Weyl带的新型能带结构.研究还表明,较大的库仑相互作用(Hubbard-U)对Kagome电子结构同样存在重要影响.当U> 1.60 eV时,不仅能带发生了自旋劈裂,而且平带宽度和Dirac点位置发生了明显的改变,Hubbard-U对Kagome晶格中局域化的Co原子d轨道产生了重要的影响.这些发现为进一步深入探讨Kagome金属的拓扑电子性质和关联效应提供了研究思路,也为其在能源、催化等领域中的实际应用提供了理论参考. 展开更多

We systematically study the electronic structure of a kagome superconductor CsV_(3)Sb_(5)at different temperatures coveringboth its charge density wave state and normal state with angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy.We observe thatthe V-shaped band aroundГshows three different behaviors,referred to as a/a',βandγ,mainly at different temperatures.Detailed investigations confirm that these bands are all from the same bulk Sb-p_(z)origin,but they are quite sensitiveto the sample surface conditions mainly modulated by temperature.Thus,the intriguing temperature dependent electronicbehavior of the band nearГis affected by the sample surface condition,rather than intrinsic electronic behavior originatingfrom the phase transition.Our result systematically reveals the confusing electronic structure behavior of the energy bandsaroundГ,facilitating further exploration of the novel properties in this material. 展开更多

The hysteresis of magnetoresistance observed in superconductors is of great interest due to its potential connectionwith unconventional superconductivity.In this study,we perform electrical transport measurements on kagome superconductorCsV_(3)Sb_(5)nanoflakes and uncover unusual hysteretic behavior of magnetoresistance in the superconducting state.This hysteresis can be induced by applying either a large DC or AC current at temperatures(T)well below the superconductingtransition temperature(T_(c)).As T approaches T_(c),similar weak hysteresis is also detected by applying a smallcurrent.Various scenarios are discussed,with particular focus on the effects of vortex pinning and the presence of timereversal-symmtery-breaking superconducting domains.Our findings support the latter,hinting at chiral superconductivityin kagome superconductors. 展开更多

Kagome materials are a class of material with a lattice structure composed of corner-sharing triangles that produce various exotic electronic phenomena,such as Dirac fermions,van Hove singularities,and flat bands.However,most of the known kagome materials have a flat band detached from the Fermi energy,which limits the investigation of the emergent flat band physics.In this work,by combining soft x-ray angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy(ARPES)and the first-principles calculations,the electronic structure is investigated of a novel kagome metal CeNi_(5) with a clear dispersion along the kz direction and a Fermi level flat band in theΓ–K–M–Γplane.Besides,resonant ARPES experimental results indicate that the valence state of Ce ions is close to 4^(+),which is consistent with the transport measurement result.Our results demonstrate the unique electronic properties of CeNi_(5) as a new kagome metal and provide an ideal platform for exploring the flat band physics and the interactions between different types of flat bands by tuning the valence state of Ce ions. 展开更多

The kagome lattice system has been identified as a fertile ground for the emergence of a number of new quantumstates,including superconductivity,quantum spin liquids,and topological electronic states.This has attracted significantinterest within the field of condensed matter physics.Here,we present the observation of an anomalous Hall effect in aniron-based kagome antiferromagnet LuFe_(6)Sn_(6),which implies a non-zero Berry curvature in this compound.By means ofextensive magnetic measurements,a high Neel temperature,T_(N)=552 K,and a spin reorientation behavior were identifiedand a simple temperature-field phase diagram was constructed.Furthermore,this compound was found to exhibit a largeSommerfeld coefficient ofγ=87 mJ·mol^(-1)·K^(-2),suggesting the presence of a strong electronic correlation effect.Ourresearch indicates that LuFe_(6)Sn_(6)is an intriguing compound that may exhibit magnetism,strong correlation,and topologicalstates. 展开更多

Kagome magnets were predicted to be a good platform to investigate correlated topology band structure,Chern quantum phase,and geometrical frustration due to their unique lattice geometry.Here we reported single crystal growth of 166-type kagome magnetic materials,including HfMn_(6)Sn_(6),ZrMn_(6)Sn_(6),GdMn_(6)Sn_(6)and GdV_(6)Sn_(6),by using the flux method with Sn as the flux.Among them,HfMn_(6)Sn_(6)and ZrMn_(6)Sn_(6)single crystals were grown for the first time.X-ray diffraction measurements reveal that all four samples crystallize in HfFe6Ge6-type hexagonal structure with space group P6/mmm.All samples show metallic behavior from temperature dependence of resistivity measurements,and the dominant carrier is hole,except for GdV6Sn6 which is electron dominated.All samples have magnetic order with different transition temperatures,HfMn_(6)Sn_(6),ZrMn_(6)Sn_(6)and GdV_(6)Sn_(6)are antiferromagnetic with TN of 541 K,466 K and 4 K respectively,while GdMn_(6)Sn_(6)is ferrimagnetic with the critical temperature of about 470 K.This study will enrich the research platform of magnetic kagome materials and help explore the novel quantum phenomena in these interesting materials.The dataset of specific crystal structure parameters for HfMn_(6)Sn_(6)are available in Science Data Bank,with the link. 展开更多

We report the physical properties of ThRu_(3)Si_(2)featured with distorted Ru kagome lattice.The combined experiments of resistivity,magnetization and specific heat reveal bulk superconductivity with T_(c)=3.8 K.The specific heat jump and calculated electron–phonon coupling indicate a moderate coupled BCS superconductor.In comparison with LaRu_(3)Si_(2),the calculated electronic structure in ThRu_(3)Si_(2)shows an electron-doping effect with electron filling lifted from 100 meV below flat bands to 300 meV above it.This explains the lower superconducting transition temperature and weaker electron correlations observed in ThRu_(3)Si_(2).Our work suggests the Tc and electronic correlations in the kagome superconductor could have an intimate connection with the flat bands. 展开更多

Kagome magnets have attracted considerable research attention due to the interplay between topology,magnetism and electronic correlations.In this study we report single-crystal synthesis of a series of the kagome magnets.RCr_(6)Ge_(6)(R=Gd-Tm) that possess defect-free Cr kagome lattices and systematically study their magnetic and electrical transport properties.The transition from a canted ferrimagnetic to a paramagnetic state in GdCr_(6)Ge_(6),TbCr_(6)Ge_(6),DyCr_(6)Ge_(6),HoCr_(6)Ge_(6),ErCr_(6)Ge_(6) and TmCr_(6)Ge_(6) occurs at 11.3 K,10.8 K,4.3 K,2.5 K,3.3 K and below 2 K,respectively,due to R-R interactions within the compounds.Magnetization measurements reveal highly anisotropic magnetism with canted magnetic moments in these compounds.In electrical transport,both negative and positive magnetoresistances at different magnetic fields and temperatures have been observed due to the competition between different scattering mechanisms.This work enriches our understanding of the Cr-based kagome magnets and paves the way to search for possible topological responses in this family. 展开更多

Materials with kagome lattices have attracted significant research attention due to their nontrivial features in energy bands.We theoretically investigate the evolution of electronic band structures of kagome lattices in response to uniaxial strain using both a tight-binding model and an antidot model based on a periodic muffin-tin potential.It is found that the Dirac points move with applied strain.Furthermore,the flat band of unstrained kagome lattices is found to develop into a highly anisotropic shape under a stretching strain along y direction,forming a partially flat band with a region dispersionless along ky direction while dispersive along kx direction.Our results shed light on the possibility of engineering the electronic band structures of kagome materials by mechanical strain. 展开更多

Searching for the dispersionless flat band(FB)in quantum materials,especially in topological systems,becomes an interesting topic.The kagome lattice is an ideal platform for such exploration because the FB can be naturally induced by the underlying destructive interference.Nevertheless,the magnetic kagome system that hosts the FB close to the Fermi level(EF)is exceptionally rare.Here,we study the electronic structure of a kagome magnet LuMn6Sn6 by combining angleresolved photoemission spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations.The observed Fermi-surface topology and overall band dispersions are similar to previous studies of the XMn6Sn6(X=Dy,Tb,Gd,Y)family of compounds.We clearly observe two kagome-derived FBs extending through the entire Brillouin zone,and one of them is located just below EF.The photon-energy-dependent measurements reveal that these FBs are nearly dispersionless along the kz direction as well,supporting the quasi-two-dimensional character of such FBs.Our results complement the XMn6Sn6 family and demonstrate the robustness of the FB features across this family. 展开更多

Two-fold symmetry of the in-plane resistance in kagome superconductor Cs(V_(1-x)Ta_(x))_(3)Sb_(5) with enhanced superconductivity

The kagome superconductor CsV_(3)Sb_(5) has attracted widespread attention due to its rich correlated electron states including superconductivity, charge density wave(CDW), nematicity, and pair density wave. Notably, the modulation of the intertwined electronic orders by the chemical doping is significant to illuminate the cooperation/competition between multiple phases in kagome superconductors. In this study, we have synthesized a series of tantalum-substituted Cs(V_(1-x)Ta_(x))_(3)Sb_(5) by a modified self-flux method. Electrical transport measurements reveal that CDW is suppressed gradually and becomes undetectable as the doping content of x is over 0.07. Concurrently, the superconductivity is enhanced monotonically from T_(c) ~ 2.8 K at x = 0 to 5.2 K at x = 0.12. Intriguingly, in the absence of CDW, Cs(V_(1-x)Ta_(x))_(3)Sb_(5)(x = 0.12) crystals exhibit a pronounced two-fold symmetry of the in-plane angular-dependent magnetoresistance(AMR) in the superconducting state, indicating the anisotropic superconducting properties in the Cs(V_(1-x)Ta_(x))_(3)Sb_(5). Our findings demonstrate that Cs(V_(1-x)Ta_(x))_(3)Sb_(5) with the non-trivial band topology is an excellent platform to explore the superconductivity mechanism and intertwined electronic orders in quantum materials. 展开更多

We report structural and electronic properties of Na_(2)Ni_(3)S_(4),a quasi-two-dimensional compound composed of alternating layers of[Ni_(3)S_(4)]^(2-)and Na^(+).The compound features a remarkable Ni-based kagome lattice with a square planar configuration of four surrounding S atoms for each Ni atom.Magnetization and electrical measurements reveal a weak paramagnetic insulator with a gap of about 0.5 eV.Our band structure calculation highlights a set of topological flat bands of the kagome lattice derived from the rotated dxz-orbital with C_(3)+T symmetry in the presence of crystal-field splitting. 展开更多
