In this case, several hypothesis tests on the model under consideration may be biased, for example, CHOW’s coefficient stability test (or structural change test), Student’s t-test and Fisher’s F-test. Most of the heteroscedasticity tests in the literature are based on the comparison of variances. Despite the multiplication of equality tests of coefficients of variation (CVs) that have appeared in the literature, to our knowledge, the first and only use of the coefficient of variation in the detection of heteroskedasticity was offered by Li and Yao in 2017. Thus, this paper offers an approach to determine the existence of heteroskedasticity by a test of equality of coefficients of variation. We verify by a Monte Carlo robustness and performance test that our method seems even better than some tests in the literature. The results of this study contribute to the exploitation of the statistical measurement of CV dispersion. They help technicians economists to better verify their hypotheses before making a scientific decision when making a necessary forecast, in order to contribute effectively to the economic and sustainable development of a company or enterprise.展开更多

Friction measurements were also conducted using a modified tribotester based on strip sliding between tools. Four different tool surfaces were tested under similar contact conditions regarding contact area, normal pressure, sliding speed, lubricant and surface characteristics to calculate the friction coefficient between the tool surface and a high strength low alloy steel sheet HSLA 380. The results showed that friction coefficient varies over a wide range with different lubricating conditions and different sliding velocities. For some sliding velocities, the coefficient of friction is stable and low, while for others it is unstable and higher. Results of the experiments reveal that this novel tribotester is a very useful tool to evaluate and compare the friction between steel sheet and tool surfaces in alloyed steel for cold working applications. The outcomes have only small dispersion within the different test series, which indicates a stable process with good repeatability. The test method enables comparison of different surface finishes and treatments, lubricants and coatings in terms of friction and galling under conditions similar to those found in sheet metal forming processes. The four different types of surfaces considered for this study were grinded, polished, nitrided and quenched/tempered. The main difference among the tested tools in this work was the surface roughness, which was found to have a strong influence on friction.展开更多

Based on the background of the soft soil in Shantou, Guangdong Province, a series of experimental studies on the consolidation characteristics were carried out by using the modified consolidation instrument. And the concept of the composite consolidation coefficient of the drained water body was put forward. The composite consolidation coefficient reflects the consolidation characteristics of soft soil with drainage water, The test results showed that: 1) The consolidation test with drainage plate is basically consistent with the load compression curve, but its consolidation rate is fast, which is reflected by the composite consolidation coefficient. 2) In the consolidation test of water bodies with drainage, the vertical consolidation coefficient and radial consolidation coefficient are calculated by “three-point method”, and then the composite consolidation coefficient is obtained. The composite consolidation coefficient decreases with the increase of drain spacing ratio, effective drainage diameter and drainage height, which is basically consistent with the theoretical formula. 3) The vertical consolidation coefficient and radial consolidation coefficient decrease with the increase of the diameter of the sample, and the difference is obvious when the load is large. The large-size model with a diameter of 100 mm and a height of 100 mm is about 1.35 times of the vertical consolidation coefficient of the conventional consolidation test.展开更多

The two-step damage identification is verified by a finite element model of Xinxingtang Highway Bridge and a laboratory beam model based on polyvinylidens fluoride (PVDF). The bridge model was constructed with 57 girder segments, and simulated with 58 measurement points. The damaged segments were located accurately by GRC index regardless of damage extents and noise levels. With stiffness reduction factors of detected segments as variables, the GA program evolved for 150 generations in 6 h and identified the damage extent with the maximum errors of 1% and 3% corresponding to the noise to signal ratios of 0 and 5%, respectively. In contrast, the common GA-based method without using GRC index evolved for 600 generations in 24 h, but failed to obtain satisfactory results. The GA-based damage quantification was also consistent with the value of crack depth in the beam model.展开更多

Based on the field test using 12 heavy trucks and finite element simulations, the static deformations of different components, stress increments and distributions of the girder, as well as the vibration characteristics and damping ratio of the Hunan Road Bridge were analyzed, which is the widest self-anchored suspension bridge in China at present. The dynamic responses were calculated using the Newmark-β integration method assisted by the simulation models of bridge and vehicles, the influences on the dynamic impact coefficient(DIC) brought by the vehicle parameters, girder width, eccentricity travel and deck flatness were also researched. The spatial effect of the girder is obvious due to the extra width, which performs as the stress increments distribute unevenly along the transverse direction, and the girder deflections and stress increments of the upper plate change as a "V" and "M" shape respectively under the symmetrical vehicle loads affected by the shear lag effect, cross slope and local effect of the wheels, the maximum of stress increments are located in the junctions with the inner webs. The obvious girder torsional deformation and the apparent unevenness of the hanger forces between the two cable planes under the eccentric vehicle loads, together with the mode shapes such as the girder transverse bending and torsion which appear relatively earlier, all reflect the weakened torsional rigidity of the extra-wide girder. The transverse displacements of towers are more obvious than the longitudinal ones. As for the influences on the DIC, the static effect of the heavier vehicles plays a major role when pass through with a higher speed and the changes of vehicle suspension stiffness generate greater impacts than the suspension damp. The values of DIC in the vehicle-running side during the eccentric travel, affected by the restricts from the static effects of the eccentric moving trucks, are significantly smaller than the vehicle-free side, the increase in the road roughness is the most sensitive one among the above influential factors. The results could provide references for the design, static and dynamic response analysis of the similar extra-wide suspension bridges.展开更多

The results could provide references for the design, static and dynamic response analysis of the similar extra-wide suspension bridges.

文摘The microstructure of an alloy is affected intensively by the cooling process. To figure out the inherent relation between the cooling rate and microstructure of an advanced nickel-based superalloy, experimental and numerical studies on the cooling process were conducted.Specifically, the measurement was performed concerning both the temperature of the specimen during the end-quench test and the size of the secondaryγ′phase of the specimen after that. The heat transfer coefficient of the quenched surface was determined by the inverse heat transfer method for simulation. The results show that the cooling rate of the quenched surface exceeds 1574 K/min.Based on the averaged cooling rate obtained from the simulation and the measured size of the secondaryγ′phase,an empirical correlation in a double logarithmic relationship between them is proposed. The relationship is verified by the experiment with specified cooling rates.
