Therefore, nondestructive testing technology is important for ensuring the safe operation of the pipelines and energy mining. In this paper, the structure and principle of magnetic flux leakage (MFL) in-line inspection system is introduced first. Besides, a mathematic model of the system according to the ampere circuit rule, flux continuity theorem, and column coordinate transform is built, and the magnetic flux density in every point of space is calculated based on the theory of finite element analysis. Then we analyze and design the disposition of measurement section probes and sensors combining both three-axis MFL in-line inspection and multi-sensor fusion technology. Its advantage is that the three-axis changes of magnetic flux leakage field are measured by the multi-probes at the same time, so we can determine various defects accurately. Finally, the theory of finite element analysis is used to build a finite element simulation model, and the relationship between defects and MFL inspection signals is studied. Simulation and experiment results verify that the method not only enhances the detection ability to different types of defects but also improves the precision and reliability of the inspection system.展开更多
A link between the electromagnetic code, ANSYS/Emag and the structural code, Ls-dyna was developed, and the numerical modeling of electromagnetic forming for aluminum alloy tube expansion was performed by means of the...A link between the electromagnetic code, ANSYS/Emag and the structural code, Ls-dyna was developed, and the numerical modeling of electromagnetic forming for aluminum alloy tube expansion was performed by means of them (discharge energy 0.75kJ). A realistic distribution of magnetic pressure was calculated. The calculated values of displacement along the tube axis and versus time are in very good agreement with the measured ones. The maximum strain rate is 1122s -1, which is not large enough to change the constitutive equations of aluminum alloy. With the augment of discharge energy (0.51.0kJ), the relative errors of the maximum deformation increase from 2.93% to 11.4%. Therefore, coupled numerical modeling of the electromagnetic field and the structural field should be performed to investigate the electromagnetic forming with larger deformation.展开更多

In this regard, ordinary solution techniques lead to instability near the limit points and also have problems in case of snap-through and snap-back. Thus they fail to predict the complete load-displacement response. The arc-length method serves the purpose well in principle, received wide acceptance in finite element analysis, and has been used extensively. However modifications to the basic idea are vital to meet the particular needs of the analysis. This paper reviews some of the recent developments of the method in the last two decades, with particular emphasis on nonlinear finite element analysis of reinforced concrete structures.展开更多

The current detection methods mostly are used after casing damage, which is not very effective. With the rapid development of China's offshore oil industry, the number of offshore oil wells is becoming larger and larger. Because the cost of offshore oil well is very high, the casing damage will cause huge economic losses. What's more, it can also bring serious pollution to marine environment. So the effective methods of detecting casing damage are required badly. The accumulation of stress is the main reason for the casing damage. Magnetic anisotropy technique based on counter magnetostriction effect can detect the stress of casing in real time and help us to find out the hidden dangers in time. It is essential for us to prevent the casing damage from occurring. However, such technique is still in the development stage. Previous studies mostly got the relationship between stress and magnetic signals by physical experiment, and the study of physical mechanism in relative magnetic permeability connecting the stress and magnetic signals is rarely reported. The present paper uses the ANSYS to do the three-dimensional finite element numerical simulation to study how the relative magnetic permeability works for the oil casing model. We find that the quantitative relationship between the stress' s variation and magnetic induction intensity's variation is: Δδ =K* ΔB, K = 8.04×109, which is proved correct by physical experiment.展开更多
This paper introduces a novel method for fast calculating the electromagnetic forces in interior permanent magnet synchronous machines(IPMSMs)under pulse width modulation(PWM)voltage source inverter(VSI)supply based o...This paper introduces a novel method for fast calculating the electromagnetic forces in interior permanent magnet synchronous machines(IPMSMs)under pulse width modulation(PWM)voltage source inverter(VSI)supply based on the small-signal time-harmonic finite element analysis(THFEA),which has been successfully utilized for fast calculating the PWMinduced losses in silicon steel sheets and permanent magnets.Based on the small-signal THFEA,the functional relationships between high-frequency harmonic voltages(HFHVs)and corresponding airgap flux densities are established,which are used for calculating the flux density spectra caused by each HFHV in the PWM voltage spectra.Then,the superposition principle is applied for calculating the flux density spectra caused by fundamental currents and all HFHVs,which are converted to the electromagnetic force spectra at last.The relative errors between the force density spectra calculated with the proposed method and those obtained from traditional time-stepping finite element analysis(TSFEA)using PWM voltages as input are within 3.1%,while the proposed method is 24 times faster than the traditional TSFEA.展开更多

The students’ laboratory work is part of the library of experiments of the Electrical Machines virtual laboratory and makes use of the two-dimensional open-access electromagnetic field analysis software Finite Element Method Magnetics. The idea of the simulated exercise is to demonstrate how the magnetic loss caused by time-varying excitations affects the magnetic permeability, <em>μ</em>, of the laminated core and the terminal quantities of the energizing winding. A parametric analysis employing different values for the electrical conductivity and maximum hysteresis-induced angle of the laminated material yields five different field problems with increasing magnetic loss. Electric circuits characterized by the (<em>I-V</em>) operating point and reflected impedance of the energizing winding provide the information required to compute the changes in real power Δ<em>P</em>, reactive power Δ<em>Q</em> and magnetically stored energy Δ<em>W</em><sub>m</sub> between successive problems characterized by increasing magnetic loss. In this paper,key dimensions of a co-axial dual-mechanical-port flux-switching permanent magnet(CADMP-FSPM)machine for fuel-based extended range electric vehicles(ER-EVs),including split ratio,stator/rotor pole arcs,r...In this paper,key dimensions of a co-axial dual-mechanical-port flux-switching permanent magnet(CADMP-FSPM)machine for fuel-based extended range electric vehicles(ER-EVs),including split ratio,stator/rotor pole arcs,rotor yoke thickness,etc.,are analyzed and optimized.Firstly,the topologies and operation principles of an exampled 3-phase CADMP-FSPM are introduced briefly,in which an inner-rotor FSPM machine with 12-stator-slots/10-rotor-poles for high-speed generation and an outer-rotor FSPM machine with 12-stator-slots/22-rotor-poles for low-speed motoring are assembled co-axially.Then,the relationship between the key dimensions and electromagnetic performance,particularly for electromagnetic torque(power),of the CADMP-FSPM machine is studied by 2D-finite element analysis(FEA).Further,the reasonable matches of split ratio,rotor/stator pole arcs and rotor yoke are determined and the original CADMP-FSPM machine is optimized correspondingly.Finally,the static characteristics,including no-load PM flux-linkage,electro-motive-force(EMF),winding inductances,cogging torques and electromagnetic torques,of the original and optimized machines are compared by 2D-FEA.The results verify that the optimized CADMP-FSPM machine can exhibit improved torque characteristics than the original one,i.e.,the torque ripples of the inner and outer machines can be reduced by 22.7%and 4.7%,respectively,and the average torque of the inner and outer machines can be increased by 0.43Nm and 2Nm,respectively.展开更多

This TPMLSM applies axial magnet array topology of the secondary rod, air-cored armature windings and slotless structure of the forcer to improve the stability of the thrust. The influence of two major dimensions, the pitch and radius of the permanent magnet (PM), on magnetic field was studied and the best values were given by the finite element analysis (FEA). The magnetic field, back EMF and thrust of the motor were analyzed and the PM size was optimized to reduce the harmonic components of the magnetic field and improve the performance of the motor. Predicted results are validated by the experiment. It is shown that the performance of the motor and the novel elevator door system is satisfying.展开更多

However, friction loss is a non-negligible factor in the high-speed but lightwe...The current research of supporting and transmission system in flywheel energy storage system(FESS) focuses on the low consumption design. However, friction loss is a non-negligible factor in the high-speed but lightweight FESS energy and momentum storage with mechanical-type supporting system. In order to realize the support system without mechanical loss and to maximize the e ciency of the flywheel battery, a permanent magnet biased magnetic bearings(PMBMB) is applied to the FESS with the advantages of low loss, high critical speed, flexible controllability and compact structure. In this frame, the relevant research of three degrees of freedom(3-DOF) PMBMB for a new type FESS is carried out around the working principle, structural composition, coupling characteristics analysis, mathematical model, and structural design. In order to verify the performance of the 3-DOF PMBMB, the radial force mathematical model and the coupling determination equations of radial two DOF are calculated according to an equivalent magnetic circuit, and radial–axial coupling is analyzed through finite element analysis. Moreover, a control system is presented to solve the control problems in practical applications. The rotor returns to the balanced position in 0.05 s and maintains stable suspension. The displacement fluctuation is approximately 40 μm in the y direction and 30 μm in the x direction. Test results indicate that the dynamic rotor of the proposed flywheel energy storage system with PMBMB has excellent characteristics, such as good start-of-suspension performance and stable suspension characteristics. The proposed research provides the instruction to design and control a low loss support system for FESS.展开更多
Wind turbine is a key device to realize the utilization of wind energy,and it has been highly valued by all countries.But the mechanical gear transmission of the existing wind power device has the disadvantages of hig...Wind turbine is a key device to realize the utilization of wind energy,and it has been highly valued by all countries.But the mechanical gear transmission of the existing wind power device has the disadvantages of high vibration and noise,high failure rate,and short service time.Magneticfield modulation electromagnetic gear transmission is a new non-contact transmission method.However,the conventional modulation magnetic gear has low torque density and torque defects with largefluctuations.In order to overcome the gear transmis-sion problems of the existing semi-direct drive wind power generation machinery and improve the electromag-netic performance of the traditional magnetic gear transmission,this paper proposes a new transmission scheme of a non-contact semi-direct drive wind generator with a surface mount Halbach array modulated mag-netic gear method,and considers the electromagnetic properties of the semi-direct drive modulation magnetic gear of the wind turbine.Thefinite element software is used to construct the model of the surface-mounted Halbach array magnetic gear and the conventional gear,analyzed the distribution of magneticfield lines of the two magnetic gears,calculated the air gap magneticflux density of the inner and outer air gap,and obtained the main harmonics of the inner and outer air gap magnetic density;calculated the static torque and steady-state operating torque of the inner and outer rotors in the model,compared the air gapflux density,harmonics and torque of the magnetic gears.The simulation results show that the magneticfield modulation type mag-netic gear of the surface mount Halbach array magnetic gear method improves the magnetic induction wave-form of the inner and outer air gap,reduces the pulse torquefluctuation,and has a 60%higher static torque.Applying it to semi-direct drive wind power generation equipment not only overcomes the shortcomings of mechanical gears,but also has higher electromagnetic performance.Therefore,the surface-mounted Halbach array modulated magnetic gear can be used to replace the mechanical gearbox in the semi-direct drive wind power generation equipment.展开更多

A multi-channel magnetic brain stimulator was developed and the distribution of magnetic field was calculated by finite-element analysis software-ANSYS. The results show that when five coils work simultaneously, the area where the magnetic flux density is larger than 0.01 T would expand to almost the whole brain region, and the magnetic stimulation depth would be improved. Experiments were performed on ten subjects (mean age 25) using the stimulator, and the EEG power spectrums before and after stimulation were analyzed. The experimental results show that the beta component of EEG obviously increases after magnetic stimulation, and the effect is more obvious by using more coils simultaneously because of the deeper stimulation.展开更多

Emphatically, magnetic leakage flux(MFL) giving rise to the output voltage drop is analyzed in detail both theoretically and by finite element method(FEM). Showing good consistency with experimental result, FEM simulation is considered to be practicable in physical design of PICT. To cancel out leakage inductance and improve the voltage uniformity,compensation capacitor is adopted and experimental verification is also presented. All shows satisfactory results.展开更多

Two str...A novel flywheel energy storage (FES) motor/generator (M/G) was proposed for marine systems. The purpose was to improve the power quality of a marine power system (MPS) and strengthen the energy recycle. Two structures including the magnetic or non-magnetic inner-rotor were contrasted in the magnetostatic field by using finite element analysis (FEA). By optimally designing the size parameters, the average speed of FEA results of was 17 200 r/m, and the current was controlled between 62 and 68 A in the transient field. The electrical machine electromagnetism design was further optimized by the FEA in the temperature field, to find the local overheating point under the normal operation condition and provide guidance for the cooling system. Finally, it can be concluded from the comprehensive physical field analysis that the novel redundant structure M/G can improve the efficiency of the M/G and maintain the stability of the MPS.展开更多
In this paper,a 20kW vehicle built-in permanent magnet synchronous motor is taken as an example,and a magnetic barrier structure is added to the rotor of the motor to solve the uneven saturation problem of the rotor s...In this paper,a 20kW vehicle built-in permanent magnet synchronous motor is taken as an example,and a magnetic barrier structure is added to the rotor of the motor to solve the uneven saturation problem of the rotor side magnetic bridge.This structure improves the air-gap flux density waveform of the motor by influencing the internal magnetic flux path of the motor rotor,thus improving the sine of the no-load back EMF waveform of the motor and reducing the torque ripple of the motor.At the same time,Taguchi method is used to optimize the structural parameters of the added magnetic barrier.In order to facilitate the analysis of its uneven saturation phenomenon and improve the optimization effect,a simple equivalent magnetic network(EMN)model considering the uneven saturation of rotor magnetic bridge is established in this paper,and the initial values of optimization factors are selected based on this model.Finally,the no-load back EMF waveform distortion rate,torque ripple and output torque of the optimized motor are compared and analyzed,and the influence of magnetic barrier structure parameters on the electromagnetic performance of the motor is also analyzed.The results show that the optimized motor can not change the output torque of the motor as much as possible on the basis of reducing the waveform distortion rate of no-load back EMF and torque ripple.展开更多

文摘In this paper,key dimensions of a co-axial dual-mechanical-port flux-switching permanent magnet(CADMP-FSPM)machine for fuel-based extended range electric vehicles(ER-EVs),including split ratio,stator/rotor pole arcs,rotor yoke thickness,etc.,are analyzed and optimized.Firstly,the topologies and operation principles of an exampled 3-phase CADMP-FSPM are introduced briefly,in which an inner-rotor FSPM machine with 12-stator-slots/10-rotor-poles for high-speed generation and an outer-rotor FSPM machine with 12-stator-slots/22-rotor-poles for low-speed motoring are assembled co-axially.Then,the relationship between the key dimensions and electromagnetic performance,particularly for electromagnetic torque(power),of the CADMP-FSPM machine is studied by 2D-finite element analysis(FEA).Further,the reasonable matches of split ratio,rotor/stator pole arcs and rotor yoke are determined and the original CADMP-FSPM machine is optimized correspondingly.Finally,the static characteristics,including no-load PM flux-linkage,electro-motive-force(EMF),winding inductances,cogging torques and electromagnetic torques,of the original and optimized machines are compared by 2D-FEA.The results verify that the optimized CADMP-FSPM machine can exhibit improved torque characteristics than the original one,i.e.,the torque ripples of the inner and outer machines can be reduced by 22.7%and 4.7%,respectively,and the average torque of the inner and outer machines can be increased by 0.43Nm and 2Nm,respectively.

文摘A novel elevator door driven by tubular permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (TPMLSM) is presented. This TPMLSM applies axial magnet array topology of the secondary rod, air-cored armature windings and slotless structure of the forcer to improve the stability of the thrust. The influence of two major dimensions, the pitch and radius of the permanent magnet (PM), on magnetic field was studied and the best values were given by the finite element analysis (FEA). The magnetic field, back EMF and thrust of the motor were analyzed and the PM size was optimized to reduce the harmonic components of the magnetic field and improve the performance of the motor. Predicted results are validated by the experiment. It is shown that the performance of the motor and the novel elevator door system is satisfying.

文摘The current research of supporting and transmission system in flywheel energy storage system(FESS) focuses on the low consumption design. However, friction loss is a non-negligible factor in the high-speed but lightweight FESS energy and momentum storage with mechanical-type supporting system. In order to realize the support system without mechanical loss and to maximize the e ciency of the flywheel battery, a permanent magnet biased magnetic bearings(PMBMB) is applied to the FESS with the advantages of low loss, high critical speed, flexible controllability and compact structure. In this frame, the relevant research of three degrees of freedom(3-DOF) PMBMB for a new type FESS is carried out around the working principle, structural composition, coupling characteristics analysis, mathematical model, and structural design. In order to verify the performance of the 3-DOF PMBMB, the radial force mathematical model and the coupling determination equations of radial two DOF are calculated according to an equivalent magnetic circuit, and radial–axial coupling is analyzed through finite element analysis. Moreover, a control system is presented to solve the control problems in practical applications. The rotor returns to the balanced position in 0.05 s and maintains stable suspension. The displacement fluctuation is approximately 40 μm in the y direction and 30 μm in the x direction. Test results indicate that the dynamic rotor of the proposed flywheel energy storage system with PMBMB has excellent characteristics, such as good start-of-suspension performance and stable suspension characteristics. The proposed research provides the instruction to design and control a low loss support system for FESS.

文摘Wind turbine is a key device to realize the utilization of wind energy,and it has been highly valued by all countries.But the mechanical gear transmission of the existing wind power device has the disadvantages of high vibration and noise,high failure rate,and short service time.Magneticfield modulation electromagnetic gear transmission is a new non-contact transmission method.However,the conventional modulation magnetic gear has low torque density and torque defects with largefluctuations.In order to overcome the gear transmis-sion problems of the existing semi-direct drive wind power generation machinery and improve the electromag-netic performance of the traditional magnetic gear transmission,this paper proposes a new transmission scheme of a non-contact semi-direct drive wind generator with a surface mount Halbach array modulated mag-netic gear method,and considers the electromagnetic properties of the semi-direct drive modulation magnetic gear of the wind turbine.Thefinite element software is used to construct the model of the surface-mounted Halbach array magnetic gear and the conventional gear,analyzed the distribution of magneticfield lines of the two magnetic gears,calculated the air gap magneticflux density of the inner and outer air gap,and obtained the main harmonics of the inner and outer air gap magnetic density;calculated the static torque and steady-state operating torque of the inner and outer rotors in the model,compared the air gapflux density,harmonics and torque of the magnetic gears.The simulation results show that the magneticfield modulation type mag-netic gear of the surface mount Halbach array magnetic gear method improves the magnetic induction wave-form of the inner and outer air gap,reduces the pulse torquefluctuation,and has a 60%higher static torque.Applying it to semi-direct drive wind power generation equipment not only overcomes the shortcomings of mechanical gears,but also has higher electromagnetic performance.Therefore,the surface-mounted Halbach array modulated magnetic gear can be used to replace the mechanical gearbox in the semi-direct drive wind power generation equipment.

文摘Multi-channel magnetic stimulation is an efficient method to improve the conventional magnetic stimulation. A multi-channel magnetic brain stimulator was developed and the distribution of magnetic field was calculated by finite-element analysis software-ANSYS. The results show that when five coils work simultaneously, the area where the magnetic flux density is larger than 0.01 T would expand to almost the whole brain region, and the magnetic stimulation depth would be improved. Experiments were performed on ten subjects (mean age 25) using the stimulator, and the EEG power spectrums before and after stimulation were analyzed. The experimental results show that the beta component of EEG obviously increases after magnetic stimulation, and the effect is more obvious by using more coils simultaneously because of the deeper stimulation.

文摘A novel high-frequency and high power density planar insulated core transformer(PICT) applied to high voltage DC generator is introduced. PICT's operating principle and fundamental configuration are described,and preliminary experimental results in self-designed PICT apparatus are presented. Emphatically, magnetic leakage flux(MFL) giving rise to the output voltage drop is analyzed in detail both theoretically and by finite element method(FEM). Showing good consistency with experimental result, FEM simulation is considered to be practicable in physical design of PICT. To cancel out leakage inductance and improve the voltage uniformity,compensation capacitor is adopted and experimental verification is also presented. All shows satisfactory results.

文摘A novel flywheel energy storage (FES) motor/generator (M/G) was proposed for marine systems. The purpose was to improve the power quality of a marine power system (MPS) and strengthen the energy recycle. Two structures including the magnetic or non-magnetic inner-rotor were contrasted in the magnetostatic field by using finite element analysis (FEA). By optimally designing the size parameters, the average speed of FEA results of was 17 200 r/m, and the current was controlled between 62 and 68 A in the transient field. The electrical machine electromagnetism design was further optimized by the FEA in the temperature field, to find the local overheating point under the normal operation condition and provide guidance for the cooling system. Finally, it can be concluded from the comprehensive physical field analysis that the novel redundant structure M/G can improve the efficiency of the M/G and maintain the stability of the MPS.

文摘In this paper,a 20kW vehicle built-in permanent magnet synchronous motor is taken as an example,and a magnetic barrier structure is added to the rotor of the motor to solve the uneven saturation problem of the rotor side magnetic bridge.This structure improves the air-gap flux density waveform of the motor by influencing the internal magnetic flux path of the motor rotor,thus improving the sine of the no-load back EMF waveform of the motor and reducing the torque ripple of the motor.At the same time,Taguchi method is used to optimize the structural parameters of the added magnetic barrier.In order to facilitate the analysis of its uneven saturation phenomenon and improve the optimization effect,a simple equivalent magnetic network(EMN)model considering the uneven saturation of rotor magnetic bridge is established in this paper,and the initial values of optimization factors are selected based on this model.Finally,the no-load back EMF waveform distortion rate,torque ripple and output torque of the optimized motor are compared and analyzed,and the influence of magnetic barrier structure parameters on the electromagnetic performance of the motor is also analyzed.The results show that the optimized motor can not change the output torque of the motor as much as possible on the basis of reducing the waveform distortion rate of no-load back EMF and torque ripple.
