Typical industrial washing procedures and techniques were followed and then physico-mechanical properties were analyzed under standard condition. It is observed that after washing, weight of each garments has increased from 5% to 36%;stitch length of the constituted fabric has decreased from 1% to 10% approximately;CPI has increased 23% for CVC fabric only for enzyme treatment and for other process it has a little bit or no wash effects. Same effects found for WPI except 100% cotton and Double Lacoste. Shrinkage property both for lengthwise and widthwise remains the same except CVC and Double Lacoste knitted garments and spirality has almost unchanged except 100% cotton and slub fabric. Both the dry and wet rubbing properties have improved after any types of wash except 100% cotton on Silicone wash. Water absorbency property has increased;pH of all the samples is under controlled and lies between 4.5 and 5.0. But there is no significant change of colorfastness to wash and stain after these washing treatments.展开更多

Acid washing is one kind of finishing treatment used for making sewn garments aesthetic, fashionable, soft, comfortable and also adding value to the final garments. This paper investigates the effect of the acid washing (with thermocol balls and potassium permanganate) on different physical properties of three knitted garments (Single Jersey 100% Cotton T-shirt, Single Jersey 95% Cotton 5% Spandex T-Shirt and 1 × 1 Rib100% Cotton T-Shirt). Typical washing procedures and techniques were followed and then physical properties were analyzed under standard condition. It is observed that fabric weight, CPI, WPI, spirality and shrinkage increase while bursting strength, stitch length absorbency decrease after washing treatment. pH of all the samples is under controlled and lies between 7 to 8. There is no change in pilling, colorfastness to wash, water and dry rubbing while a little bit decrease in wet rubbing.展开更多

One of them is a transformation of knitting rows and stitches form knitting pattern and its automatic analysis is to control data from the knitting design data. A method of the pattern CAD system including the analyzing and the compiling of the pattern data was developed in this paper. By rasterizing the pattern map, the drafted pattern could be compiled into knitting row data and stitches. The storage format of knitting rows data and stitches data could be defined by analyzing the motion of computerized fiat knitting machine. By reassembling the control data, it could be analyzed into the execute data of the controller in computerized fiat knitting machine. This method mainly focused on the weak areas of multi-needle-bed technology and fully-fashioned knitting technology in inland and could be applied to most of control systems in the master-slave mode. The knitting row data and pattern row data in a " *. ptn" format file were integrated. Giving a corresponding analytic calculation process of control data and realizing independent development of the upper machine and the lower machine, the final knitting control data not only have low computation and transmission cost but also have fast transfer speeds.展开更多

The knitted fabric based acoustic materials were produced from cut wastes from different garment industries for their sound absorption property test as per the method described in ASTM E 1050. The acoustic performance of knitted fabrics was measured by independent tube methods for sound waves of 1000-6000 Hz. It is observed that the knitted fabrics acoustic materials prepared from waste materials showed high sound absorption than woven fabrics made from the same synthetic fibers. Moreover, the test revealed that blended knitted fabric had a better sound absorption property.展开更多
