In this study were included detailed geological research of the first phase and the second pahse in deposit. According to geological exploration is presented zonality in direction of the depth of the nickel silicate deposit. Geological exploration have appeared vertical profile by zones from the surface to the depth of the deposit. The content of nickel increases nontronite zone, according to the results shown in this prospecting zone the nickel mineralization reaches higher values in the zone nontronite - serpentinite.展开更多

The battle of Kosovo Polje in 1389, presented as Serbian defeat, transformed itself into the founding political myth of modern Serbian nation in the 19th century and has continued to exist as such until nowadays. The “myth of Kosovo” could shift to the ideological-cultural basis of Serbian identity and religious-cultural practices in the case of successful EU integration efforts of Serbia. However, if Serbian-Kosovar dialogue fails or Serbia loses the perspective of EU membership or some crisis hits the European Union as such,“myth of Kosovo” could be instrumentalized by various Serbian actors in order to achieve their partial political aims.展开更多

It demonstrates the effects of tax policies on the country's economic growth and development of businesses in general. This paper also addresses the impact of those policies in maintaining the social equilibrium of a population and economic stability of the country. Applied tax policies in Kosovo have been aimed more at maintaining a stable fiscal and budgetary policy. Based on the analysis of real cases of Kosovo tax laws and their impact on particular businesses, this paper will demonstrate how tax policies applied in Kosovo have given less attention to the need of economic development, which should have been reflected through promoting the development of domestic production, reduction of unemployment, and reduction of the high trade deficit. Empirical evidence from this analysis is discussed, conclusions are derived, and the recommendations of this paper are provided.展开更多

The development of SMEs depends on the ability of those firms to invest and grow. Based upon an SME survey conducted by Riinvest Institute at the end of 2010, this paper seeks to provide answers on determinants of SMEs to invest in Kosovo, based on an econometric model which identifies the key determinants of SMEs' investment. The econometric evidence suggests a positive relationship between investment and the size and age of the company. Also, the decision of the firm to invest depends on the future business plans; if entrepreneurs have optimistic views about the future of the business, this encourages them to invest. The manufacturing and trade sectors invest more, so do exporting firms, which may be because of bigger market opportunities. Access to external sources of finance is another significant determinant of investment, suggesting that firms which gained credit invested more than other firms in the sample.展开更多

The Programme, implemented by Dorsch International Consultants GmbH and Community Development Initiatives has, among other activities, implemented groundwater protection methods. Nevertheless, groundwater protection remains a challenge in Kosovo. The water law describes that water source protection is similar to German rules, yet modelling-based planning of water source protection zones remains challenging. In the present study, the development of the hydrogeological and the mathematical groundwater model for the technical delineation of the well head protection area for the Ferizaj well fields under limited data availability is described in detail. The study shows that even when not all data are available, it is possible and necessary to use mathematical groundwater models to delineate well head protection areas.展开更多

Sulfur dioxide emitted by thermal power plants and from transport in Kosovo is transported via prevailing winds to other locations. Through its journey, this SO2 gas undergoes a series of chemical reactions that ultimately transform it into sulfuric acid (H2SO4) which is deposited as acid rain. As a consequence of NO2 emissions from electricity production and transport in Kosovo the ozone (O3) is formed as photochemical smog due to sunlight, which triggers the breakdown of NO2. We modeled the impact of SO2 and NO2 emissions from energy system and transport in Kosovo on acid deposition and chemical smog locally. In model we consider the role of SO2 and NO2 pollution control technologies on mitigating these impacts.展开更多
