Understanding Lecturers＇ Well-being From the Aspects of Self-determination Theory

There are five changes in higher education across the world in the 21st century. The five changes include changes in the university students, changes in the professoriate, changes in academic administration, intemationalisation, and assessment of academic work. These changes are evident in higher education in China. The pressure of the changes -on lecturers will have effects on the wellbeing of lecturers. The study discusses the wellbeing under the Self-determination Theory. This theory views wellbeing as a state of happiness. This theory also proposes that people＇s intrinsic goals like personal growth, meaningful relationships, and community contributions can enhance the satisfaction of three basic needs--need for autonomy, need for competence, and need for relatedness. In this way, lecturers can experience a sense of wellbeing. The findings of the study are significant for leaders in higher education who need to implement policies that foster effective work environments.

Improving Quality of Education by Evaluating the Capacity of Lecturers Using a Web Based System

Evaluating the capacity of lecturer is the key to improve quality of education by improving lecturer capacity in higher education institution. Lecturer’s capacity has been evaluated using different parameters in Assosa University, Ethiopia. Mandatorily, lecturers are evaluated using printed check list. For the last few years we observed that, the lecturer efficiency score is found on the shelf and not checked by anyone to know the gaps and to establish follow-up system. The use of intranet based web system is better to use lecturer’s efficiency result to monitor their performance and to establish follow-up mechanism. In this study, a prototype of web based yearbook efficiency management system for evaluating and monitoring the performance of lecturers was designed and developed. The evaluation process in the system was presented according to the university evaluation format. The output generated by the proposed system can be used by lecturers, HoD, HRM and academic managers to monitor teaching performance.

PBL教学法在护理专业《人体解剖学》教学中的应用

以问题为基础的学习（problem-based learning,PBL）教学模式是1969年由美国Howard Barrows在加拿大Mc Master大学首创的一种教学方法,与以讲授为基础的学习（lecture-based learning,LBL）教学方法相比,PBL教学法更加重视学生综合能力的培养,包括学生的自主学习能力、问题分析能力、团队合作能力等。目前我国护理教育中应用PBL教学改革进行了大量的研究．但在高职护理课程中应用PBL的研究较少。本研究将PBL教学法引入高职护理《人体解剖学》课程，取得了较好的教学效果。

讲授案例法在病理学教学中的应用

本文以探讨讲授案例法在病理学教学中的作用为目的,将学生随机分成讲授案例教学法组和讲授法组,比较讲授案例法与传统讲授法在期末成绩及职业素质能力的差异,得出如下结果,讲授案例法组期末案例分析成绩(14.6±3.2)分,高于传统讲授法(11.6±3.6)(P<0.05),讲授案例法组职业素质能力评定,如临床分析问题的能力、批判性思维能力、相互协作能力及沟通交流能力明显高于传统讲授法组,最终,得出结论:讲授案例法在病理学教学中的应用明显优于传统讲授法,可提高医学生职业综合素质。

Increasing Lecturer Competence as the Quality Assurance of Lecturer Performance

Lectureship is a strategic position in supporting the process and results of the overall educational system. The lecturer＇s professional competence or lecturers＇ ability in mastering the teaching content and method affects the lecturers＇ performances （related to the abilities in teaching, researching, and public servicing）; education and teaching is one of the responsibilities of university which focus on the implementation of teaching and learning process. This implies that the performance of a professor will have a lot of meaningful influence on realization of educational performance. In this connection, the performance of a lecturer as educators must be effectively realized so as to support the dynamics and effectiveness of the educational process. Meanwhile, lecturers＇ personal competence （personal competence or authority, maturity, and model of lecturers and also adjustment of lecturers＇ characteristic and working performances which are appropriate with their competences demand）, which include： skill practices, behavior, creativity, and self-development efforts and decreasing some weaknesses which are not appropriate with competences affects the lecturers＇ performances. The Quality Assurance System （MSS） is a management system to direct and control an organization in making a policy, target, plan, and quality process and procedure and also its continual improvement implementation, which consist an organization structure, responsibility, processes, procedure and resources which are used to reach the standard which has been settled based on stakeholders and organization＇s need and requirements. The quality assurance （QA） in an organization is an internal and external demand. The QA is a routine task and has to be done continually and it is not an ad hoc activity. A lecturer＇s competence is a lecturer＇s ability in implementing his obligation appropriately. In this case, the lecturer＇s competence will have an impact on lecturer＇s performances and achievement and will give a contribution to a quality of a university and its alumni. A lecturer＇s performance will give a big impact on the education implementation effectively. A lecturer＇s performance as an educator should be accomplished effectively so that it will be able to support the dynamic and effectiveness of education process.

Second Language Lecture Comprehension: Student's Perception, Problems and Strategies

The ability to comprehend academic lecture is an important part of the necessary proficiency of tertiary level students for whom English is a second or foreign language. The purpose of this research is to investigate the lecture-perceived experience of one non-nativespeaking learner who attending her English medium lecture course in the first semester in New Zealand. It describes how the learner perceives the lecturing experience, the problems she encounters and the strategies she use to overcome these problems.

口腔黏膜病病种繁多,病因复杂,临床表现多样化,具有“病因难明、诊断难定、治疗难愈”的特点。该学科涉及到微生物学、免疫学、病理学、皮肤病学等多学科,是口腔内科教学中的难点。本院口腔黏膜病学主要采取传统医学教育模式即以授课为基础的学习法（lecture-based learning,LBL）,课程内容枯燥、抽象,学生反映口腔黏膜病学乏味难懂,学习困难。

Simulation of the Thermal Environment and Velocity Distribution in a Lecture Hall

The rational design of heating ventilation and air conditioning systems is an important means to achieve energy conservation and sustainable development.The simulation of air-conditioning systems with finite element methods has gradually become an important auxiliary means of complex airspace design.In this paper,a k-εturbulence model is used to conduct 3D simulations and optimize the summer air conditioning system of a lecture hall.Various conditions are considered in terms of fresh air temperature and flow rate towards the end to improve comfort.The approach used in this paper could also be used in the future as an auxiliary model to promote the design of other lecture halls and ladder classrooms.
