The crystal features a tetrag- onal BaNiSn3-type structure (space group 14mm) which lacks inversion symmetry along the crystallographic c axis and is isostructural with the intensively studied Rashba-type noncentrosymmetric superconductors LaRhSi3 and LaIrSi3.
