Accurate positioning is one of the essential requirements for numerous applications of remote sensing data,especially in the event of a noisy or unreliable satellite signal.Toward this end,we present a novel framework...Accurate positioning is one of the essential requirements for numerous applications of remote sensing data,especially in the event of a noisy or unreliable satellite signal.Toward this end,we present a novel framework for aircraft geo-localization in a large range that only requires a downward-facing monocular camera,an altimeter,a compass,and an open-source Vector Map(VMAP).The algorithm combines the matching and particle filter methods.Shape vector and correlation between two building contour vectors are defined,and a coarse-to-fine building vector matching(CFBVM)method is proposed in the matching stage,for which the original matching results are described by the Gaussian mixture model(GMM).Subsequently,an improved resampling strategy is designed to reduce computing expenses with a huge number of initial particles,and a credibility indicator is designed to avoid location mistakes in the particle filter stage.An experimental evaluation of the approach based on flight data is provided.On a flight at a height of 0.2 km over a flight distance of 2 km,the aircraft is geo-localized in a reference map of 11,025 km~2using 0.09 km~2aerial images without any prior information.The absolute localization error is less than 10 m.展开更多
A water loop variable refrigerant flow(WLVRF)air-conditioning system is designed to be applied in large-scale buildings in northern China.The system is energy saving and it is an integrated system consisting of a va...A water loop variable refrigerant flow(WLVRF)air-conditioning system is designed to be applied in large-scale buildings in northern China.The system is energy saving and it is an integrated system consisting of a variable refrigerant flow(VRF)air-conditioning unit,a water loop and an air source heat pump.The water loop transports energy among different regions in the buildings instead of refrigerant pipes,decreasing the scale of the VRF air-conditioning unit and improving the performance.Previous models for refrigerants and building loads are cited in this investigation.Mathematical models of major equipment and other elements of the system are established using the lumped parameter method based on the DATAFIT software and the MATLAB software.The performance of the WLVRF system is simulated.The initial investments and the running costs are calculated based on the results of market research.Finally,a contrast is carried out between the WLVRF system and the traditional VRF system.The results show that the WLVRF system has a better working condition and lower running costs than the traditional VRF system.展开更多

Florence (Italy) is a worldwide well-known cultural historical city, with many outstanding monumental buildings visited every year by about 20M people, since 1982 the historical city center is under the UNESCO Patrona...Florence (Italy) is a worldwide well-known cultural historical city, with many outstanding monumental buildings visited every year by about 20M people, since 1982 the historical city center is under the UNESCO Patronage. Conservation of monumental buildings is subject to the principles of integrity and authenticity, in Italy recalled by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage 2011 rule, which defines the procedure for their seismic vulnerability evaluation. For that, the knowledge of the masonry structure is in need, and in lack of historical documentation on the design, only non destructive tests (NDT), or very low destructive tests, can be run on the masonry for acquiring this knowledge on its structure and consistence. For this purpose, we are largely using specific ground penetrating radar (GPR) technology, which is resulting highly performing in defining masonry structure and consistence. This paper summarizes selected case histories regarding the main Florentine historical monumental buildings: Palazzo Vecchio, Brunelleschi’s Cupola, Giotto’s Bell-Tower, and San Giovanni Baptistery. The correct interpretation of the GPR data requires knowledge about the masonry techniques of the age of construction, and local verification with micro drill-holes with video inspections, sonic and ultrasonic tests, in defining historical monumental buildings masonry structure and competence, static and dynamic behavior parameters and seismic vulnerability.展开更多

The roof steel structure of group C project of Zibo cultural center is composed of steel truss,welded H-shaped steel and large-diameter steel pipe embedded parts.The construction of embedded parts of inclined cylinder...The roof steel structure of group C project of Zibo cultural center is composed of steel truss,welded H-shaped steel and large-diameter steel pipe embedded parts.The construction of embedded parts of inclined cylinder overhanging steel structure is difficult.The stair square tube ladder beam requires precise angles and radians,complex processing,and construction site setting out is difficult.A three-dimensional visual building information model has been established for this projects which includes several aspects which are as follows:the development of the post anchor construction technology of large steel sleeve embedded parts with inclined cylinders based on Building Information Modeling(BIM)technology,multi discipline synthesis and collision optimization,the net height optimization of electromechanical pipelines,fine reinforcement management,BIM virtual construction template.Through this planning,14908 pipeline collisions,including 236 major collisions have been eliminated.BIM is used in handling and solving problems with the construction unit and the supervision company.This greatly improves the project work efficiency and saves meeting time.Through optimization of electromechanical line collision and secondary masonry layout,more than RMB 9 million has been saved in terms of personnel and materials,effectively reducing material losses,saving manpower,and significantly improving the implementation efficiency of the project.Based on the on-site simulation,the project planning scheme of the enterprise was adjusted,efficient work allocation with less idle time were ensured,and the correct utilization of project funds and time were ensured.The original extensive annual control and monthly control have been dynamically and accurately controlled to realize the dynamic understanding of the profits and losses of the project,and effectively reduce the occurrence of non-ideal situations.展开更多
Household electricity demand has substantial impacts on local grid operation,energy storage and the energy per-formance of buildings.Hourly demand data at district or urban level helps stakeholders understand the dema...Household electricity demand has substantial impacts on local grid operation,energy storage and the energy per-formance of buildings.Hourly demand data at district or urban level helps stakeholders understand the demand patterns from a granular time scale and provides robust evidence in energy management.However,such type of data is often expensive and time-consuming to collect,process and integrate.Decisions built upon smart meter data have to deal with challenges of privacy and security in the whole process.Incomplete data due to confiden-tiality concerns or system failure can further increase the difficulty of modeling and optimization.In addition,methods using historical data to make predictions can largely vary depending on data quality,local building envi-ronment,and dynamic factors.Considering these challenges,this paper proposes a statistical method to generate hourly electricity demand data for large-scale single-family buildings by decomposing time series data and recom-bining them into synthetics.The proposed method used public data to capture seasonality and the distribution of residuals that fulfill statistical characteristics.A reference building was used to provide empirical parameter settings and validations for the studied buildings.An illustrative case in a city of Sweden using only annual total demand was presented for deploying the proposed method.The results showed that the proposed method can mimic reality well and represent a high level of similarity to the real data.The average monthly error for the best month reached 15.9%and the best one was below 10%among 11 tested months.Less than 0.6%improper synthetic values were found in the studied region.展开更多
