Moreover, withthe symmetry transformations we obtain the Lie point symmetries of the CDGKS equation, and reduce the equation withthe obtained symmetries. A Daorboux transformation for the generalized DSW equation is constructed with the help of the gauge transformation between spectral problems, from which a Darboux transformation for the DSW equation is obtained through a reduction technique. Under investigation in this paper is the Whitham-Broer-Kaup (WBK) system, which describes the dispersive long wave in shallow water. Through a variable transformation, the WBK system is casted into a general Broer-Kaup system whose Lax pair can be derived by the Ablowitz-Kaup-Newell-Segur technology. With symbolic computation, based on the aforementioned Lax pair, the N-fold Darboux transformation is constructed with a gauge transformation and the multi-soliton solutions are obtained. Finally, the elastic interactions of the two-soliton solutions (including the head-on and overtaking collisions) for the WBK system are graphically studied. Those multi-soliton collisions can beused to illustrate the bidirectional propagation of the waves in shallow water. 展开更多

Under investigation in this paper is a (3 q- 1)-dimensional variable-coefficient Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation, which describes the propagation of surface and internal water waves. By virtue of the binary Bell polynomials, symbolic computation and auxiliary independent variable, the bilinear forms, soliton solutions, Backlund transformations and Lax pair are obtained. Variable coefficients of the equation can affect the solitonic structure, when they are specially chosen, while curved and linear solitons are illustrated. Elastic collisions between/among two and three solitons are discussed, through which the solitons keep their original shapes invariant except for some phase shifts. 展开更多

In this paper, aiming to get more insight on the relation between the higher order semidiscrete mKdV equations and higher order mKdV equations, we construct a fifth order semidiscrete mKdV equation from the three known semidiscrete mKdV fluxes. We not only give its Lax pairs, Darboux transformation, explicit solutions and infinitely many conservation laws, but also show that their continuous limits yield the corresponding results for the fifth order mKdV equation. We thus conclude that the fifth order discrete mKdV equation is extremely an useful discrete scheme for the fifth order mtCdV equation. 展开更多
