Thus far, vertical layered space-time codes assumed that perfect estimates of current channel fading conditions are available at the receiver. However, increasing the number of transmit antennas increases the required training interval and reduces the available time in which data may be transmitted before the fading coefficients change. In this paper, a vertical layered space-time code is proposed. By applying the subspace method to the layered space-time code, the symbols can be detected without training symbols and channel estimates at the transmitter or the receiver. Monte Carlo simulations show that performance can approach that of the detection method with the knowledge of the channel.展开更多

However, the downlink broadcast exposes the physical layer vulnerable to the threat of illegal eavesdropping. Quantum noise stream cipher(QNSC) is a classic physical layer encryption method and well compatible with the OFDM-PON. Meanwhile, it is indispensable to exploit forward error correction(FEC) to control errors in data transmission. However, when QNSC and FEC are jointly coded, the redundant information becomes heavier and thus the code rate of the transmitted signal will be largely reduced. In this work, we propose a physical layer encryption scheme based on polar-code-assisted QNSC. In order to improve the code rate and security of the transmitted signal, we exploit chaotic sequences to yield the redundant bits and utilize the redundant information of the polar code to generate the higher-order encrypted signal in the QNSC scheme with the operation of the interleaver. We experimentally demonstrate the encrypted 16/64-QAM, 16/256-QAM, 16/1024-QAM, 16/4096-QAM QNSC signals transmitted over 30-km standard single mode fiber. For the transmitted 16/4096-QAM QNSC signal, compared with the conventional QNSC method, the proposed method increases the code rate from 0.1 to 0.32 with enhanced security.展开更多

However, the pipeline operation of the layered decoder may introduce memory access conflicts, which heavily deteriorates the decoder throughput. To essentially deal with the issue of memory access conflicts, we propose a construction algorithm of LDPC codes, to which a constraint condition is added in the Progressive Edge-Growth (PEG) algorithm. The constraint condition can guarantee that for our constructed LDPC codes, the sets of all the variable nodes connected to the consecutive layers do not share any common variable node, which can avoid the memory access conflicts. Simulation results show that the performance of our constructed LDPC codes is close to the several other LDPC codes adopted in wireless standards. Moreover, compared with the decoder for IEEE 802. 16e LDPC codes, the throughput of our LDPC decoder has large improvement, while the chip resource consumption is unchanged. In this paper we introduce a technique of block layering in TAST codes, in which a series of layers (we call it Block layers) has more than one transmit antenna at the same time instant. As a result we use fewer layers (Diophantine numbers) for the four transmit antennas scheme, which enhances the coding gain of our proposed scheme. In each block layer we incorporate Alamouti’s transmit diversity scheme which decreases the decoding complexity. The proposed code achieves a normalized rate of 2 symbol/s. Simulation result shows that this type of codes outperforms TAST codes in certain scenarios.展开更多

A turbulent boundary layer flow at Reo = 2460 is measured by tomographic time-resolved particle image velocimetry (Tomo-TRPIV). The space-time correlations of instantaneous streamwise fluctuation velocity are calculated at 3 different wall-normal locations in logarithmic layer. It is found that the scales of coherent structure increase with moving far away from the wall. The growth of scales is a manifestation of the growth of prevalent coherent structures in the turbulent boundary layer like hairpin vortex or hairpin packets when they lift up. The resulting contours of the space-time correlation exhibit elliptic-like shapes rather than straight lines. It is suggested that, instead of Taylor hypothesis, the elliptic model of the space-time correlation is valid for the wallbounded turbulent flow over either a flat wall or a wavy wall. The elliptic iso-correlation curves have a uniform preferred orientation whose slope is determined by the convection velocity. The convection velocity derived from the space-time correlation represents the velocity at which the large-scale eddies carry small-scale eddies. The sweep velocity rep- resents the distortions of the small-scale eddies and is intimately associated with the fluctuation velocity in the logarithmic layer of turbulent boundary layers. The nondimensionalized correlation curves confirm that the elliptic model is more proper for approximating the space-time correlation than Taylor hypothesis, because the latter can not embody the small-scale motions which have non-negligible distortions. A second flow over a wavy wall is also recorded using TRPIV. Due to the combined effect of shear layers and the adverse pressure gradient, the space-time correlation does not show an elliptic-like shape at some specific heights over the wavy wall, but in the outer region of the wavy wallbounded flow, the elliptic model remains valid.展开更多

文摘Vertical layered space-time codes have demonstrated the enormous potential to accommodate rapid flow data. Monte Carlo simulations show that performance can approach that of the detection method with the knowledge of the channel.

文摘Space-time signal processing based on multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) systems is an active research field in which interfering signals are cancelled and multiuser detection is achieved using space diversity. In a Rayleigh fading channel, space-time block cedes using multiple transmitting antennas can improve system performance and reduce bit-error-rate for multiuser detection. In this paper, several antenna configurations are designed for DS-CDMA communication in MIMO systems. Space-time linear multinser detection and space-time serial interference cancellation multiuser detection are simulated. Bit-error-rate and computation complexities of the two methods are compared. Conclusions are given in the end.

文摘Space-time coding radar has been recently proposed and investigated. It is a radar framework which can perform transmit beamforming at the receiver. However, the range resolution decreases when the number of the transmit element increases.A subarray-based space-time coding(sub-STC)radar is explored to alleviate the range resolution reduction. For the proposed radar configuration,an identical waveform is transmitted and it introduces a small time offset in different subarrays. The multidimensional ambiguity function of sub-STC radar is defined by considering resolutions in multiple domains including the range,Doppler, angle and probing direction.Analyses on properties of the multi-dimensional ambiguity function of the sub-STC radar with regard to the spatial coverage, resolution performance and low sidelobes are also given. Results reveal that the range resolution and low sidelobes performance are improved with the proposed approach.
文摘Threaded Algebraic Space Time (TAST) codes developed by Gamal et al. is a powerful class of space time codes in which different layers are combined and separated by appropriate Diophantine number . Simulation result shows that this type of codes outperforms TAST codes in certain scenarios.

文摘The present experimental work is devoted to in- vestigate a new space-time correlation model for the turbulent boundary layer over a flat and a wavy walls. Due to the combined effect of shear layers and the adverse pressure gradient, the space-time correlation does not show an elliptic-like shape at some specific heights over the wavy wall, but in the outer region of the wavy wallbounded flow, the elliptic model remains valid.
