This research focuses on the reason of choosing some mathematical symbols like ＂ ＂ and ＂π＂ in Arabic, Latin, and English languages. Modeling and Analysis of Matthew Effect Under Switching Social Networks via Distributed Competition

Dear editor,This letter models and analyzes the Matthew effect under switching social networks via distributed competition.A competitive strategy is leveraged to trace the evolution of individuals in social systems under the Matthew effect.In addition,a consensus filter is utilized to decentralize the model with undirected graphs used to describe the interactions among individuals in social networks.Further,a term is added to the dynamic consensus filter to compensate for the influence of the switching of communication networks on the model.In this letter,the convergence of the proposed Matthew effect model is theoretically proved,and simulative experiments are conducted to verify the availability of the model.In particular,this letter points out the state and evolution of each individual in social systems with distributed competition,and the influence of the social environment on the development of individuals is also intuitively displayed.

A Linear Algorithm for Quantized Event-Triggered Optimization Over Directed Networks

Dear Editor,This letter investigates a class of distributed optimization problems with constrained communication.A quantized discrete-time eventtriggered zero-gradient-sum algorithm(QDE-ZGS)is developed to optimize the sum of local functions over weight-balanced directed networks.Based on an encoder-decoder scheme and a zooming-in technique,an event-triggered quantization communication is designed.Theoretical analysis shows that the exact convergence to the global optimal solution is guaranteed when the triggering threshold is bounded and the scaled sequence introduced by the zooming-in technique is quadratic summable.When the scaled sequence is bounded by an exponential decay function,QDE-ZGS converges linearly to the unique global optimal solution.Numerical simulations are conducted to demonstrate the theoretical results.

A Study on Translation Approaches to Commercial Letters of Credit under the Guidance of Skopos Theory

According to the customs,by the end of 2011,the whole value of Chinese foreign trade is two thousand nine hundred and ninety four billion dollars,by the end of 2009,5 percents of the accounts of Chinese foreign trade with a value of fifty hundred billion dollars are unpaid.Most of the financial loss are caused by wrong translation of documents.The letter of credit is the most important way of payment in the international trade,so great attention should be paid to the translation of this type of document.Until now,the study against the translation of the letter of credit is scant.This paper will apply the skopos theory put forward by Hans Vermeer and developed in Germany in the late 1970s to guide the translation practice of the letter of credit.
