Purpose To present a case of ligneous conjunctivitis where the recurrence of membranous conjunctivitis was prevented by subconjunctival and topical instillation of fresh frozen plasma.Design Interventional case report...Purpose To present a case of ligneous conjunctivitis where the recurrence of membranous conjunctivitis was prevented by subconjunctival and topical instillation of fresh frozen plasma.Design Interventional case report.Methods A case of ligneous conjunctivitis wit h multiple recurrences since the age of 3years developed rec urrent membranous conjunctivitis after transconjunctival levator recession.Blood plasminogen activity was dete rmined.The mem-brane was excised,and the membrane r eappeared 4days later.The patient was treated with e xcision of the mem-brane and subconjunctival injectio n of fresh frozen plasma and topical fresh frozen plasma.Pla sminogen activity of the fresh frozen plasma was normal.R esults Plasminogen blood functional activity was 52%(normal is 80%-120%).The patient had complete remission with no re-currences of membranous conjunctiv itis after topical and subconjunctival fresh frozen plasm a.Conclusions Prophy-lactic use of topical and subconjunctival fresh frozen plasma may help in the prevention of membranes in sus-ceptible patients with plasminogen deficiency.展开更多
