The design incorporates an inductive degeneracy circuit, employing a theoretical approach to enhance gain, minimize noise levels, and uphold low power consumption. The progression includes a shift to a cascode structure to further refine LNA parameters. Ultimately, with a 1.8 V bias, the achieved performance showcases a gain-to-noise figure ratio of 16 dB/0.5 dB, an IIP3 linearity at 5.1 dBm, and a power consumption of 3 mW. This architecture is adept at operating across a wide frequency band spanning from 0.5 GHz to 6 GHz, rendering it applicable in diverse RF scenarios.展开更多

Firstly, velocity and altitude are selected as scheduling variables, a polytopic linear parameter varying (LPV) model is developed to represent the complex nonlinear longitudinal dynamics of the FAHV. Secondly, based on the obtained polytopic LPV model, the flight envelope is divided into four smaller subregions, and four gain-scheduled controllers are designed for these parameter subregions. Then, by the defined switching characteristic function, these gain-scheduled controllers are switched in order to guarantee the closed-loop FAHV system to be asymptotically stable and satisfy a given tracking error performance criterion. The condition of gain-scheduled switching controller synthesis is given in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) which can be easily solved by using standard software packages. Finally, simulation results show the effectiveness of the presented method.展开更多

In general, single sensor system can only provide partial information about environment while multi-sensor system provides a synergistic effect, which improves the quality and availability of information. Data fusion techniques can effectively combine this environmental information from similar and/or dissimilar sensors. Sensor management, aiming at improving data fusion performance by controlling sensor behavior, plays an important role in a data fusion process. This paper presents a method using fisher information gain based sensor effectiveness metric for sensor assignment in multi-sensor and multi-target tracking applications. The fisher information gain is computed for every sensor-target pairing on each scan. The advantage for this metric over other ones is that the fisher information gain for the target obtained by multi-sensors is equal to the sum of ones obtained by the individual sensor, so standard transportation problem formulation can be used to solve this problem without importing the concept of pseudo sensor. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the method.展开更多

According to the proposed scheduling method, the performance between adjacent characteristic points is preserved by the invariant eigenvalues and the gradually varying eigenvectors. A sufficient stability criterion is given by constructing a series of Lyapunov functions based on the selected discrete characteristic points. An important contribution is that it provides a simple and feasible approach for the design of gain-scheduled controllers for linear time-varying systems, which can guarantee both the global stability and the desired closed-loop performance of the resulted system. The method is applied to the design of a BTT missile autopilot and the simulation results show that the method is superior to the traditional one in sense of either global stability or system performance.展开更多

The precise calculation of gain reduction involves Fresnel integrals;therefore, exact results are obtained only from numerical methods. However, in horns’ analysis and design, simple closed-form expressions are often required for the description of horn-gain. This paper provides a set of simple polynomial approximations that adequately describe the gain reduction factors of pyramidal and sectoral horns. The proposed formulas are derived using least-squares polynomial regression analysis and they are valid for a broad range of quadratic phase error values. Numerical results verify the accuracy of the derived expressions. Application examples and comparisons with methods in the literature demonstrate the efficacy of the approach.展开更多

A mixer with capability of high conversion gain, good isolation, and good linearity is comparably appreciated. Extensively wide ranges of frequencies, from 5.0 to 18.0 GHz, are to be examined addressing the promising functions of mixers in this study. A TSMC 0.18 μm CMOS model implanted in Agilent ADS is used for the circuit designs. Generated from Gilbert Cell Mixer, the modified circuits take advantage of extra active and passive devices to optimize the conversion gains. Characteristics of high conversion gain over 20 dB or even higher (as high as 29.842 dB at -40 mW RF power at working frequency 6 GHz) and low noise figures (NF) are shown.展开更多

First, the stability analysis and stabilization problems are addressed. Conditions based on the linear matrices inequality (LMI) for the asymptotical stability and state feedback stabilization, respec-tively, are given. Problems of L2-gain analysis and control synthesis are studied. For the L2-gain analysis problem, we obtain an LMI-based condition such that the autonomous uncertain LPS is asymptotically stable and has an L2-gain smaller than a positive scalar γ. For the control synthesis problem, we derive an LMI-based condition to build a state feedback controller ensuring that the closed-loop system is asymptotically stable and has an L2-gain smaller than the positive scalar γ. All the conditions are necessary and sufficient.展开更多
