Also, to meet the growing needs for road materials, various amendments are made to them, including litho-stabilization. Thus, this study proposes to understand the influence of the granular class of natural aggregates on the performance of laterites. To achieve this objective, different proportions of crushed granites of class 0/5, 0/15 and 5/15 have been incorporated into the soils of southern Côte d’Ivoire, especially in Samo. This modified soil has been subjected to mechanical tests such as the modified Proctor and CBR test. The results obtained show that the dry densities of the incorporated laterites containing crushed granites increase with the content of natural aggregates and decrease with the increase in the water content. Likewise, the CBR bearing indices at 95% of the Modified Optimum Proctor of the different compositions (laterites + crushed granites) increase with the proportion of aggregates. The addition of coarse aggregates to the laterites therefore promotes the establishment of a framework which improves its bearing capacity. From 20% to 30% crushed granites respectively of class 0/15;0/5 and 5/15, the values of the CBR obtained are greater than those of 30% therefore these modified soils can be used as a foundation layer for traffic of T1, T2 and T3 type. Likewise, the laterites’ mixtures with at least 40% crushed granites of class 0/15 and 0/5 can also be used for the foundation and base layers.展开更多

So, in the present research, geochemical data on Tanurjeh exploration zone, (located in Northern Neishaboor, Khorasane Razavi province) is studied by using some modern statistical methods. Fractal methods are appropriated to study and separate the grades societies in deposits. In this article, litho-geochemical analysis results (ICP) are processed by concentration area fractal method (CA). The distribution diagrams related to the statistical populations are drawn, and anomaly populations of Copper, Gold and Molybdenum are determined besides previous studies (petrography and alteration), the results of statistic methods (CA) and aid presence of the porphyry system in depth.展开更多

In order to obtain a more reliable and precise result, this paper presents a novel method that combines spatial database analysis with the single-factor mapping technology to establish sequence stratigraphical succession and to map the Ordovician litho-paleogeography of the Ordos Basin, one of the largest oil-gas bearing basins in North China Platform. By using this method, all of the related basic geological data can be quantitatively analyzed and effectively managed. Various attributes of the basic stratigraphic units and their characters, such as sequence thickness, penecontemporaneous dolostone content, shallow water parget content, and terrigenous material content, can be fully utilized statistically in facies analysis and in mapping. Based on this analysis, this paper has be exerted single-factor isopachous mapping quantitatively for each of the Ordovician sequences in the basin, and finally synthesized multiple factors to reconstruct the litho-paleogeography for each of the sequence intervals. The study shows that the proposed method is quite effective and has a much higher resolution in recognizing litho-paleogeographic subunits compared with traditional ways. For example, in one of the Middle Ordovician sequence intervals (SQ19 in the Lower Majiagou Formation) of the Ordos Basin, the authors have successfully developed a mathematical formula to divide the distribution of various facies units substantially, such as old lands, submarine uplifts, supratidal zones, intertidal zones and subtidal zones.展开更多
