By combining with a semiclassical method,an effective analytical formula expressed in the adiabatic representation is established to describe the localization probability with several zero crossings. A stable zone with respect to the laser intensity and carrier envelope phase is found at a relatively long probe wavelength. Finally, the critical probe wavelengths to reach at the stable zone are derived by using the three-dimensional model. Slower nuclear motion of heavier isotopomers leads to a longer critical wavelength.展开更多

Our simulations were preformed by solving the hydrodynamic equations using the SIMPLE method. In the system of binary fluid convection with a horizontal flow, a Periodically Localized Traveling Wave (PLTW) state was found. It has similar behavior to classical Rayleigh-Benard convection in a binary fluid mixture, but the region and wave number of convection change periodically with time. The instability of PLTW depends on the Rayleigh number r and the intensity of horizontal flows Re for given ψ. Thus, the PLTW convection results from the competition between the horizontal flow and the counter-propagating wave near the onset of convection.展开更多

Nonlinear waves on different localized and periodic backgrounds depending on the corresponding nonlinearity modulations are obtained. In particular, we demonstrate the existence and property of localized modes on a doubleperiodic background under a special designed optical lattice potential. Our results may raise the possibility of related experiments and potential applications in nonlinear optics and Bose–Einstein condensates.展开更多

In the formulation, the asymptotic series expansion is introduced to define the displacement in the micro-continuum. This homogenization FE analysis is aimed at predicting the plastic deformation induced texture evolution of polycrystalline materials, the constituent microstructure of which is represented by an assembly of single crystal grains. The rate dependent crystal plasticity model is adopted for the description of microstructures. Their displacements are decomposed into two parts: the homogenized deformation defined in the macrocontinuum and the perturbed one in the micro-continuum. This multi-scale formulation makes it possible to carry out an alternative transition from a representative micro-structure to the macro-continuum. This homogenization procedure satisfies both the compatibility and the equilibrium in the micro-structure. This developed code is applied to predict the texture evolution, and its performance is demonstrated by the numerical examples of texture evolution of FCC polycrystalline metals.展开更多
