With the deepening of the reform of the market economic system in our country, and the advancement of the reform of state-owned enterprises and government function transformation, the company is out of the shackles of the planned economy as the main body of market competition, at the same time, government regulators and investors in a state-owned capital market, all kinds of financial intermediaries and the information intermediary organizations, as well as the associated with the interests of closely linked to the enterprise value creation main body, including business owners and operators have yet to establish a timely to adapt to the market economy system. The complex landforms of a Shan-shui City(Shan-shui refers to mountains and rivers)significantly impact the selection of locations for logistics enterprises.This paper takes Chongqing,one of the most typical Shan-shui...The complex landforms of a Shan-shui City(Shan-shui refers to mountains and rivers)significantly impact the selection of locations for logistics enterprises.This paper takes Chongqing,one of the most typical Shan-shui Cities in China,as the research object,and adopts spatial analysis methods and a mediating effect model,to explore the role of mountains and rivers in the formation of logistics enterprises’spatial pattern on the street scale.The study results reveal that 90% of the logistics enterprises in the central urban areas of Chongqing are located in the low-altitude area below 353m above sea level,and distributed in a north-south direction along the mountains,as a result of blockage by mountain ranges,such as those of Zhongliang Mountain and Tongluo Mountain.More than 70% of the logistics enterprises are located less than 5 km from either the Yangtze River or Jialing River,spreading along the rivers.In addition,more than half of the logistics enterprises in commercial and financial,and residential land are located within the urban core area,while 80.83% of the logistics enterprises located in warehousing land and industrial land are concentrated in the urban expansion area.In areas with high land prices,the negative effect of altitude on logistics enterprise agglomeration is weakened,while the promotion effect of river proximity on logistics enterprise agglomeration is enhanced.In the urban core area with the advantage of low altitude and proximity to the Jialing and Yangtze Rivers,the role of mountains and rivers on logistics enterprises is not apparent;in contrast,in the urban expansion area with more complex landforms,land price can be an effective means for the government to macro-manage the spatial pattern of logistics enterprises in a Shan-shui City.展开更多

The combined costs of road and off-road transport were taken as the o...A wood logistics system was combined with a linear programming (LP) method utilizing GIS-based techniques on the platform of GIS software-ARC/INFO. The combined costs of road and off-road transport were taken as the objective function to find the least cost route and the optimal landing locations of wood transportation. Then transport costs and allowable wood volume of stands were calculated. An LP model was developed to allocate timber resources among mills in order to minimize the wood logistics costs from harvesting sites to mills. The parameters of the LP model, including the transport costs, allowable wood volume and wood orders, were written into a text file in MPS format which were then accessed by LINDO to solve the LP problem. The system is an effective tool to manage logistics, information and funds together in order to increase the speed of wood logistics and reduce the cost. The benefits and efficiency of mill cluster can be improved. The focal firm in the cluster can be competitive.展开更多

An integrated mathematical programming model is developed to simultaneously find the balance betw...This paper intends to complete the primary logistics planning of oil products under the imbalance of supply and demand. An integrated mathematical programming model is developed to simultaneously find the balance between supply and demand, and optimize the logistics scheme. The model takes minimum logistics cost and resource adjustment cost as the objective function, and takes supply and demand capacity, transportation capacity, mass balance, and resource adjustment rules as constraints.Three adjustment rules are considered in the model, including resource adjustment within oil suppliers,within oil consumers, and between oil consumers. The model is tested on a large-scale primary logistics of a state-owned petroleum enterprise, involving 37 affiliated refineries, 31 procurement departments,286 market depots and dedicated consumers. After the unified optimization, the supply and demand imbalance is eased by 97% and the total cost is saved by 7%, which proves the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed model.展开更多

The pellet...In this work we analyze the supply of biomass from field to an in-land or port destination. The biomass is pelletized to increase its bulk density to extend its storage period and for ease of its transport. The pellet may be used for conversion to chemicals and animal bedding or for straight combustion. We analyzed supply chain in Saskatchewan where there are plenty of crop residues but widely dispersed and harvest seasons are short. We envisioned that the farmer collects bales from field and transports the bales to farmstead during the harvest season. The bales are then processed into pellets using small scale pellet equipment. A custom operator with expertise in pelletization may engage in handling and densifying the biomass. The business case for the mobile mill will be similar to the well established custom grain and forage harvesting operations. The pellets are stored in hopper bottom grain bins at the farmstead. From this point, the handling of pellets would be similar to the handling and marketing of grain. The farmer trucks a specified volume of pellets from farmstead to the nearest elevator where the pellets are transferred to larger bins or silos. Pellets are extracted from silos and loaded onto the rail cars. The Canadian freight rail companies (mainly CN) currently transport over 3 million dry tonne (dt) of wood pellets in rail cars. The pellets are hauled to marine ports on the West Coast or East Coast for export. The cost of delivering ag pellets to biorefinery or to the shipping port is $86.09/dt. This cost does not include the equivalent value of removing biomass from the farm (e.g. fertilizer replacement) and return on investment. The GHG emissions to produce and transport ag pellets add up to 185.9 kg of CO<sub>2</sub> per dt of biomass. The cost of producing pellets without drying feedstock is $35.05/dt and the corresponding GHG for palletization amounts $146.30/dt.展开更多
